    ... the application i wanted but appears to be of good quality for the pricedoes fit for the application i wanted but appears to be of good quality for the price. 4Functional and InexpensiveThe Good:- The product is well-balanced between cost and quality.- Pins fit the Motorola PR400 for which I purchased it *very* securely. I've only used it a handful of shifts, but it takes deliberate effort to remove it after inserted (you could hold the cord and drop the radio without issue of disconnection).- Output is very clear and loud (I rarely turn my volume above ~80% because it is uncomfortably loud above that).- No issues with co-workers copying my traffic, even in noisy environments.- The "clip" has 8 positions of rotation (45-degree angles).The Bad:- The "clip", if you can even consider it that, is by far the worst thing about this product; it's really better described as a hook. The spring has virtually no tension, so it doesn't actually grab anything to which you try attaching it. The work-around for this is to bring it around your back and over the shoulder and hooking the mic on your shirt placket under a button so the tension of the cord holds it in place.- The type of plastic used for the cord is very rigid, which makes it less responsive and springy than the sheath used on what you get with a higher-quality/Motorola mic. If you pull it over your shoulder (which you basically have to do because of the prior point mentioned) and stretch it too far, you'll have to wait a while for it to re-contract; if you do this, you'll either have to clip it lower or expect it to fall off your shirt and hang over your shoulder for a while.- The tactile feedback for the PTT key is inconsistent. Sometimes, you feel a distinct and satisfying "click", and other times you feel nothing and have to rely on the fact that you're applying pressure to the button and wait for a copy from whoever you're addressing to confirm your transmission went through. I suspect this is due to the positioning and/or the weakness of the spring used for this button.Other Remarks:- It has no effect on function, so I can't consider it "bad", but the plastic used for the mic itself has a shiny quality to it in comparison to the more matte finish of similar products of a higher quality. This, and arguably the shape and smaller size of it, give it a toy-ish "cheap" appearance.- I haven't used the jack provided on the mic for covert/private output, so I have nothing good or bad to contribute on this feature's functionality. I will say that the rubber seal is snug and I have every reason to believe it would keep the jack clear of moisture and debris, though I have not tested this. 4no goodnever worked at all, pure garbage 1Tough with good sound.I wear this when Foxhunting to hear the other staff members as we use radios to keep up with what's happening and where. Its held up to over a season of galloping across the fields/ wind/rain/ being thrown around in a trailer. I can hear and be heard even in the wind and rain. 5This is my second speaker/mic. The first one failed ...This is my second speaker/mic. The first one failed after a short period. When they work they work well but pre-mature failure may be an issue. 3Excellent quality for the priceThe perfect addition to my CLS Motorola walkie! It has held up well against minor exposure to the outdoor elements and provides just enough slack to reach my shoulder from the walkie on my hip (despite being 6'9").
