Could only get the very tips to go into the sharpener. Probably works best on shears with long blades. 3Great Great so far. Works exactly as described. 5Keeps them sharp as long as blade is not damaged! If I only had one complaint, I wish it was a straight pull rather than a side pull. I find it hard to keep the tool aligned properly when pulling across the blade sideways. BUT, if you can and go slow... It keeps the blade nice and sharp.Keep in mind, if your blade is chipped or has a bend/bump in it, you may experience issues. 4Five Stars Does the job really well....... 5Easy to Use Easy to use tool that takes a little effort to sharpen dull edges, but it works and that is all I can ask for. 5Keeps my wife from complaining. A little awkward to use but I seem to get more adept each time I use it. It does sharpen the blades but don't expect an edge like your carving knife. It doesn't fit well between the blades of some smaller garden trimmers. 4
