Great product.....easy to install!These lights are very easy to install and work great! Simply screw in the wire adapter into the light socket, attach the two parts of the wire connector together and then slide the LED assembly into the existing opening. Takes less than 5 minutes per bulb! This bulb puts out a very white light, which we wanted for our kitchen. We also bought a Lutron light dimmer to adjust the lighting down to a dimmer level. I plan on getting more of these (but in a 5" diameter) for other areas of our house.5Right Size and BrightnessNeeded to replace my outdoor garage floodlight and these 4" LED lights were perfect for the job. Removal of the old bulb fixture was easy but dirty over the years. Install these in no time with a good seal around the rim. Now spiders and bug cannot crawl in for warmth. Good product.5Cool white, 5000K , Daylight, very niceThese are great, good price and great light output. While you can find various ones at big box stores, they are 2700K, 3000K maybe, but 5000K no way, could not find local. And I wanted white light and this is white light 5000K is awesome.Really like them, fit in 4" Halo LED recessed cans just fine!5Great LED for the price!Installed six of these in my daughter's house last week. I am a Cree LED fan and have installed a lot of commercial LED lighting systems. I took a chance on these and was pleasantly surprised. Their construction is very solid. The housing is very sturdy and the driver unit (aka transformer (voltage change)/rectifier (AC to DC) is securely attached. The power pigtail has a nice disconnect to either use the A19 Edison base to retrofit a conventional can or the LED quick plug for the newer LED recessed cans. The retention tangs are beefy and hold in the can well without slippage. As recommended by someone in the questions, I used the Leviton 6674-P0T LED and CFL Incandescent Dimmer (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008SBTNQU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). This light has a gorgeous bright white light that dims smoothly without flickering (using an appropriate dimmer). The other reviews that complained about the lack of a recess in the flange are correct but the gap is virtually unnoticeable, however, the manufacturer could make this better with that recess to account for the can housing lip. That aside, nothing in the box store home centers can compete for the price yet. They install quickly and work like a dream--what more do you want for the price?5Best Lights!!! Exceeded My Expectations But... This product exceeded our expectations. It was referred to me by a coworker and we were told that it they made an unbelievable difference, but I didn't expect it to make as big of a difference as it did. It made our house look completely different. We never realized just how dark it was until we put these in. I will suggest that you get the soft yellow color as it is the more natural light. I refer to the bright white as hospital white because it is VERY bright. We have both in our home because my husband loved the bright white but I felt it was too harsh of a light. We compromised and put those in the hallway by the backdoor. We call that our runway lol. The yellow tinted light is in our kitchen and hallway upstairs. As a professional organizer I am often asked for simple ways to transform a room and I will definitely be referring these lights to Clients if they have the "other type" of canned lights. They made such a difference in our home. The photo below shows the kitchen (soft yellow) and the hallway (bright white). Enjoy! 5Give it a 10, err ..... 5 Stars First of all, I bought "daylight" color hue. Yes this frequency of light is bright white, and the product is just that. Installation takes about 1-2 minutes to install, inclusive of unscrewing an existing light bulb. Once original bulb has been removed, the new screw electrical connector needs to be screwed into the socket; next, wire snap conector clips right onto matching connector on light, which finally slides right up into light can, held in place by 3 obliquely pieces of thin metal attached to light. Done. Lights are fully dimmable, with no type of humm or light flickering detected. Trust me, took longer to type this review than install the light and return ladder to garage. 5I'm very happy with the upgrade--these put out substantially more light than ... After a year of debating, I finally went ahead and replaced the miscellany of bulbs that I had in my 4" kitchen downlights with 8 of the Torchstar 4 inch dimmable recessed LED lights about 2 months ago. I went with the 2700K color--I had been concerned that these might be too yellow but they worked very well in my kitchen which has a lot of warm brown tones. I'm very happy with the upgrade--these put out substantially more light than the 50-watt bulbs in traditional cans that they replaced and give the closed can design makes for a much cleaner appearance. 5and excellent over all function I originally purchased 11 of these 1 year ago and would give those 11 a 5 star rating for their brightness, color temperature, and excellent over all function. Recently I purchased 4 more because I was so happy with the others, but the new ones are much yellower in color and don't seem as bright.I know they are the same ones since I still had one one of the old boxes and Amazon told me these where the same ones I purchased before, but they are not the same. Either the old ones where incorrect, but what I wanted, or the new ones are incorrect and not as pleasant. The new ordered ones are very yellow and less bright. I know there is two different color temperatures available (2700k and 5000k), but my old ones and new ones are both listed as 2700k. I'm not sure which is right or wrong, but the whiter ones are what I really want.Just beware that many of the 4 and 5 star ratings may be based on the whiter and brighter older lights. 