    For small heads only, disappointing purchase I have an average sized head for a man (7 3/8"). Hats.com tells me the average female head size is only 1/8" smaller. The band on this product, however, is so tight it gave me a severe headache. I simply could not fall asleep wearing it. I can only surmise that the manufacturer inhabits a population of people with decidedly small heads! Avoid this product unless your head size is below 7 inches.On the other hand, the phones themselves seem to work just fine, at least right out of the package. I've not had them long enough to know their durability in a sleep setting. And, so, rather than trying to return the product I opted for taking an ordinary sport headband and cannibalizing the phones from the product and incorporating them into the headband I already had. Sort of tedious? Yes. Successful? Yup!When these phones stop working, I'm going to purchase on-ear phones only which are designed for snow-board helmets and make my own in-bed phones as I have already done by using the phones that came with this product. 2Best of 4 brands lasted nearly 4 years of nightly use. Good quality and sound. I've tried quite a few of these. Use them every night and the wire lasted for 3.5 years which is very impressive. They're comfortable and well designed and I'm going to order another one now because I've worn out one speaker wire. I have found these to be the best out of 4 brands. I've got a big head. They might be loose on a smaller than average head. 5Great comfortable headphones for sleeping or lying in bed. Very comfortable wearing when in bed. It's obviously going to be an issue if you are tossing and turning with wires connected to your head, but I don't have that issue, and I've only fallen fully asleep with it once.The volume up/down and pause button that's attached to the cord is nice, so I don't have to reach for my phone. The volume is decent, I don't like music being very loud anyways when I'm wearing headphone. These aren't going to block out heavy external noise, as they don't truly "cup" your ears.It might take a little bit of effort to find the right "spots" so the headphones match where your ears are, but it's not a huge deal and only has to be done once.Not sure I'd use these outside, maybe in the winter when I would want ear protection anyways;I guess I'll test that this coming winter. 5Not satisfactory for sleep/meditation/brainwaves I wanted headphones I could use while sleeping with brainwave meditation. This product is not intended for this use. First problem is comfort. The headband is tight, uncomfortably so. Also very warm. I want to take it off almost as soon as I put it on. Next, the difficulty of positioning the speakers is great as the positions change constantly. Lastly, the volume is too low to be functional, even at my phone's maximum setting. Even if I were using this for sports, which is the apparent intended use, the volume would be too low. I'm back to using the earbuds that came with my phone. 1Just a little softer please.... As a headband to walk around with, this is a nice product. It will keep your ears warm and have you listening to music at the same time. Don't expect Bose quality sound and you won't be disappointed. The speakers are plastic and they sit on top of your ears inside some fabric. They work about as well as I think they can. This is an alternative to putting good quality earbuds in and putting a headband over them. The latter is a better way to get good quality, but this device is easy and quick.The one problem you might experience is that the headband and/or the speakers shift with movement and unless the speakers are right over your ears, they don't sound great.I bought these for another purpose. I really wanted something that I could sleep with and this isn't quite it. I sleep on my side and the headphones are round and sort of flat, but made of hard plastic. As a result, they hurt my ears if I am lying on them. I say sort of flat, because they are about an eighth of an inch thick at the highest point and about the size of a half dollar. They are sort of puffy in the middle. Sort of like a dumpling, if that makes sense to you. If you looked at the headphone piece on its side, it would be convex.The good thing is that you can slide the headphones around in the headband, so if they are bothering your ear, you can just shove the offending disc out of your way. This means you will be listening out of only one side, but that isn't a deal breaker for me. I do use these for sleeping and wear them often.The headband is made of soft fuzzy fleece and works well as an eye mask if you want, which I find a nice benefit. I don't think it matters what size head you have. It is very soft and stretchable. I have a rather large head and this fit me easily. If it is too large, I'm sure you could sew it smaller.I wish it was Bluetooth compatible as the cord is annoying to sleep with. That would also be nicer for walking around.All that said, this isn't touted as being a sleep product, so it wouldn't be fair to take off any stars because it doesn't work perfectly for that purpose. I was just hoping it would.I don't find it too hot to sleep with.I hope my experience has helped you, at least a little. 