    Silly Looking - Yost is Unclear on Concept of Clamping As clamps get longer, the head size needs to increase proportionally (like most mfr. do.) Yost took the F-Head from a 12 inch clamp and put it on a 36" clamp. Very silly looking. Here is a pic of 36" clamp with a 12" clamp. My 12" clamp head is actually wider !!! The Coke bottle cap I glued to tiny 3/8" dia. lower clamp is not included ! 1Good clamps at a great price! Work pretty well but the little covers for the claming surface are made out of what feels like old gallonmilk jugs. Just about as thick and really slippery. The little round ones will be destroyed the first time you tighten the clamps down. Fortunately you can do what I did you can use coke bottle, but I happen to drink Lipton tea. The caps off those bottles have a ridge that seals against the inside of the bottle top. It is almost exactly the same, just slightly larger than the round screw head on the clamp. Centers it perfectly. I hot glued these in place of the originals and while you have the glue gun out, run a couple of beads on the opposite sides clamp cover that loosely slides on to make it stay in place better. Hope that is helpful. At this price I will br buying more. 4Simply put, these are great clamps. I've been woodworking for over 50 years. I like these clamps. Are you going to build a bridge with them? No. But I don't build bridges. I build furniture and shop fixtures.My first test of them was to clamp, glue and screw 2x4's together for an overhead lumber rack. I had no problem whatsoever drawing the boards together as I needed them with these clamps.I did find one flaw, though. The pads looked like they might come off. Like every other bar clamp I've owned in the past 50 years. But, being an EXPERT I happen to have glue in my shop. So I glued them into place before they fell off and I lost them. Oh my, that was tragic.Five stars for excellent clamps at a great price! 5Not as heavy duty as Bessey but far better than most. I only bought a few of these to see if they were any good and have been very pleased.They are certainly not as sturdy as my Bessey clamps. Testing them you could see a very noticeable cup in the steel bar. But the stippling on the back is better than most Chinese budget clamps and their duty-rating was at least as good as some of my Jorgensen F-clamps and most definitely good enough for the job.I'd skip the HF clamps, theyre pretty lightweight, and go with theses. On a full 24in piece they don't provide the same strength as the Bessey, but it is wood and good is good enough. Especially when you don't have the budget for dozens of parallel clamps. 5Nice versatile clamps and a good price Nice clamps and easy to use. I bought them on sale, so they were a good value as well. Love the versatility of the 36 inch clamps as I can use them for a variety of different sized projects. Strong clamping force, but definitely get a fair amount of flex on the bar when clamping tightly. Makes me worried they could permanently bend over time. The flexing can also cause the clamps to slip a bit on thr material you're clamping, so just be aware of that. 4Not as good of quality as I expected it to be Got here super fast. Only took two days w/FREE S&H wo/prime or anything and with tracking. Packaged very well. HOWEVER for the price i expected the quality to be a bit better. The quality is ok and it should work fine for what i need but i dont expect the plastic piece on the clamp to last long or for tuff jobs so i woulda been alot happier if the cost woulda been atleast 20-30% less than what i paid so for that it loses a star. 4These are just 'OK' quality The clamps are OK for holding things for a while but not for gluing or such. They come with flimsy plastic 'pads' to avoid marking your project, but these do not fit snugly and cause the clamp to slide off of anything not perfectly flat. I also lost a few of them as they went flying in the garage. Because they are a slippery plastic my attempt to glue them on failed as no glue I tried sticks to the plastic. OK for light general use but I bought commercial clamps for serious projects. 3Great replacement for Besseys VERY good clamp. Bought these for the close threads; have used Bessey 6" clamps for years, but the coarse threads were always a pain...wouldn't engage properly. These are great. As per another review, the protection pad came off the 'fixed' end of one clamp...easy fix with a piece of blue tape inside the pad...goes nowhere now! Will order a couple more for sure. 5Amazing value! Amazing for the price! I used these in several cases but the biggest was adding extra pressure on a glue up recently. No issues at all. Be aware the little plastic covers on the ends of the clamp itself come off easily. 5Clamping surface is about the size of a dime. Not sure what all the ranting and raving is about. These are very cheap clamps...and that is what you will get...some excessively cheap clamps. The diameter on the clamping wheel is so small it is a joke. It is so small that when you tighten it...it slides up or down the piece of wood and if you are using a softer wood like pine then forget about it. All the clamping pressure is applied to such a small surface that these will dig right into softer wood. There is no real surface for it to grab onto. The blue one in the pic I attached is the one you will receive. Compare it to even you most basic clamps. And yes, I realize these are not the same clamp style but this is a large F Style clamp with a contact surface equal to a 3 inch "C" clamp. I bought these because of all the rave reviews...sorry but these seem pretty worthless to me. You will need to set up more blocks to use between the wood and these clamps if you are going to use them....which means more set up time and less clamping length....both a minus. I'll go spend a few more bucks and get 4x the clamp for my money. 1
