Works as advertised I have several scrapers around the house/garage, but can never find one when I need it. So, I bought another one that I have secreted in the garage away from family members who never put things back where they found them. Sound familiar to anyone out there? Anyway, this is my latest addition to my stash, and I have found it to be imminently satisfactory. I have used only the long version thus far, but it has performed flawlessly thus far. It is easy to maintain the correct angle of attack, the correct amount of pressure and to reach the rather out of the way areas where I have formerly been unable to attack. I have been surprised how clean and clear a couple of windows now look after having used this scraper. The clamp system holding the razor blade is rather heavy duty so it should last for quite a while. Its design allows one to cover the sharp side of the blade for storage and safety without having to store the blade in some different container. The longer scraper feels sturdy and strong and does not flex and the handle is comfortable thereby promoting long life. The handle is well formed and could be considered somewhat ergonomic. I would purchase this blade again. 4Great scrapers! I needed a razor scraper handle to remove the original silicone seal off a 125 gallon aquarium. I wasn't able to find exactly what the included blades were made of, so I opted not to use them, and instead got 100% stainless steel blades which are intended for use on glass. The short scraper made quick work of the silicone seals, and it at a very convenient angle. The long scraper was great for those hard to reach places.I would highly recommend these scrapers. Blade changes are quick and easy, both scrapers are at a great angle, and both are comfortable to hold and use. 5Very comfortable and very well designed scrapers. I have had one of those flat razor scrapers for awhile that I recently had a job where it came in real handy. I decided I wanted to have more of them on hand and of course came to Amazon where I usually go to first. I found the scraper I was looking for but as usual I looked at the others Amazon included in my search. The Titan Tools 2-Piece set caught my eye and I knew I had to have these. Although the old flat scraper did the job, it was a bit uncomfortable and the Titans looked like they'd be much more comfortable. I am 100% pleased I choose the Titan scrapers. They are very comfortable and very well designed. I like that when not in use I can reverse the blade and there is absolutely no chance of accidental injury from an open blade. The cover on the small one adds more protection. These are great products and belong in any handyman's toolbox. 5Only comes with 1 of 2 needed safety caps As others have noted, only one of these two razors comes with a safety cap, and you can't a sharp razor laying around exposed. Yes you can unscrew the razor, turn it around, and screw it back in (and then reverse the process) every single time, but that severely reduces the value of that razor. I tried contacting the company to ask for an extra cap, and received no response whatsoever even after six weeks. I find that I usually end up using the old razor I already had even though it is very dull because it is more convenient than this otherwise great razor. I should have read the reviews (instead of only looking at the ratings) before buying. 2Excellent! but not even close to perfect. One cap!!!???? Seriously? Just because something is 5 stars doesn't mean it's flawless.These razor scrapers are terrific for cleaning glass stove tops. But here's the caution, even with very comfortable handles that allow you to hold the razor just so, it's still a razor. How many times have you nicked yourself shaving? Expect to slip up equally on the glass. Only glass doesn't heal.Replace that razor regularly or nicks in the blade might scratch the glass.Still these tools are the difference between hating my new glass stovetop and accepting it grudgingly.I sure am glad the handles have those distinctive bits of yellow plastic. Because with only one cap, there is a live blade kicking around full time.BTW, The biggest reason why glass stovetops scratch is if you move or slide the pot over the hot burner. Surefire way to pick up scratches. 5Nice, but why only 1 protective blade cover? I thought these would be a nice addition to mu tool assortment. Especially the long neck scrapper to use for scraping inspection stickers off vehicle windshields.What I'm very disappointed (and surprised) is the lack of a 2nd protective cover. I choose to use the cover for the longer tool. Yes, you can loosen the blade on the smaller scrapper, then reverse the blade, but why? The cost of another one of those plastic caps is next to nothing.One thing I did noticed is with the smaller scrapper, it has a real tendency to 'dig in' to whatever you are trying to scrap off (depending on angle and material). 3Best razor scraper ever! BEST - BEST razor scraper I have ever found! I've tried the little plastic ones, the stamped sheet metal ones, the one with the yellow screwdriver handle. Tried them all. I've even tried making my own before, because I wasn't satisfied with what I could find to buy.The handle is a good shape. It's sturdy.I had to remove old gummy paint from the walls & ceiling of an old bathroom. I would follow along after the heat gun with this scraper.I'm attaching a picture of it after we won the war.The blades that come with it seem to hold up really well, better than your typical single edge blade. It's sharper and stays sharp better then sharpening a thick scraper putty knife.The screw on it works fine with a phillips screwdriver by the way. 5The best strong scraper out there These scrapers are really strong. I was using the cheap ones they sell at any hardware store but the cheap scraper kept breaking or twisting so I decided to give thee Titan razor scraper a try. They are super strong and very comfortable in your hand. I had to scrape a cement floor that was covered in latex paint (very bad job on the previous owners of the house that used that area of my house to paint everything they remodeled before they sold us our home) so that we could put tile on top of it. These razors (including their extra strength blades) really make the difference, making the job more easy to do, much faster and more comfortable to your hands. I will recommend these to anyone looking for a sturdy razor scraper but make sure you also buy their super strong blades, you can use the cheap ones as well but trust me, the extra strong ones will make your life easier.Extra tip: Make sure you change the blades often if you are doing a big scraping job. 5i finally got tired of fiddling with those cheap, ... i finally got tired of fiddling with those cheap, stamped, metal razor scrapers. the short unit does the job on most small projects, no problem. the long handle unit is really the reason i purchased the set. this allows for a steeper angle of application when placing it on window glass, or when you want to be extra careful about not gouging the surface you're working on. both units seem well built and should hold up well, unless you try to use the long one as a pry bar or a hammer. i foresee no problems as far as razor thickness. the tension screw seems to hold standard safety razors, as well as the razors that came with the set, with no problem. 5this sounds like a silly thing to really weigh against other scrapers I remove caulk and silicone in my work all day long. I probably go through 1000+ blades a month.The first Titan I found was at an auto parts store of all places, and purchased on a whim. Ever since, I will use nothing else.The sliding design cheap scrapers don't hold up to impacts or hard pressure, and slide back in.Other cheap screw in models break at the metal 'wings' that slide in the half moon on the blade. Although not sharpened, that part of the blade is thin enough to cut at and eventually break off those wings. Titan must use a different metal, as I've never broken this part of one.All my replacements are due to losing the tool, or the screw that holds the plate on the head.Speaking of the screws, this sounds like a silly thing to really weigh against other scrapers, but the screw is much better as well. It is larger, similar in size to a PC case screw (although slightly lower in height) and is easily gripped. Sometimes after some impacts on a blade, the screw can be difficult to remove. On some smaller head screws, you'll be reaching for an allen key or screwdriver where the Titan will still be hand removable. If it jams too much for the hands, Titan uses a phillips head screw rather than an allen key for removal. I much prefer this.I've stripped so much paint in my days, using a scraper more than a spray gun it seems. I cannot possible endorse this beast of a tool enough. It's worth the couple bucks more by such an immense margin. Nothing at the big 2 hardware stores in town comes even remotely close to this in terms of quality. If you need a scraper for anything more serious than getting a sticker off a window, buy this thing. 5
