    Not a good investment Impossible to square the chisel. Do your self a favor and skip this one. 1Great in theory, poor execution. Great in theory, poor execution. Jaws that hold the blade are not ridged so the blade will not consistently sit flat. The brass roller is not even trued causing the the bevel of the blade to rise and fall as it rolls over the sharpening stone. A true waste of money! 1have trouble mounting japanese have trouble mounting japanese chisels 3You have to fenagle to make it work I read the reviews. I was willing to spend more to get better product. Like the reviews say, you will have to fenagle it to hold chisels. I'm trying planer blades now, seems to be ok.It will work now but I will be investing in lei nelson 3great Once i got the hand of it, its great. First use a shallow angle (25 degrees) then use 35 degrees. This gave me the solid strong sharp edge. 5soft brass knob on a otherwise good system I've had the same problem as others, Getting the blade to tighten squarely in the "vice". I've found out that wiggling the chisel as you tighten down then readjusting for the correct bevel then cranking down on that bright soft brass knob was the only way to get it to hold tightly. Only problem is that I've now had the brass knob break off after the 3rd use. Used a vice cribs on the screwpost that was left and got another 3 or 4 uses until that too snapped off. Now I have a beautifully sharp chisel stuck in the jaws of the guide.Pros: extra wide roller to keep the chisel flat on the stone. Quick and easy adjustment of angles and ease of useCon: ability to get the chisel in the vice square and enough pressure to keep it there Soft brass knob that stripped and broke.Bought at a trade show and am too leery of putting more money in trying out a second one. 1DIfficult to set the angle I found the brass roller would not sit nicely in the notch in order to set the angle. The design of this tool could be better. Even making the v-trough a little deeper (making the entire tool thicker overall probably) would have made the guide seat better. I have a Veritas guide and these two are worlds apart but the price doesn't reflect that. 2Five Stars Great product as i expected 5Spot On I've purchased several cheapo honing guides in an attempt to avoid the cost of the Lie-Nielson guide, and with some work they can function okay. This one is really excellent, much higher quality and the stop block works very well (aluminum, also). Verified the angle is always spot on with a digital angle guide. The blade sits flat, retention is good, works on 1/8in chisels and 2 3/8ths plane blades equally well and doesn't roll side to side. Great product! 5Ok Good product I am happy 5
