    bright,better than i thought bright,well made, i should of bought this first instead of the other cheapys 5Inspect hard to reach places As a welding inspector for commercial, residential and public buildings and bridges I get sent to look at some difficult to reach areas off ladders, in deep trenches or 17 stories up a steel frame. The areas that I look at are poorly lit and at times I have to use a mirror to see all areas, this light gets me 100% coverage for what I need to do.The bad news is that this light takes AAAA (quadruple A) batteries, if you don't stock up and carry extras this light is nothing but dead weight in your pocket. A fresh set of batteries do last about 4 weeks or so for me, product says they're rated to 60 hours. I keep a fresh pack of batteries in my canvas bucket just in case, of course I keep an extra light as well.The flexible cable is tough and the entire light fits snugly in any of my coverall pockets.The LED tip is unprotected, scuffs easily, but the brightness doesn't seem to be affected by this.UPDATE- 2/6/2012This little wonder is going strong!The plastic casing around the flexible shaft is severely worn, but that's cosmetic. Everything else is working just like the first week I started using it.Buy this light for tight spot illumination. 4Very bright for its size. I really love this light.... I use it for a bore inspection light, although it is almost too bright for that. It's a Streamlight, so you know it's quality. I see a lot of other people in the reviews complaining because they can only momentarily turn it on by holding the button down, but it plainly says in the instructions for continuous use, turn the tailcap, which does indeed cause this light to power on continuously. 5Useful I've owned it now for a little over 3 weeks. I have not used it everyday. I have a small area I have to inspect and it's faster using this tool. The only drawback is that I have to hold the button for the light to stay on. But then again.......likely to help make the batteries last longer!!! 4Good. But no instructions. This is a bright light. Pocket clip like a ball point pen. I can see using this light a great deal. There are no instructions that came with the light. There is a button on the top. But the button is only there for "momentary" light. You have to keep the button pushed. HOWEVER, if you want the light to stay on without pushing the button you simply turn the knurled end with the button CLOCKWISE as you look down at the button and the movement will stop and the light stays ON. That is like some other flashlight products where you twist them to come on and twist them to turn off. That little tidbit of information should have been included with a little illustrated card. It seems very well built out of very good materials. 4This review is for the Streamlight 65618 Stylus Reach Pen Light This is my 3rd one. Love these things, especially when I get them for less then $19 US. I have to pay over $30 retail where I live. The same retailer wants $19 for just 2 of the Quad A batteries, it doesn't take a math genius to figure why I buy from Amazon. I took off one star because the plastic sheath (the weakest point in my opinion) keeps cracking. I wonder if anyone thought of going silicon in this area? Of all flashlights I own, this one is used most often by far. Could be just the trade I'm in, electrical, it works great for peering into the nooks and crannies where wires and connections come loose or screws and nuts fall. It fits well into the same chest pocket as my pen/pencil and marker. Its always handy and is quick on/off or steady on with just a small twist of the fingers. 4They are easy enough to find on amazon This light does take an odd battery size AAAA. They are easy enough to find on amazon. I would suggest ordering some before you need them. The button on the end of the light can be held in to activate the light, or you can twist the end to lock the light on. The flexible part is very sturdy and i dont see it wearing out anytime soon. I am probably use this light about twice as often as i thought i would. 5I like this light for checking rifle bores on my personal ... I like this light for checking rifle bores on my personal firearms and buying used firearms. It is so bright though that if you point it straight up the bore and look in you won't be seeing well for a few minutes. Maybe a bit excessive, but well made. 4Flex hoes issue I've had this product for about two months, and the light works great for my line of work. Very bright for such a small snake light. Only issues I've had is the batteries are AAAA, and yes, (4 A) batteries. I couldn't find the batteries in the same bulk variety as others, such as, AA, OR AAA. The AAAA batteries drained fairly quick, I guess due to brightness? But just recently the bulb kept cutting on and off on it's own. I thought nothing of it, maybe just a connection issue when turn the light on. But just today, the light quit working all together. Turns out, it is a connection issue within the flexible head. When I held it a certain way, the bulb came back on. Then it finally died, no matter which way I held the flex head it didn't turn on. I guess the flex just couldn't hold up to multiple use. 3Perfect light for my gunsmithing work. I was pleasantly surprised how well this light works. Holy smokes it is bright. I need to defuse the light a little when looking down a shiny barrel.I actually did some research for the perfect pen light and settled on this one. No regrets at all. Be sure to twist the base right or left to turn the light on constant or off constant. I think it says this in the instructions. But, who reads the instructions for a pen light, right? 5
