    Clever design but difficult with a flat molded cord and no rubber insert. It s all plastic so I m not sure how durable it would be outside but for under my sink it s fine. I installed a dishwasher and added a flat molder cable to it rather than a hard wire so I needed an outlet under the sink. Since there s always a possibility of a leak I wanted to put a cover over the plug. This is a good one and it covers a flat plug with very little extension. However, the hole on the left side to feed the cord through is tough with a cable that doesn t bend easily a round cable would be no problem. If the exit hole were centered in the middle it would be an improvement. It ll keep the water away from the plug and doesn t extend out far like many other in-use covers so it works for me. The part that keeps the water out is not a piece of rubber that covers the outlet like many other models but just a thin piece of foam all the way around on the inside and if that little piece on the top gets damaged you ll have a wet outlet. I have about a dozen outdoor outlets between several buildings on my property that get a lot of hot summer sun and they are now all metal because plastic didn t hold up very well though that s a general statement and not specific to this cover. 4Has "Extra Duty" rating, complies with NEC 2014 electical code for wet location installations. This Taymac ML500G wet location outlet cover is very low profile when not being used, so it looks much nicer than traditional while-in-use covers. When a cord is plugged-in the front plastic section extends like an accordion and everything inside remains protected and dry.The ML500G is clearly marked "Extra Duty" on the front cover, so it complies with the 2014 NEC code requirements for wet location single gang outlet installations.By the way, I previously installed several Taymac's ML450G covers that are sold by my local big-box hardware store. Although it is a different part number, it looks identical to this one and both have the Extra Duty labeling. So if you like the ML450G then I expect that you'll like the ML500 too. The photo below shows close-ups of the ML450G & ML500G covers that were installed in my patio area. 5Works perfectly as expected Quality materials, easy to install. Included adapters for many different installation needs. 5 minute install from start to finish.Expands to cover my 90-degree USB adapter. 5A good idea - could be great someday. Interesting type of in-use outlet cover. It could be easier to operate the Bellows door though. Tay-Mac needs to improve the design of the Bellows door so that any adult can easily use this outlet. 5Waterproof and smart looking! This is a great product that lives up to its promise. Here is an IMPORTANT NOTICE! You must buy FLAT PLUG cords to use this. The expansion portion is not enough to give adequate space and it seriously bends the cord back from the plug - causing separation and damage to your plug. Plus it s not big enough to handle actual heavy duty outdoor plugs of more than one. So,.. it s nifty and keeps water out but it does not really work to allow plugs to remain plugged in and with the cover closed. 4Great cover The outlet took a little playing with to understand. After installing you pop the hinged cover up and plug in what you need then close the hinged cover with the wires guided to the lower left corner of the outlet. The hinged cover expands outward to compensate for the room taken out by the protruding plug while remaining waterproof due to an accordion rubber piece that comes out with the expanded cover. 5Great design I bought these to replace the typical outdoor outlet covers with the doors since I leave things plugged in when it is raining/snowing. The design is perfect as it keeps the outlet weather tight when in use and is non-obtrusive when not in use. 5Not as good as they used to be, but still get the job done. Not as good as these used to be. They made this heavy duty, and in the process they changed it to plates that can swap out for duplex, switch, or decor. These pieces that swap out now make the cover a tiny bit thicker making them not sit flush with the outlet anymore. 3Nice Modern Look Great looking cover, that combines function and form. Will have to see how long the clear plastic stays clear... 5Great outdoor covers. I installed these on my from porch so I could install my Christmas lights. I was able to get some wifi plugs and a flat end extension cord in them to allow me to set my lights to WIFI. 5
