    Great gift for girls ages 9-17! It is hard to buy gifts for girls once they've outgrown their dolls, but this is an excellent alternative. I bought one for my older daughter, for Christmas (the panda-shaped speaker), and found that BOTH my girls used it. So for my younger daughter (turning 10), I went ahead and bought her this one for her tenth birthday.They use them daily. They're small (about four inches in diameter, maybe less), and portable. They take two AA batteries.The sound diminishes a little when the batteries wear out, but that's okay. As long as you keep the batteries updated, the sound is very nice for a bedroom-sized room. They wouldn't have enough output to produce a good sound in a huge room, but we sometimes take them in the kitchen to play music from our phones, iPods, iPads, or even my youngest daughter's Nook. We use them for reading an audio book out loud to us too. They deserve five stars for their usefulness, portability, and because my girls think they're cute (which matters a lot to girls).The only problem is when the girls forget to shut them off and the batteries run out too quickly, but that's not a manufacturing flaw; that's the fault of the user. So I wouldn't buy one for girls younger than nine, just because they wouldn't remember to shut off the power. 5Good sound, easily portable, great deal I have three of these little things and I love them. Bought the first for fun expecting to return it but darn if it didn't put out decent sound. So it now lives in my bathroom where I listen to my audio books while I'm "primping". Once I get into a really good book it travels with me to the end so bought the second one for the kitchen. The third one sits by my bed or in the garage if I'm working there. Think I've had the first for about three years and it will stay until it dies. Haven't tried it on my computer but plan to next time I tap into Netflix. And just for the sake of quality listening, I have a Bose in the bedroom and the living room but end up using these little cartoon speakers more often. 5Great price great item This item is really worth the money it was better than what I thought I thought that it was the smaller version but it was the big one which was even better it s beautiful great sounding great price for the item. 5My, what big EYES you have SO stinking cute! The cord to connect the speaker to the device (I usually use it with my Kindle) is self contained - wrapped right around the speaker itself. I like that. I like less the power options. One, a USB cable. But it isn't the regular USB mini, it's the fatter one, so at first I didn't think I had a cable that would run it. Fortunately the AAA batteries lasted for a while, so that is a sort-of option. What I actually found that totally rocks is a dual-ended USB cable. It's supposed to be for plugging up different types of devices, but it just so happens to have an end that charges the Kindle, and the other end powers this speaker. HA! My husband is a HUGE speaker snob & is very picky about sound quality. When we plugged her ipod in on Christmas morning were shocked. The sound quality is excellent. Very happy with this purchase! 5Perfect For My Son I bought this so my very musical six year-old to listen to my old iPod, and it is perfect for him.It is simple for him to use and the sound quality is fine compared to other MP3 speakers at that price point. The volume is controlled with a tight dial located on the side, and power is activated with a simple on/off switch located underneath it. The cord to connect it to your player is about a foot long, give or take. Just enough not to be annoying or a long tangled mess. It also wraps neatly around the unit and snaps onto the back for storage.It takes three AAA batteries, so no need to recharge it or anything, just keep some batteries around. I have not needed to change them yet after a couple days of play.Note: this is not a player, just speakers, but it will work for any device that can take a 3.5 mm audio jack, which is most cell phones, MP3 players, and laptops. 5Not a good product... but the case is still cute.
