It doesn't bend when you look at it, and it will last you forever and it's got a lifetime warranty 5Not bad Not a bad square. I like that the marks are etched and not painted so I don't have to worry about them rubbing off. My only complaint is that it came with burs near the corner. I ended up having a to take a 90 grinder to clean it up. 4Stanley 45-912 8 Inch X 12 Inch Steel Carpenter'S Square I recently purchased a cheap, China made square and it was not even functional. The numbers and markings came off when removing a sticky label and cleaning up with Goo Gone. This Stanley is embossed and the marks are permanent. It was square when received and it is a nice addition to my drawing and cutting. I give it four stars and if it continues to perform, I will up the review to 5 stars. 4Poor quality control/manufacturing It is decent but poorly manufactured. The stamping process left a large bulb near the end of the square which makes the square pretty much useless. It causes an 1/8th inch deviation. Very disappointed in the quality of the finished product. If not for that it would have been a solid 4 star product. 2Great product for a great price. I am extremely satisfied with this square. It's accurate, sharp, true angle, and it's very sturdy. Not only was the price very low for such a high quality piece, but it shipped much faster than was estimated. Even for $3, however, I expected it would be square... but it's slightly out of square and the longer arm isn't even cut perfectly straight as it is slightly curved. It's okay for rough construction, but not for finer carpentry. I'll use it for outdoor projects when I can't find my good square. 2A very nice half size framing square. I need a slightly smaller framing square for smaller jobs and this square fit my needs perfectly. Nice size, clearly marked and is completely square. I would recommend and also buy again if needed. 5This doesn't even lay flat. It was (ever so ... This doesn't even lay flat. It was (ever so slightly) bowed out of the box. Now I am not a carpenter and was not using this for anything too intricate, but even with basic use of cutting through some paper with a utility knife, this was irritating because it doesn't lay flat. 2Slightly Off I don't believe it is a perfect 90 degree angle. It seems to be a bit off. I have to double measure which is a bit of a waste of time and there are small discrepancies. As I'm not professional woodworker I get by but would not recommend for someone that definitely needs 100% accuracy. 3
