    They're just great Wonderful clamps a slide Road over a tattoo before. They sit flush with the two before so you can clamp anyting from about half inch to thick as you want 5Just don't expect much from the plastic bits. I bought this a few years ago and just had occasion to use it last weekend. I needed to straighten a twisted deck joist. It took 3 clamping attempts along the length of the twist and while this clamp did the job, it also broke on the 3rd clamping. The black piece that holds the clamping jaw to the yellow metal body cracked and broke clean off as I turned the handle. I ended up finishing the job with a proper pipe clamp but had to go buy a longer piece of pipe to get it done. When looking at the broken parts after, I also found that the majority of the "teeth" in the clamping body had sheered off. If this what a 100% steel construction tool it would have survived. Plastic was a bad choice. That said I can see this coming in handy if you don't need much clamping force but want to hold something in place over a longer distance than you typically would with a bar clamp. It stores very small obviously which is a nice plus. Just don't expect much from the plastic bits. 2Great idea - plastic parts. Brakes frequently. I was a little skeptic about the system but willing to try. I got impress. Any 2x4 will do and has a punch.I recommended... more than that I am ordering another pair.Reviewed: 21/21/17After ordering 4 pairs in the last 2 years and using them infrequently I have to admit two things, I wish the clamp system were all metal. All of my 5 pairs broke on the same place. The piece that has the mechanism is made out of plastic and after 2 or 3 uses you can see the feel the plastic fatigue. 1Only received half the clamp My wife bought this for me for my birthday, i opened this and only half the item was there. She then started the return on it, and we had family issues going on and didn't make the return window to return it so now i am stuck with half a clamp that is useless!! 1Great Product ! No more are my bar clamps just that last inch too short. 5Very cool idea on a mostly metal Clamp Weird mix of all metal frame and screw with a PLASTIC turn handle and clamp ends. The only plastic should have been the replaceable pads on the clamp ends. There are no instruction included so you need to decode the box. Removable non mar pad is a duplicate of the plastic non mar pad under it. Screw holes in the bracket let you increase clamping strength up to 850lbs of force. Love that you can add these to any 2x4 to create a super long clamp. Just buy more than one. Wish they included a tote bag for folks taking them to job sites. Overall happy with the purchase. 4The clamps on me! Works well with 2x4s as stated. However, I should have thought this item is for something 2--3ft in length. I tried it on a smaller project and the clamping system was longer and heavier than my project.So this item performs very well. It has great strength and ease of use. But only for something bigger than a small project.I am glad I purchased it. 5Very impressive and a handy idea I saw these new clamps advertised in Handyman magazine and had to try a set out. I can see where I'll be adding a few more sets and using my pipe clamps less for odd jobs around the house and woodworking. I like the idea of the 2x4 platform and find the clamps to be very well made. It didn't say in the directions but you can turn the clamps around and use them as a spreader too although it takes more time to wind the moveable jaw with it turned around versus have the end of the threads hanging off the end of a 2x4. I plan on getting the son-in-laws each a set for Christmas so mine stay around the house. 4A good find that work well. You can spend hundreds of dollars buying all sorts of sizes of clamps, or you can spend a couple hundred buying a few of these and then some smaller clamps. 2x4 is cheaper and these can adjust on them. If you really wanted a multi-size clamp, you could make peg holes in a 2x4 and then easily adjust it when needed. Takes up no room when storing. 4