3So close, but just too tallEasy to install and lights worked well with my dimmer, little bit of soft flickering residual when turned off, but eventually went completely dark. I'm not sure if it is just the size of our 4" cans, but we couldn't get these to sit flush on the ceiling. Most of these LED retrofits really push the size to the max, not leaving enough room to account for the small differences housing installations can have. We had about 3.5" of space between the Edison connection and the ceiling. They show 3.43" from the base and the trim, but that doesn't take into account the wire attachment at the end. That added just enough from going flush to having an annoying gap. I installed it without the Edison attachment and it sat flush, just what I wanted. If they had the wire coming out the side of the attachment instead of the bottom, it might had worked and saved that 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch that would had made the difference. Its a shame that they aren't able to make these much more shallow so this wouldn't be an issue. I did end up returning them since the brightness and color was too much and veto'd by the boss, which did save me from going into the attic to try and adjust the 6 housings by a 1/4" so the lights would sit flush. Still a great price and glad to see the quality of LED lighting is getting better and better. I'm still looking for ones like these, they just need to be shallower and an off white or egg shell white trim would be great since I don't know how many people really have this color white on their ceilings.4Good lights, good tech support, compelling value. Use CL dimmer. These bright, warm lights are easy to install and affordably priced. They work very reliably and silently with a Lutron Diva CL dimmer. The technical support group was responsive via online chat, and provided the information I needed when I had a question. I have bought a LOT of these in repeat orders, and all of the orders shipped promptly. So why only four stars? There's one thing to know before you buy: because the trim around the fixture is flat (not beveled upward), it does not conceal all workmanship errors in the placement of the ceiling cans. If you have light cans that "stick out" a little from the ceiling, or that aren't firmly mounted, these fixtures will exaggerate the gaps rather than covering them up. This hasn't stopped me from being a repeat buyer of these otherwise great lights. 4LED DownlightDuring remodeling we chose to keep the recessed can in the ceiling, since this approach gives you the option of choosing either LED or halogen, depending on the time to time different need for lighting source. This LED can conversion kit is our final choice since it is suitable for our general lighting need and consume less than 1/ 8 power comparing to the halogen par light I used to have in the ceiling.The brightness and beam is more than satisfying, light evenly spread and illuminating without flickering. The plain white trim appearance of these integrated fixtures is very nice and making a great recessed lighting in the ceiling. It gave my condo kitchen and living room a great look! With the good price, I couldn't be happier about them.BTW, the lamp is used with Halo H995RICAT, 4" LED Remodel Housing IC Air-Tite Shallow Ceiling 120V Line Voltage. Screw the edison base adapter in the socket of the recessed can and put the light in the can, it is that simple!5Excellent Light.I was a little worried after I got these, I ordered 8 to finish my basement. Based on numbers I had enough light for a mid range living room. I plugged one into an existing light fixture to see what the light was like when I first got them and the CFL's that were down there washed out the light pretty bad. I went ahead and installed the cans and wired everything up. I used Lutron dimmers for the switches and turned the breaker on. I then turned on each light and was dissapointed in how little light there was... until I realized that the dimmers were all the way down. On full brightness, they are plenty bright. They do not hum when dimmed like I have seen others do. They are a very bright white, which is probably why the CFL's washed out the test light.5Great dimmable LED option for 4" recessed cans I used these lights on a renovation project. They provide a very nice and warm light. I used 6 of these lights on a Lutron CFL/LED dimmer (150w rating) with no issues such as buzzing or flickering. The light fits into any 4 inch new or old work recessed light and does not require the purchase of a step baffle. When I priced out the project these lights ended up being less expensive than the cost of a step baffle and dimmable LED bulb. The fixtures come with the low voltage connection (I think its a T27 connection). If you're looking to fit these in existing recessed light cans they also come with a standard bulb socket adapter. 5Very bright natural light. Great qualityI've installed about 25 of these throughout my house and the light they put out is phenomenal! I have some on dimmers and they dim down very low as well which is a bonus with absolutely no flicker ever at any level. I had one burn out after a day or two off use (must have been defective) and torchstar sent me a new one. I did have to pay return shipping for the defective one however. All lights now have been installed and used for about 6 months with no other issues whatsoever. Highly recommend these lights5Solved my lighting problems!I had redone my kitchen using six four inch high hats. They had a 50 watt max par 2 bulb size, there was not enough light to bring out the color in my new cabinets. Also not enough counter lighting. I used halogen, and florescent. They burned out fast and were getting expensive. I bought one retro fit LED for my Halo brand can to try, and found it to give more light in a kind of soft or warm white range. It out lasted regular floods with no problems, but I wanted a light more like daylight. These TorchStar retro fit give me more light in the range of daylight I wanted. They pop in easy, are of good quality, and are tops in my book.5Outstanding Retrofit LED light Fixture These are the best, most versatile LED replacement fixtures on the market. I used 24 6" size lights in my previous home to replace all the spring inserts in the Hi Hats. They worked great, no problems with dimmers and got me a better price when I sold. In my new home, I used the 4" size to rebuild fluorescent light boxes in the kitchen to LED. I used 13 of them to provide down light as well as up light to the high ceilings. All of the above work was done by me. I'm handy but but not a licensed electrician. the price point is unbelievable. I have been using these lights for over 2 years with only 1 failure. I just hope they don't raise the price too much as I still have a bathroom to remodel & intend to use them 5Good... at first.Originally I loved these lights. Bright, good value, fit well into LED housings and they look good. We now 9 months in one of them is flickering. I know that is the sign of a failing LED and it needs to be replaced. It could be just a bad one but I fear they all will suffer the same fate soon. I am no longer impressed with these. I'll replace the one I guess and keep an eye on them. If any more of them fail I will update this review.3
