Stand in the place where you work. Now face west! Quality of materials is pretty good. Finish is similar to a black powder coat. You can install it by either clamping to your desk or drilling a hole through the desk (instructions for both are provided). Center pole is tall-enough for even an NBA player to work at a standing desk. It doesn't look awkwardly tall though (which I was worried about). Overall value is pretty good.Here are the problems:- As with most monitor stands, you need Allen wrenches to make any adjustments. This is a pain in the neck when you're at your desk working and you need to fetch a tool to simply change the angle of the monitor slightly to avoid glare or better see the screen. The manufacturer could have used wingnuts or knurled/shaped plastic pieces with metal bolts inside to allow finger tightening and easy adjustment on the fly. But they didn't.- Things are a bit loosey-goosey and tough to lock down. On the one hand, you want to be able to move your monitor around slightly throughout the day if you need to, but when you want it to stay put, you really want it to sty put. With this stand-- as with most-- you have to strike a balance between really tightening everything down to create a solid and stable stand vs allowing some play and then dealing with-- for example-- the monitor drooping (tilting downward slightly) a little during the day, or some side to side wobble at your standing desk. As I type this, the monitor is jiggling a little side to side just from my typing. This stand is marketed to work with a standing desk, and it does. But this jiggling or shimmying is a little annoying or distracting, and it comes from essentially running your monitor up a large flag pole that has a little play. Note that when you do want to lock everything down in-place, you have to use a lot of torque on the bolts.- Finally, if you've got a touch of OCD (like I do), you may be bothered by the fact that the center/vertical pole does not line-up with the middle of the monitor mount. Hard to explain in text, but they are offset because of the swinging crane arm. If you line the mounting pole up with the center of your desk (either for balance with a tall standing desk like mine or for mere aesthetics), your monitor is going to be misaligned from the center of your desk by a few inches. Alternatively, if you want to center your monitor on your desk, the center/vertical pole will be off to one side or another by a few inches. I know this may sound like an incredibly silly problem, but just wanted to let others know about it because I thought it was strange that they don't line up. 3Perfect solution for mounting a display over a 27" iMac! I was looking for a way to mount a monitor above my 27" iMac. This extra tall mount by VIVO was the perfect solution! The style of my desk prevents clamping anything around the edges, so I utilized the existing cable routing hole in my desk to secure the base. It was a tight fit, and I can no longer use the cover plate that normally goes there, but it prevented me from having to cut another hole in the desk. The installation instructions were a bunch of diagrams with no written words. They were easy enough to follow, but you probably won't even need them. This mount is a piece of cake to assemble and can be done by one person in about 10 minutes. The mount has multiple points of articulation which allowed me to center the monitor over my iMac. The mount is high quality and has a nice black painted finish. The cable routing clamps are a bonus and they even hold the hex tools so they are always handy. This is a well designed solution and I recommend it to anyone that needs a tall monitor mount. 5Perfect for vertical arrangement I already had the AmazonBasics Single Monitor Display Mounting Arm for my main monitor. I recently purchased Vanatoo Transparent One Powered Speakers (Black, Set of 2) and my second monitor, which was to the left of my main monitor, was blocking the left speaker. I wanted to open up the space so I purchased the extra tall version of the VIVO mount and placed the second monitor on top of the main monitor.This worked out perfectly (see photo). Installation was easy. I really like the cable management hooks. The joints are plenty stiff and stay in place well once you tighten them. And the height was perfect for what I needed. However, I think the base should be bigger to accommodate the extra height of the mount so that it can be more stable. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'm worried that the extra torque will rip the desk off with the weight of the monitor on top. Take a look at the photo and compare the base of the extra tall VIVO to the Amazon mount. 