Served its Purpose Didn't get to crazy with researching splitters. Read the reviews for this and decided to go with it. Me and my wife were able to watch a movie together on our flight. It was awesome to be able to do that!I will note that this cable was longer than it needed to be. It added some hassle and unnecessary weight when having to fiddle around plugging everything in. Plus it was a bit stiff.The sound quality wasn't great, but it was good enough. I found myself having to tweak the volume levels a bit.Overall, i would like to see a shorter, less bulky version but would recommend this. 3Fail (on my part) I wanted to split a signal so that I could listen to either speakers or headphones without having to crawl behind my large tower computer. The jacks didn't fit snugly into the splitter and unsurprisingly, I am only getting one channel out of my speakers and nothing out of my headphones.I'm altering this review because I realized when I went to remove the splitter that I hadn't pushed the jacks in until they snapped home. Obviously I was an idiot, the splitter works great when it is properly installed. 5Finally, a "splitter" that works I tried a few "splitter" cables at RatShack and Amazon that were actually not signal splitters, but they were signal separaters. That is, they would split a stereo signal into two separate leads -- one with the left and one with the right channel. It was really frustrating, but this cable actually is a signal splitter. If you want to share your laptop's, phone's, or tablet's audio with 2 outputs, then this is the cable to get. Skip all of the others.Tests fine with my Macbook Pro, Nexus 7, and HTC Incredible 2. 5It Works Kinda It works and the sound I'm getting is good. No crackling static or cuts. Was able to connect two of my bluetooth speakers via 3.5mm jack for some home theater sound. Was debating whether to pick up a sound bar but just got this splitter to do the job. BUT when I turn on my speakers they automatically go into dual stereo pairing mode. They will now sync whereas before this splitter they would not. It did have a 3.5mm audio input. Rather than try to buy adapters, converters and the works to get all my devices to link to it I tried this. My two main devices, a tv and xbox, only had RCA outs (the white and red audio cables for those that may not know). I already had RCA to 3.5mm male adapters, which are about the same price on Amazon. I simply connected the devices to those, and then used this to connect both to one sound bar input. No sound quality loss and it saves me the trouble of switching the input every time I want to play video games.I also carried one on to a plane this weekend. Let my buddy next to me listen to a movie on my iPad by connecting his headphones to one of the female sides.Be aware these are inexpensive so your not getting the best made product available. They work fine. 5Fantastic Friend The cheap amazon speakers don't come with a headphone jack on the front, so this saves me from bending around the back every dern time I want to switch between the two. Sturdy, thick cable. Its sound works great through both headphones and speaker, even at the same time. 5Perfect for airplanes. Just remember you need an adapter for iPhones This worked perfectly to duplicate the headphone into two headphone jacks. Just remember that if you are using an iPhone without a headphone jack, you need to use the adapter. If you don t have one, it might make sense to buy a lightning adapter or lightning to two headphone jacks. 5A True Signal Splitter I tested this today when it arrived (May 21, 2014). It was black, just as shown. I plugged the male end into my headphone port on my laptop running Windows 8.1. I tested each female end, separately, by plugging in my iPod earbuds into one female end. I ran the Windows test, which gives a "ding-dong" tune into the right and left speakers separately. I heard the "ding-dong" sound in one ear, and then the other ear. When I put the balance (in the Windows test box) down to zero on one speaker, I did not hear the corresponding "ding-dong" for that speaker, but did hear it for the other speaker (balance set to 66). I then unplugged the iPod ear bud from the one female end, and plugged it into the other female end, and received the same results from running the stereo test. This product sends left and right stereo signals to each female end. It does NOT separately send the left speaker signal to one end, the right speaker signal to the other female end. 5
