Customer Reviews

Too Big!Did not seem to help my bandwidth. I could have likely played around with directional antennae - but because they are so large, they did not stay in desired positions. Also very large and looked odd. Bought a Range Extender instead.2They do what they are meant for.So, if you are looking to increase wifi even say 200 feet or less these aren't what you are looking for. Don't just buy them for that, you'll be disappointed and leave bad reviews. If you do your homework 12dBi have ranges in "miles". That doesn't mean it will increase in a close proximity. It won't unless you are lucky to get that 5% improvement. Around the "tops" of the antennae the signal is concentrated in what can be called a lighthouse pattern around the antennae of near 20 degrees only, or less. I didn't buy these to transmit a signal though. I bought them to receive them. And I gotta say it's pretty amusing all the unprotected networks who knows how far from me. Though of course 99% of the time my signal will be coming from my primary residence.I will say, had them only 2 days and they are literally taped in place in a window to keep them in place. takes a smalll amount of time for them to plop over, and over. Oh, and over.4Great improvement especially on 2.4GhzI have an ASUS (RT-AC68U) Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router. Initially I wasn't terribly impressed with the range I was getting on it. I think the stock antennas underperform. My previous router the NETGEAR N900 Dual Band Gigabit Wifi Router (WNDR4500v2) had great range and in retrospect has the best range of any router I've ever used. I'd have to do more testing to be sure, but I believe that with these antennas my RT-AC68U now at least matches if not exceeds the Netgear WNDR4500 (which by the way has internal antennas.)I bought the 9dBi versions of these antennas ( Super Power Supply 3 x 9dBi 2.4GHz 5GHz Dual Band WiFi RP-SMA Antenna for Routers ASUS RT-N16 RT-N66U RT-AC66U RT-AC1750 D-Link DIR-655 DIR-665 Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H TP-Link TL-WR1043ND TL-WR2543ND TL-WDR4300 Omni Directional Network Extension Mini PCIe... ) not realizing they had (these) 12dBi antennas were available. The 9dBi antennas did improve the range but I wanted slightly better so I went for these 12dBi.After upgrading to these 12dBi antennas I noticed an immediate improvement. Now all corners of my house have nearly perfect performance. I'm also seeing usable performance in my driveway which is the most challenging spot. With the stock Asus antennas I could only get an intermitent lock on the WiFi, it would drop regularly, and I would get time-outs with transfer speeds around 300Kbps. With the 9dBi, I almost got a useful signal with inconsistent 1-3Mbps, but with these 12dBi I get a minimum of 15Mbps throughput (which I'm more than thrilled to have there.) I have plenty of neighbor WiFi interference so performing above the noise is part of my challenge. My AP is located toward the rear of the house. I could move it to a more central location for better all around coverage but I prefer this location for a few reasons. I see excellent throughput throughout the house, backyard, and very good (>50Mbps) on the front porch. Even about 15Mbps on the driveway which as I said was unreachable before.I don't know if the 5Ghz performance has improved much as I haven't done much in the way of before and after tests. I can tell you it's at least better, but by how much I'm not sure. 5Ghz works great throughout my interior house as it is and it wasn't a problem before. I was only concerned with getting 2.4Ghz to work outside and making it perform solid inside.I also have the Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station (ME918LL/A) and with these 12dBi antennas on the RT-AC68U kick the pants off of the Apple. With stock antennas the Apple Airport Extreme was slightly better than the Asus. These antennas are about 2ft long, but they do improve performance and are worth the ~$20 just to try it.5This product is OKThese work and I do see some improvement but Don't expect anything miraculous. They did bring the 5 gz band up from 4 bands to 5, but it is just sometimes 5 and sometimes 4. Have tried changing antenna position and router position. very little difference.3Big BIG antennas, they workDon't expect miracles but they work, increased connectivity and threw put. It's 2.4ghz lots of loose threw free space and three walls. This will deff help you out but don't expect to go a whole mile away but 100 yards away I still had usable signal with these. And for 5ghz same story.3Wobbly & fragile, but, they workThey gave us enough additional gain to get signal to a DVR in the basement. Three stars cause they don't stand up on their own. There is almost no friction in the swivel joints. Also, be careful, we dropped one from waist high & it snapped. Fortunately the wire did not get damaged so a little duck tape fixed it.3LONGER and HEAVIER than I expected.I bought these to go with an ASUS RT-AC66U. They will screw on the router - and, if the router is standing using the stand - they will probably work.I bought these so I could lay my router flat - and when you bend these antennas 90 - they fall over - they are too heavy. If they cost much more than they did - I'd return them. But this price - it's really not worth the hassle.2Larger large dual band omni antennas for routers including ASUSThese work fine and I measured the Receive dB and without a doubt I was able to pick up networks further away and was showing an almost general -5dB improvement across the board with all local access point/ routers, however with an antenna this big it is also nice to be able to bump up your transmit power, however the FCC is trying to crack down on anyone going over 80-100mW transmit power, which is lame.4They don't work and fall apart.Very poor quality. The antenna fell apart taking them out of the packaging. The housing on all three antennas is not adhered to the base. The inner antenna just pulls of the base. I pushed them back together but they fall apart again very easily. It did some performance testing. They actually decreased my range by 2 dbi on 5 g and 5 dbi on 2.4g. I tested with both my rt-ac68u and rt-ac66u and got the same result. Don't waste your money. By asus's option high gain antenna it actually works.1Very big antennas, nice WIFI difference. These antenna were used to boost my wifi signal slightly. It worked exactly as described, and for the price it works pretty well. They are tall and don't expect to be able to position these at any extreme angle and stay put. Also I noticed that moving the antenna caused them to unscrew from the router slightly and deteriorate the signal. So that is something to keep an eye out for.5
