I eventually put a lock on them so whenever they were pressed they made an annoying chirp instead of starting my truck. After two of them had been dropped and broken I decided to disregard the counsel from the installer and see if Viper made another remote for my alarm system. I was repeatedly told if I wanted a different remote I would have to upgrade the system. I found this remote and for the cost I decided to take a chance. It was very easy to configure and I love it. No more remote start and I can easily program how I want the remote to work. Like I said I wish I would have questioned them earlier then I would not have replaced my broken remote with the same original model, twice. 5
