Extremely Bright, Well Put Together, and Efficient Bulbs These lights exceeded my expectations in every way, I am very happy with them!If you are doing new installation of can lights in your house a setup like this is the cheaper route to go by a long shot. After your cans are installed in the ceiling you need trim and you need bulbs, at my local hardware store a diffuser trim like the ones that come on these lights costs about $15 per trim, and then a bulb is about $2, but with these lights you get trim and lights in one package for around $7 per can AND you get a seamless look.First, they are very bright, we installed 4 of these in our bedrooms (a 10x10 and a 10x12 room) and they make it as bright as it would be on a sunny day with the blinds open, the light these things put out is spectacular. We also have ceiling fans in these rooms and the 5000k lights match the 5000k light bulbs that are in the fan, so the color is true as well.These also install fairly easily, the spring on them are strong enough to hold them into place but easily bend so you can install them, I have installed many trims that have painfully strong springs, but these install very easily.I highly, highly recommend these lights for any new installations or for any retrofits. 5Simple, inexpensive upgrade Excellent product and a breeze to install. Baffles are durable and can take some manhandling as you might find yourself fiddling with repositioning the springs. Consumption is half of what our old 26w CFLs were with more evenly distributed light. It's a nice bright white that isn't overpowering (despite what my pics may look like). Price is in line with most retail big box stores.And don't be afraid to utilize these in a ballast application. You simply need to test all of them by screwing into a standard medium lamp fixture and applying power. Once you've confirmed none are defective, cut off the E26 adapter ends, pull old baffles/reflectors, then remove the can housings (hopefully yours have screws holding them to the frame). Disconnect power, pop off the access cover to the wiring box and wire directly to the hot and neutral feeding the fixture box, disconnecting and bypassing the ballast wiring. There are no doubt numerous how-to videos out there to help with this. Bottom line is that you do not need to rip out and replace old CFL fixtures to utilize these. Black to black and white to white. Done. 5Beware, electro magnetic interference. I bought several boxes of these LED lights and found out at least one, if not all, of the boxes contained non compliant lights. FCC requires LED lights meet specifications that the manufacturer provide shielding of EMF so as to not interfere with radio, TV or any other electronic equipment. I now get an incredible amount of noise and static on my radio caused by these lights in my home. Sunco will be named in my FCC report of non compliance. If you will be purchasing LED lighting be sure to check for FCC approval on product. 1Good lighting at a good price, but comes with headaches. Over the years I have purchased nearly 25 of these units. They work great, the light is ample and the color spectrums are accurate.Installation is a pain due to the lack of quality in the little installation springs. Out of the 25 I installed, perhaps 12 of the springs simply popped off. My tip, grab the ends and pull them together while keeping the this perpendicular to the face of the light. This will help prevent them pop off most of the time. It's tricky, but it helps.After wrestling with trying to push these things into the ceiling, some of them won't sit completely flush. Yeah it's unfortunate and really bugs me, but fixable with a little bit of caulking. Note this only happens with a few units, again due to the poor spring mounting system.Dimmer performance is surprisingly good, You can get them fairly low once you turn them on to a 25% intensity and then back down. They will begin to flicker below a certain point and make a slight noise at very low intensities, but it's nearly inaudible. My other LED lighting in the home doesn't dim as low as these, and others are much louder, particularly Philips, at the same dim levels.So, they work great but be cautious of installation. If the price holds, they are a solid fixture. 4I liked the lights with a little tweaking they would be ... I liked the lights with a little tweaking they would be great. The problem I had with them was loose wire connections (easily fixed) but not to my customer. She was not impressed when I turned on the first one and it blinked and would not light up. I removed it to find the neutral wire was dislodged from the stab coupling. Easy fix was to twist tightened the wire end and reinsert in the stab connection. This worked but again customer was leary and thought if the wire were to dislodge again it would start a fire. There was no consoling her that it would not happen and she refused to let me install them. I had to return all 12 even after I explained that it was a well made product and would not be unsafe.I did want to address the negative issue from one handyman that the V spring would not hold the lights up and had to add adhesive and painters tape to hold the lights up must not have had cans with C clips and expected the fixture to stay put with the friction of the V springs alone which would never work. A small adjustment of retrofitting the can with C clips or removing the V springs from the fixture and adding friction clips to it instead would have solved that problem. All