    Old woman who LOVES THIS SHOWER HEAD!!! OMG!!!! I ve had pitiful water pressure in my neighborhood fo 20 years, and just accepted it. I hired a way too expensive plumbing service to replace a shower faucet that leaked, finally, and got slower pressure than I ve had for years. I started looking on amazon for help (I m a 66 Year old woman), and found the Speakman shower heads).I ve been screwed SOOOO many times by soooo many service people, I decided, in spite of Alzheimer s onset, to try myself. SOOO GLAD I DID!!!With much more effort than it would have taken someone many years my junior (but this old woman had little difficulty), I removed the worthless shower head that was installed 1 week ago, and replaced it with the Speakman 2252, turned on the shower (soaked my myself because I m not what I used to be), then removed the black O ring without removing the white plastic...and OMG!!! FANTASTIC!!! I wish I had a diverter so I could clean the shower like I have always done to bathe my small dog and avoid buildup/scum on the tub, but this will be soo well worth the effort!!!I am in the process of purchasing another one JUST LIKE IT so wherever I end up, when I leave here, I will have another and I will feel clean!!! 5Great head, but with one glaring flaw I have had Speakman heads for 15+ years. My original Anystream heads started to fail when the little O-ring on the flow reducer started coming off. The result was that you would have WAY too much flow (it felt like I was at a spa, but it was a total waste of water). This happened to two different heads, and surprisingly, they both developed the same problem within about a year of each other. I couldn't find a replacement O-ring and the company told me no replacement components were available for that head, so I was forced to buy the new S-2252.What I like about this head it that it is nearly ALL METAL. No plastic body, no plastic fittings. The only plastic is in the "guts". So this thing is very heavy and has a very high-quality feel to it. The spray adjustment works exactly like my original Speakmans. I generally use it at it's hardest setting, but you can soften the force with a simple rotation of the lever.The big negative I found was that it's very difficult to change the angle of this head once installed. If you have short people and tall people using the same shower, or if you like to change the angle during your shower, you may not like this head. It can be changed, but it requires a lot of force/torque on the head and it may cause strain on the pipes, depending on your plumbing setup. It's just very stiff. I keep hoping it will loosen up over time, but after a few months, I haven't noticed much improvement. I actually use two hands to do it, because I'm afraid of bending something.So, buyer beware! 3Tasteful, compact shower head with several built in streams Smooth, fluid motion via the handle gives a fair variation in streams.Pressure seems great, you may not even need to remove the flow restrictor though I am adding a photo showing what it looks likeInside the back of the head you will see a black O ring. That is the restrictor. You can remove just this and then have the option of re-installing it later or completely remove all the white plastic inside for maximum flow but no option to restrict it again later 5Good water flow if you remove water restrictor This is a very nice shower head with good water flow, provided you remove the water restrictor. It is a very heavy piece of brass and seems to be high quality. If you want a concentrated water flow (especially for rinsing long hair,) buy the six jet and not the eight jet. I am only giving this 4 stars because my old shower head (very similar design) had only four jets, and I could really set that one on a concentrated flow for rinsing my hair. Our water pressure is not that great, but this shower head still works very nicely. The best way to remove that water restrictor is by following the advice of one reviewer who said to drill a small hole in the center of it and to insert a screw and pull it out. My husband did this and had it out of there in less than five minutes. 4Amazing shower head. Ok so I spent a long time looking at dozens of shower heads, reading reviews, specs and got to the point I went cross-eyed scrolling through them. I finally put needs and quality before overall price and ordered the Speakman S-2252. I like the high quality construction and heavy solid feel of the solid brass body. It's really heavy, enough to where I was concerned about break a tile or my foot if I dropped it. I paired it with the Speakman Rio 5 handheld shower head and a basic peerless 3 way diverter. I much rather would have had a solid brass diverter but those are surprisingly hard to find not to mention being sure it was able to operate both the shower head and handheld simultaneously.Once I got the order I immediately pulled out the flow restrictors in the S-2252, the Rio 5 and the diverter. (Sneaky bastards hide those things in everything) I also went as far as to drill out the diverter openings from an 1/8" to 5/16". After everything was said and done I couldn't believe the amazing pressure and overall shower experience! Why I waited so long to treat myself to a spa like shower is beyond me. I never knew there were so many regulations the government tries to do to restrict the water flow.Overall I'm a happy customer and would definitely recommend these Speakman shower heads to anyone looking to increase pressure and pleasure. 5Great product Solid shower head with easy to adjust spray patterns. Our water is known for being particularly hard and, thus, the individual nozzles on other shower heads regular clog or fill with bits of calcium. When this happens, you have to remove the shower head and either brush out the bits of calcium or soak the head in a solution to dissolve the calcium. With this Speakman shower head, you just temporarily adjust the spray pattern and whatever bits calcium may have been obstructing the nozzles falls out. 5Let thy flesh be cleansed! I have to admit. I have a problem. I'm addicted to water pressure. Just can't live without it. And if high pressure showers are wrong, I don't wanna be right!My version of a successful shower is the peace of mind of knowing that when I step out, one full layer of epidermis has been thoroughly expunged. I live for the feeling of pure, unadulterated water power pressure washing everything away.So imagine my disappointment when my first ever house