This is not true. The box comes with all kinds of insets (black plastic adapters) that allow use with different switches and plugs. 5Five StarsGot them all over the yard 5Sturdy, Versatile and Easy to InstallI'm a Taymac fanboy, I own many Taymac products. These are the first dual-gang enclosures I've purchased. The casing is sturdy plastic and the casing with the gasket is easy to install - a minute or two is all it takes. The included faceplate options allow many, many more switch and receptacle combinations and orientations and shapes than I'll ever use. If you need a water-resistant cover for a receptacle or switch with occasional use, this should work fine. In my opinion, it's not meant for use with a power cord that's always plugged in, as the cover isn't deep enough to allow any but the thinnest (and probably interior grade) power cords to fit with the cover closed. My only minor gripe - I would like the cover and hinges to be a little thicker but they're fine as-is if not abused. Finally, this product is made in North America, specifically Mexico. It's not made in the USA but at least it's closer to home than Asia. 5Easy to install and works greatI used this flat cover to install Lutron Caseta wifi switches for my dock lights and it works perfectly. 5Keeps things clean and dryKeeps things clean and dry 5cover is loose but still water tightthe cover doesnt snap down very tightly and is loose, but unit still protects from water. wish the cover was tighter but it will do. 3Be care what you order, as this cover is NOT for in use operation.The description of this item says in the specs that it is 5 inches by 5 inches by 5 inches, exactly what I needed in an extra deep cover for "in use" operation. I ordered 2 of them and they got delivered into my mailbox. Now how can a 5 inch thick item possibly fit into my mailbox slot? They were each in its own jiffy bag. When I opened the packages, I saw that this item is only barely 1.5 inches thick. I then looked this item up on HD's website and it is described as only 5/8 inch thick. This cover is designed to be used only as a weatherproof cover with no cords or devices plugged into the receptacles it is covering; just a cover, not an in use cover. I gave it only one star because of wasting my time with an incorrect description and me ordering it based on that description. The item itself is probably fine, as all Hubbell products have been in my experience, but you have to describe the item properly as it is, so prospective customers are not mislead. They sent it to me in 2 separate jiffy bags, but the return label they issued me with one tracking number says it is one of one packages, so I taped the 2 bags together and applied the one label. Off to UPS now. Yes, I did write this while I am angry, lol. AAAARG!For what it is worth, the item I really needed is the 2 gang, extra deep Hubbell Taymac MM7740C that Amazon seems not not to carry. I placed a Web order on HD's website; very pricey, but it is what I need. 1Hubbell Taymac MM1410C Two Gang 55 in 1 Weatherproof Flat Cover, ClearFor the price, $7.97 with free delivery with a Prime membership, this Hubbell Taymac MM1410C Two Gang 55 in 1 Weatherproof Flat Cover, Clear is a good buy. It is not as heavy as I would have wished and the contents included, for different outlet, switch arrangements for configuration in the box is a good plus, as it can be used for different devices. If it would have been a heavier, sturdier product and the hinge not so hard to assemble, it would have gotten 5 stars. I thought I might have broken it when it loudly snapped together with my push down to get it together. This cover allows the receptacles or switches inside to be seen easily and the cover has no spaces on the seal to allow bugs or crawling creatures to get inside, with out something keeping the lid from completely closing. I like it enough for 4 stars, though. 4