in All a nice product for a fair price...only sorry that I didn't have another customer to use them with. 4Springs Not The Problem!! Other reviews talk about problems or defects with the mounting springs that are used to install the light to the ceiling can. Note the fact that these lights are made to fit both 5" & 6" cans. The springs are set at the factory for a 5" can. However, each spring is affixed to the light with a screw on the mounting bracket that allows for an extension on both to accommodate any 6" can. If you try to install the light that is factory set to 5" in a 6" can without "extending" this bracket the spring bracket will come off, or the light will not seat properly. I have mounted at least 25 of these in my home and never experienced any installation problems. So where's the problem? The INSTRUCTIONS which are poor and don't explain this. Common issue with "overseas" merchandise. This particular products quality is just about the same regardless which company makes them or where you buy them. So if you understand the above, take a chance and get them, the price is reasonable, lower than the "Big Box" stores that have a limited selection. Good luck!! 4Now my house is BRIGHT and so nice. Before you buy Don t think twice just buy. Did my whole house. I needed two (12) packs. Now my house is BRIGHT and so nice. Before you buy, check your current cans. Remove bulb. Pull down trim. If your trims go in with spring clips (Y-shaped wires) you got it made! That means your cans have C-Clips inside for those springs to go into. These Sunco trims work exactly the same. If your trims do not have C-clips then you have to buy aftermarket ones on Amazon. You won t find them anywhere else. You need them only if your cans don t have spring clip c-clips. If you have to buy c-clips you need two per can. You will need a 90-Deg drill attachment. I bought the $17 one from Dewalt on Amazon. Works awesome. I ll be able to use it a lot in the future. Anyway - these LED trims are less expensive than what you can find in the big box stores and they are just GRAND. Awesome bright light. Love it. My whole house is alive with bright light. Think about this - I had 65w can lights and I replaced (24) of them with these 13w trims. I m saving 1248w!!! That s a huge savings and the light is so much better. Buy them. Do it. Do it. Joe 5AWSOME PRODUCT!!! Wonderful product worth every penny. Very affordable compared to big box stores. It can cost an arm and a leg to purchase 5000k lighting and these fit the bill for my wallet. But price point asside the look fantastic complete changes the look and feel of my entire house. I had originally purchased led lighting for my whole house when I installed all new lighting fixtures but I had to settle for 3000k lighting because I purchased it from a big box store and could not afford the better lighting. But it just looked to dingy and was not the look i hoped for. so I eventually found these and tried them out. Let's just say my entire house is now lit by these lights. Id recommend them to anyone. So don't hesitate.And if your someone looking for an even better deal i have also purchased these through Amazon warehouse deals which just means that the product package may have got damaged but the lighting or product inside is still in good condition and you get to save a little bit. I have not had any problems. And if there is you can return them and try again no big deal that's why I use Amazon for everything.I have provided a comparison picture. The left side is with the 3000k lighting and on the right is the 5000k Sunco lighting big difference much cleaner really brings out the colors of a room not that yellowish color. 5junk, save your money I have used this type of light replacement before and had no problems. These I just ordered from Amazon (Sunco) are the worst I ever come across. The fixture is fine, the light is fine, it is the spring that holds the light in the can. Soon as you squeeze it to mount it in the can it flies off across the room. It seems that Sunco thinks that a metal tab 1/8 of an inch long should be able to hold the spring in place. Well it won't no matter what you do. I found myself out in my shop, drilling the metal brackets and placing a screw and washers on each side to hold the spring. Save your time and money and buy a different brand. Amazon shame on you for selling junk like this. 1Best Buy for 5,000 Kelvin can lights This is a good quality LED light. I installed 15 of a different brand about 3 years ago, needed 3 more, but the company is no longer available. I researched and bought this based on reviews. It s usually a coin flip with LED lights and it s either a deal or a dud.This light is easy to install and lights up instantly when turned on. I installed 3 of these in my home office and connected them to a Lutron dimmer switch because I knew they would be very bright. The dimming feature works out great with no buzz on the low or high setting. I m happy with the purchase.The only thing to know is that the mounting springs are made for standard deep recessed can lights. I have shallow light housings in my home, so I needed to trim the springs that slide into the housing with a pair of pliers. This way they will sit flush and not hit the top of the housing. I cut off maybe an inch and a half on either side. Not a problem as far as I m concerned.I would rather get my pliers and trim the springs then to have an inferior light that the springs fit perfectly.I will be buying more. 5