purchase, though full of water pressure potential, left something to be desired. The cleansing ability lay dormant, with no device present to harness this latent power. Undeterred, I searched until the instrument of my shower salvation was discovered.The Speakman S-2252 Anystream is one of those dying breeds that lives by the ages old yet dying creed, "Do one thing, and do it well." This shower head delivers power. Raw, unapologetic power. But that is something to be described a little later.The first thing you notice about this shower head is that, despite it's rather diminutive size, it is hefty. There is no mistaking whether this item is made of quality materials. Gravity and mass make sure of that. Solid brass, made to last.The second trait is simplicity. There is no rotary dial with 100 settings. There is simply a lever on the side that moves the 8 nozzles on the face of the head in and out. When moved in the nozzles "squeeze" the water, like your finger covering the end of a hose, giving you defined jets of water and higher pressure. When moved out the nozzles allow free flow of water. Less pressure, but much higher flow. The beauty is that even with such simplicity, the lever can be stopped anywhere you like to adjust streams and pressure to your liking. You really do have the option of "Anystream".Instructions for installation were included and were simple and clear. Like most shower heads, installation isn't rocket science, but if you've never done it before, the instructions make it pretty difficult to mess up. Also included was a small roll of Teflon tape. I was quite pleased with this, as I had misplaced my own roll. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that there is probably enough tape included for 3 installs, so the rest was thrown into the toolbox to be put to future use.Then, to the moment of truth. I turned on the shower and no leakage. But the pressure. Oh! The pressure! I hadn't even stepped into the shower, yet I knew I had found what I had been looking for. I could feel the rush of air as it moved out of the way of the water. I smiled. This was the moment I had been waiting for. I stepped in...I can only describe the shower experience with one word... Joy. My wife will testify to the fact that I was giggling like a schoolgirl the entire time. Like Michael Jordan clutching his first NBA championship trophy, I embraced the water as a long lost friend. This was what I had searched so long for. The perfect shower experience. When the nozzles of the head are turned out for full flow, it's like having someone continually pour buckets of water on your head. Need to rinse off some soap? Done. In an instant. There is no waiting here. But, when you really want to step to the next level, turn that lever all the way over and you will be met with something only a step below a fire hose. On its highest setting, the jets that flew from this shower head stung me. That's not an exaggeration. They literally stung. Some might not find that appealing. I, however, could do nothing but grin like the kid who just received his first bike.Am I satisfied with my purchase? Oh yes. This shower head is not for the faint of heart. But if you have the courage to enter the heart of darkness, you WILL emerge victorious. You will emerge refreshed. You may even be a new person. But one thing is sure. Your flesh will be cleansed.(One thing to note. As most shower heads do, this one came with a flow regulator pre-installed. It is a simple plastic piece fitted into the connector end of the head. If you are like me and don't enjoy feeling restricted in your shower taking, you will want to remove this piece. Of all the things that I tried, I would recommend a pick or pointed Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. After fiddling with it for a few minutes trying other methods, one good whack with the screwdriver on the inner edge of the plastic had it dislodged immediately. I am more than happy that I removed this piece. However, considering just how absurdly good this shower head is, I would suggest trying it with the regulator in place first. I would have to think that it will be more than capable even with governmental shackles on it. When I purchase another one of these for the guest bathroom I will most likely leave the regulator in at first to compare. I will try to remember to update this review at that time when I do.) 5This is the total ultimate showerhead. If you want ... This is the total ultimate showerhead. If you want "empty the reservoir" water flow, "in my past life I was a fish", "niagara falls" showers... well baby, this is it. Solid metal construction, this thing weighs more than your shower fittings altogether. There's no plastic parts here. And, the water restrictor is, uh, "accessible". Just in case it requires "adjustment" with some needle nose pliers. (You full-flow shower-takers know what i'm talking about.) Seriously though, this thing is the bomb, comes with the thickest teflon tape I've ever seen, and install was a breeze. you can literally put it on with no tools. You will not regret getting this, and you wont have to make another showerhead decision after this because it's so solid, it will outlive you. 5OH, JOY! It took me about 10 minutes to install this WONDERFUL shower head. The first 5 minutes involved me trying to locate my adjustable wrench, which turned out to be just a little too small...so I used a channel wrench. After that, it was easy. As for the shower head, it is the best I've ever had. Fully adjustable from flood to fine. I have kinky, thick hair, and rinsing out shampoo is a breeze. Well worth the money. They recommend using a wax to protect the chrome from spotting. I used FLITZ (available on Amazon), and water rolls right off. I saved the old shower head -- because if I ever move, the Speakman is going with me! 5Expensive solid construction with decent pressure and coverage I did a product test between 4 different high pressure shower heads. The 6 function luxury shower head from Aqua Elegante, the Wantba 6" high pressure rainfall massage, the Speakman S-2252 Anystream, and the Delta 75152 single function shower head.Speakman:Pros: Good pressure, solid construction. Decent coverageCons: It is heavy, so caution required when installing. The adjustable settings doesn't change the stream significantly and it is far pricier to comparable shower headsGet this if: you care about an all metal construction and want a high pressure shower and don't mind spending the money 3