5High quality stand with 1 flaw First off I d like to mention that this stand has higher build quality than the shorter version sold on amazon. I was surprised to see the arm is completely pre-assembled and that the vesa isn t detachable like the shorter Vivo stand.This stand worked great for me but others might run into issues with one thing. The pole that the arm mounts on actually comes in two pieces with a large piece in the middle dividing the two sections. I was lucky and my monitor was just the right height sitting on top of this ring but I feel like this general area might be the sweet spot for some people s setups depending where the vesa mounts. The lower half is 14 3/4 to the ring. From there the stand is unusable all the way up to 16 1/4 . From then on you have up to 31 of overall height.I would still recommend this stand to other even with these flaws. The only other thing I d note is make sure you slide on the ring cover for the lower stand that s supposed to hide the screws and ugly welds. I forgot to do this and it s impossible to put on after everything is assembled and I m too lazy to take it all apart again now. 5Saw it on YouTube and love it in real life. I originally saw this used in several desk reviews from Daniel Zhang on YouTube and I really liked it. I'm redoing the office for my wife and I so I ordered two. The arms holds our 27in Dell S2715H monitors well and allows for easy adjustments. I have Them mounted to the side to make the appearance of a floating monitor. There is a slight wobble with the monitor when typing, but I think placing a piece of wood under the mount to make a wider mounting base will help with this. The included cable management hooks are good but you'll definitely need additional zip ties to take your game to the next level. The only other thing I'd like to point out is the 15.5 in arm comes with thumb screws for the vesa mount and the mount itself is detachable, allowing for it to be secured to the monitor first, them connected to the arm assembly. This 9.5 in arm has the vesa mount built in, so you'll have to mount your monitor to the arm all at once. 5Added a second arm for dual monitors!! I wanted a dual monitor mounting solution for my ultrawide monitors. I also wanted adjustable arm mounts and not pole mounts. So, I did some research and it turns out you can use the Vivo STAND-V001 monitor arm on this product. The STAND-V001 arm is the lower of the two arms as you can see in the pictures. I get a little bit a bend, but nothing too bad. It's mainly just because my lower monitor (Acer X34) weighs 16.3 pounds. My upper monitor (LG 34UM69G-B) weighs 14.1 pounds. It is the cheapest dual arm solution for these beefy monitors! I have had no issues other than the installation being a little difficult! Caveat for installation:You probably need to take into consideration the length of the horizontal arm, and mount the base to one side (left/right) of you desk. If you attach the base right in the center, you'll end up with your screen too close to you. See my picture.Does it support monitors more than 27 inch? YES.Item specification says it support monitors up to 17.6lbs, which is a lot. My LG 34um88 weighs 18.5lbs with stand. The stand is pretty heavy, so the monitor itself should be under 17.6lbs.For those who own a 34 inch ultrawide, check you monitor's specs and this monitor arm probably works for you.Build quality:The base, arm, and the screw under the base are all very sturdy and heavy.Cable management:The built-in clips for cable management are handy. You probably need a few extra cable ties if you want the cables to be completely hidden behind the arm, though. 51000% satisfied. Installed in 5 minutes. Got it out of the box and installed in 5 minutes with help from the included manual.I recently purchased Dell 24" monitor (P2416D) and 27" 4K monitor (P2715Q) and needed the 24" monitor to be pivoted for programming. It doesn't feel cheap. It's very sturdy and smooth. I tried to give a little force to move it around forcefully, but it held the bar from the desk pretty well. I don't feel like I need to worry about falling from this mount.One of the best product I purchased from Amazon (after +7 years with thousands of the products ordered).I am willing to get another one for my 27" monitor!I will update this once something comes up with this product. 5Loved it so much, I bought another I bought the shorter mount about a year ago to hold my main monitor. That mount has been working perfectly since. It holds a rather heavy 34'' ultrawide, and has absolutely no issue. I just purchased the 32'' stand to suspend my second monitor above my computer. It works really well - no surprise after my great experience with the first.- The product comes with all the hardware you'll need (save for a phillips-head screwdriver)- Assembly is very easy- The product is sturdy- Great range of movement and screen articulation 5Love it. FYI on the Grommet Mounting...I pulled apart the clamp style mounting base b/c it's so long that it would not fit within the space on my desk. I work from home and it's not a traditional office desk with an open back so the clamp would have no where to go back there...plus that was too far away viewing wise. So when I went to use the Grommet mount...there was no way for the bottom to attached to the Grommet Mount Base...it was too small of a hole in the alternate base...so after looking for videos and on here...I found nothing that actually explained it or showed pictures...so unless I was missing parts or missing the way to do it...I did the following:1.) Took a Step Bit and hogged out Base hole from 5/16'' to 3/8" hole...to allow for longer and thicker 3/8" bolt to anchor all of this.2.) Drilled 3/8" hole through desk using Mounting Base as a Template. Cleaned up any wood shavings.3.) Used 9/16'' head bolt and lock nut...held nut with wrench and used Dewalt 1/4'' impact gun with 9/16" socket to lock down Base and Bolt/Nut.4.) Attached the pole and monitor and tighted down Allen set screws...Cable Management...and MINT. Love it. 5
