    Five StarsGreat stone5Great after day 1, wrong grit sizing?Day one and my chisel is getting a shine and removing deep scratches from when purchased. Not sure about grit though. This site says 600 grit, but if you go to smith's website, it says 1000-1200 grit. Another site lists arkansas stones as falling in the fine to very fine catergory of 1000+ grit. So it is more likely that the correct grit is 1000+ fyi.4Five Starsnice5Weak BaseThe stone is great, the only complaint i have is that the stone separated form the base the 1st day i received it. It seems that the glue was too weak. A rubber base on the bottom would have been nice to hold the base firmly. It slides everywhere too easily. If you are on a budget then this one will do, of not get another one. I'll be ok with this one but will not buy another one.3Great for big knives I'm impressed with the quality I can't fault it at all . Great for big knives 5nicethese are the best owned them for years nice razor sharp edges with this5Worth every dollar, easy to useJust got this at Big 5 where it was $21.99, and they refused to price match. Had an old junky stone full of gouges that wouldn't sharpen worth squat. Picked this up on my way to work, a layer of 3 in 1 oil and a half hour later, had a Kershaw sharp enough to shave with again. Been many months since it was this sharp. Very useful, really glad I got it, worth every dollar.4Great sharpenerIt's the best sharpener I've used but, I wasn't happy about the stand because it gets in the way of the blade. Also you have to wash the rock to clear the pours which got in the way of its purpose of bringing it and using it on the go.5Great finishing stone.Easier to use then their small stone. Love finishing my knives with this, or use it as a quick perk up on my edc knife if it s not cutting though stuff like... well if it was hot and I had some butter.5Seems like good quality but I am learning ask me again after some practiceI like that it was set in its own case which is adequate for my learning use and size works well5Good stone for the moneyThis stone is solid for the money. It's good for maintaining and sharpening blades that are still fairly sharp and just need to be touched up or refined. If your blade has gotten extremely dull or been damaged then be aware that this stone by itself won't help you as it is too fine. It'll take hours to even begin to see any sort of result. For the price it's a solid stone for a beginner though.Thing about this ad is that they say it's a 600 grit when it's really 1000.4