5Fits Like Child Sized Headware I have to rate this product average overall. I previously used a set of SleepPhones my wife got me for Christmas, but they crapped out after a year. I was looking for the same idea but for less money. I read the reviews on this version before I ordered and took [no pun intended] a chance raters were whining. Well, those who complained about the tight fit are correct. Even after stretching it out for several weeks, it is still pretty tight. Also, when I position the phones over my ears, the front of the "hat" rides right on my eyebrows--it really does fit like a kid's size. The headphones themselves are not as thin as a quarter--think more like a Nilla wafer. They are not high quality but I didn't expect that for $20. It might be cheaper to buy yourself a headband style ear warmer thingy, cut it open and then stash a cheap pair of basic over-ear speakers inside. That is essentially what you are buying. I do use it to fall to sleep listening to audio books or white noise; but occasionally it is uncomfortable enough that I switch to my earbuds...which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place with this purchase. Caveat emptor! 3One of the best items I have ever bought at Amazon One of the best items I have ever bought at Amazon.I am an insomniac and listen to audio books at night to get back to sleep when I awaken through the night (have an Android tablet with the Listen app which has a sleep timer built in). This headband is great. My husband used to get very annoyed at the sound of my audio books. :)True the headband feels a little tight at first, but it does gradually stretch to be more comfortable and if it's still too tight for you, you can take it off your head and place it on your pillow (recommend a soft feather pillow) and lay an ear against one of the speakers - this is very comfortable.The sound that comes out of these headphones is surprisingly good - color me amazed - I was not expecting them to be good quality audio but they are very very good.Highly recommend. 5I can't wait for night time now! I am one of these people who cannot sleep unless there is noise which can cause a problem some tines. But if it is silent in the room I will wake up frequently and not sleep well. Not anymore! After trying this has band with my favorite podcast I can not only sleep with sound while not disturbing others, but the head band itself keeps the tiny sounds from waking me up when the podcasts run out! No more worries of Netflix shutting off on me! I use this product daily. It is built well and the fleece is very comfortable. It was a little tricky getting the speakers inside the band itself but the have velcro on them so once you get then positioned right they stay put. Will buy again if it wears out and considering the beanie version for winter! 5Great for running I received the fleece headband about a week ago.PROSFleece is warm and well stitched togetherAudio is more than acceptable for use while running or joggingCord is long enough to reach from my head down to my waist without tugging or pulling (6'1" male)CONSHeadband is LARGE, I had to have my wife use safety pins to make it a bit tighter, this will be an issue for people who don't have large heads (pinning seems to have solved the issue)As you see, more pros than cons. I am happy with the purchase even though it is too large for my head. I stream music and morning radio from my phone and have no complaints about the audio quality. I'm sure it's not audiophile-quality but seriously, if you're running do you really need audiophile sound? Probably not and besides, the stereo sound is quite nice on this product.As for comfort, it is fuzzy, warm and comfortable albeit it a bit too large. I have not yet washed the fleece but it seems to be pretty good quality.I would recommend this for winter running and jogging - just know that you'll likely need a few pins unless you have a large skull.Hey TOOKS, this product is great but why not offer the headband in a couple sizes for the non-linebacker sized users out there? S/M/L sizes would be a huge step in the right direction and make this a 5 star must buy product for any cold weather runner. 4Really like this I purchased this item in order to listen to relaxation audios while drifting off to sleep. Ear buds just left my ear canals sore if they managed to stay in place very long. Other reviewers seemed to like the Sportec band better than the other brand that costs twice as much, so I gave this a try. Overall, it is quite comfortable. I have zero ear pain while using. It has a bit of stretch and give, so fit is not much of an issue either. The only concern I have with the fit is that almost as soon as I lie down, either the front part slips down, covering my eyes, or the ear-covering parts slide upward and backward, uncovering my ears. It's hard to get this thing to sit just right while lying down. However, I can usually fiddle with it and get it to stay in one place long enough to get to sleep. Also, I live in a colder area and I am really looking forward to listening to music using this item during upcoming cold-weather hikes. Earbuds worn with a regular hat or fleece band just do not compare at all with the comfort of the Sportec fleece band. I've tried it out doing house chores and yard work, and it's just great. 4
