    Doesn't fit .Junk. Doesn't fit the standard size , tried screwing it on , not only is it not standard it's cockeyed ! Piece of garbage. 1Solid black ball for simple, casual lamp This worked well for my little lamp remodel project. Some reviewers note that the black finial (the one I bought) is just a hollow plastic ball. The one I got is solid. I also found the size to be sort of medium. I also bought a new, shorter harp for the lamp I put it on that allows about half the finial to show, which seems about right to my eye. The lamp I put it on is plain & casual, and the black finial works nicely for that. (I deducted one star because I thought it should cost about a buck less.) 4Nice Finish was a little off color wise but that is a personal preference. The heft and styling is great for the price. I never thought to come to Amazon for finials and was pleasantly surprised. This company shipped quickly and the products are quality. 4It's pretty big. I've added a photo to show the ... Okay... so after moving our son into a new apartment, we notice a lamp finial had gone missing. It's just a plain ol' black metal ball finial, so I find this Urbanest Steel Ball Lamp Finial and think, "aha!"Well, part is my fault for not paying close enough attention. I figured... it's a ball finial. There can't be much of a difference in them. I didn't stop to think how big 1 1/4 inches is.It's pretty big. I've added a photo to show the difference between a regular ball finial and this one.On top of the size, I was annoyed to find it isn't steel at all. It is some type of resin. A hollow ball of resin.So yeah... "Thread size is 1/4", 28 thread per inch."Threads? Seriously?Did I mention that it is hollow? The thickness of the shell is 1/16th of an inch. I measured it.So... if there are 28 threads per inch and .035714 pitch per thread (UTS), how many full rotation threads do you think you can fit on 1/16th of an inch?That'll be secure, for sure!I've added a photo to show you the "threads". No idea what the other two holes are for. Looks a bit like a wonky bowling ball.The one star is because it turns out to be great fun for our cat as a toy. 1The brushed nickel looks GREAT ! This finial looks GREAT and seems to be well made!!It's machined from solid metal, so it's a little heavy. In the past, I've dropped finials onto table tops. This one could do some damage to a table top, if dropped. That's not a negative, I'll just have to be more careful :). 5Looks great on my lamp. Fit perfectly and finishes off my lamp. 5Don't bother Waste of time. It's cheap, lightweight and hollow. And it doesn't fit on a standard lamp. I was just looking for a simple finial and it turns out I'm still looking for a simple lamp finial. I threw this one away, it won't even do the job temporarily until I get a proper one. 1Perfect little black finial. It fit two of my lamps needing finials, so I ordered another! And with free shipping it allowed me to test it before ordering two. Perfect black matte finish matches both the pre-finished lamp we bought and one I spray painted black. Simple, hard to find, price is nice, perfect. 5Solid, Heavy Beautiful Chrome Finials The Urbanest Ball Lamp Finials are beautiful -- solid heavy metal & look beautiful with my traditional mercury glass column lamps with bell shades, as well as, with a drum shade on the oversize vase lamp I made which is more modern or transitional style. I liked the first two I bought so much, I bought another one for the vase lamp. I'd consider these elegant but style neutral, so they go with any lamp style where you need a chrome or platinum filial. 5Poor quality Not tapped deep enough and threads have burrs. It's hard to screw on to lamp harp. 1
