    and like some of the negative reviews Ok, I got my rotary tool today, plugged it in, and like some of the negative reviews, it has very little power. I'm at work so I can't play with it too much.With all the positive reviews I figured I had to be doing something wrong so when I get home I look at it, read the manual, and there are speed settings on this from 1 to 6 and max. This tool has plenty of power.I think the negative reviews about how this tool has very little power are because they didn't know about the speed setting. If they did know about the speed setting then I have no idea what they meant.I bought bits that take burrs off of metal and it work like a champ. So glad I decided to buy this over the Dremel. Nothing against the Dremel but when comparing $100 to $20, I'm glad I made this purchase. 5Great Deal. This is a great value.Experience: I have grouted 3 bathrooms and trimmed dog nails with this unit.Pros:This is a solid unit that I think will last a long time.It is well ventilated and did not over heat. Some chunks of grout got in the motor but the motor just ground them up and spit them out.Accepts drimel brand screw on attachments.Flex tool runs smooth and quiet.Main unit is not any louder than any other tool of its kind.Variable speed dial!!!Cons:The cutting tools and sander accessories are not great and you will find yourself buying new ones. I had to cut some toilet bolts but kept breaking cutting wheels and had to slow down and take more time than I thought necessary.Ventilation could use some mesh screening. Some chunks of grout got in the motor but the motor just ground them up and spit them out.Buy the flex tool, it is well worth it for getting into tight spaces and especially for dog grooming. With main motor on the floor and using the flex tool my dogs where much calmer about the process of trimming their nails down. 5Carved MESQUITE Didn't want to wear my dremel out, so figured I'd try this WEN. I was impressed by how well it performed. If the video uploads you can watch me carve on a piece of Mesquite which had some imperfections. I've been using it on medium speed and have over 100 hours with no issues. Just be sure to do the following: keep the line straight, use the right bit for each job, give it rest every few min, don't apply heavy pressure and have fun! I purchased this to have one more flex shaft for when I have a lot of polymer clay beads to buff. I've put it together and the handle started heating up within 30 seconds. And you can't return it. If there was a "zero stars" that is what I would give them. 1It seemed too good to be true (at that price); and it was! Motor shaft is not true, leading to off center "run-out" making it useless for anything. Just got it today, and wasted my time ordering it.Needed to replace my die-hard dremel tool, and was about to push the "buy" button when this one caught my eye at a crazy-low price. Decided to take a chance. Opened the box, took it out, installed a bit and turned it on, could see immediately that there was major "run-out" of the shaft. Thought it might be that the collet was off center so tried different collets. It wasn't the collets, or the bits. The motor shaft is out of true and this cannot be fixed. Mine is wothless; don't waste your time.Just tried to return it and found that Amazon says "this item is not eligible for return". First, I got mad, then I called Amazon Customer Service who processed a refund for me quickly and without issue; they just don't want the tool back, and suggest I keep it, donate it, or dispose of it. If you get one that works, that's great. Enjoy it; but, this was my experience. 1WEN 2305 Rotary Tool Kit with Flex Shaft - Works with Dremel Router!!! I was a little skeptical about ordering this tool and wanted to wait until I got a few hours on it before even thinking about a review. I recently used it for two projects. The first was a complete refinishing of an antique bench that has been handed down for generations in my family. I used a rotary sanding bit to remove old finish in the corners that I would not reach and it performed flawlessly. The second project was a plaque that I have had in mind for my in-laws. Their beloved dog recently passed and I wanted to give them something to remember him. I designed the plaque in Photoshop, printed it on paper, glued it to a piece of pine, and carved it for 3 hours using the WEN. I could not be happier with the result.NOTE: I also decided to purchase the Dremel router accessory not knowing if it would work or not. I can confirm that it does indeed work with the WEN. 5After I ordered I decided to pull my Dremel out of the garbage and just see if I could fix it My vary speed Dremel stopped working after 20 yrs and it was time to get a new one. I took a chance on this because of the included flex shaft and the silly low price. After I ordered I decided to pull my Dremel out of the garbage and just see if I could fix it. I did. Now I have two rotary tools, so which one do I use? The Wen. It is much quieter and I love the flex shaft, in fact I keep it on at all times. Time will tell if it holds up like the Dremel.EDIT: I've noticed some reviews stating the lack of instructions...really? It spins, you put attachments on it, what more instructions could you possibly need? 5Dremel 4485 collets work with WEN nut I have seen mixed reviews regarding the use of Dremel Collets with this tool. I will do my best to help clarify the compatibility, as the collet included with the tool might last 3 minutes of normal use. The dremel 4485 collets are slightly longer, however they do fit and seem to work. The nut included with the 4485 kit does not fit, I believe this is what the other reviewers were referring to in previous posts stating that the kit does not work. I have attached some photos showing the wen collet in brass and the dremel collets in aluminum. The other pictures show the dremel collet in the WEN tool and with the WEN nut installed. 3GREAT!! Buy it now! I have always wanted a Dremel tool for cosplay purposes. When my brother in law told me about this product that he had purchased from a friend, i was glad to find it on Amazon. I kept it in my wishlist until I saw it was only FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!! I absolutely LOVE THIS TOOL, I have used it for shaping EVA foam, as well as light sanding on wood and plastic. I cannot recommend this product enough. The flex shaft is so useful and a lot more accurate than just using the tool itself. Even at full price it is insanely worth it. Don't spend tons on a Dremel, just buy this and buy Dremel accessories! The only downside? The instructions to attach the flex tool were printed backwards... so I just had to read them in the mirror lol. But very minor issue. 5A cheaper alternative to a Dremel I have been using a flex shaft with my cordless Dremel 8220 to work on a wood carving. I bought this because I wanted a corded version so I wouldn't need to keep switching and charging batteries on my Dremel and I can't afford to pay for a corded Dremel.A few things about this vs a Dremel:1) Right away you can tell there is a large drop-off in quality just by looking at it and then gripping and feeling it. The accessories look even cheaper than the tool and I didn't even try using them.2) That being said, the flex shaft is thinner and lighter than the Dremel which you would think would make it easier to use, however it transmits much more vibration and heats up faster than the Dremel shaft so that you end up having to pause even more often to wait for it to cool down.3) The tool in general is more quiet than the Dremel, and Dremel accessories work perfectly with it.Amazon also doesn't allow returns, I attempted to return it after a couple hours of use because I have to put down the tool even more often than I had to recharge my cordless Dremel. The tool does indeed work well when it is usable and would probably be perfect for short duration tasks if you don't want to spend the fortune for a Dremel. 3
