Customer Reviews

Sharpens knives very well Well made. Sharpens knives very well. 5It takes a pragmatic approach to getting a good edge on a bladeSimple all in one tool that is well designed and affordable. It takes a pragmatic approach to getting a good edge on a blade. Three steps is generally good enough. I've been able to take pretty dull blades and bring them right back with this.No need to spend more.5Easy to useEasy to use. Bit bigger than most hand sharpeners. But nice when you have time to set it up and hone several knives. Easy to setup to if you just need to touch up a blade.5Smith Tri-hone knife sharpening system. This system works wonders. My knives have come back from the dead of dullness. In the past I have owned 2 different electric sharpeners which never worked well. This system takes a little more work and elbow grease, but the results are amazing. I am going to give this as a gift to my two sons.5Second purchase as product works well This is the second one I have ordered. The first worked well and lived a useful life. 5It works like a charm.Works fantastic for a stellar price. An object to keep for a lifetime. Sharpened all of the blades in the house. Still working on my technique which will improve after multiple sharpens. Took some dull house kitchen blades and made them almost razor sharp (Due to my inexperience)Would purchase again5Easy to useFirst diamond sharpener, So far, so good. I have used it on a couple of hunting knives and the blades have a nice edge. I am still using just a whetstone for my main carry knife, but if the others hold an edge well, might take this back country for the people who show up with a dull knife.4works greatIt simply works great. My girlfriend kept complaining about the kitchen knives being dull. I have a buddy that is an aspiring blacksmith, the took a class on professional blade sharpening. I asked his advice and he recommended this sharpener. Not expensive for what you get. I tossed the oil, just use water. Start with the course grit side, move to fine, then hone on the stone. Simple. Our knives stay sharp now.5Great! The multi surface makes this stone great. Easy to switch from one side to another during a session if needed.High quality surfaces with no noticable imperfections I can see or feel 5Best sharpener ever!I have never had such sharp knives! I have sharpened every knife in the house (I'm a Boy Scout Scoutmaster, I have a LOT of knives). Oddly enough the best feature is the little plastic angle guide. It makes sure you have the proper angle on the blade every time. I brought back blades that I thought were lost causes. I sharpened all my kitchen knives. I sharpened scissors. I even took it to Boy Scout camp and sharpened the knives the scouts had just bought in the trading post so they could carve wood better. It only takes about 10 swipes on each side of the blade per surface to get them razor sharp. Well worth the investment.5I hadn't had an Arkansas stone prior to this and honestly found I really like it especially for older carbon steelsBought these to replace a few stones lost in a stolen knife bag. I've sharpened quite a few things from kitchen knives to axe heads with these now and can honestly say I have no issues with the stones themselves. I hadn't had an Arkansas stone prior to this and honestly found I really like it especially for older carbon steels. My only complaint is that the Arkansas stone appears to be barely more than hotglued on to the base. mine popped off quite easily. That said, if you use your stones as intended and don't lug them around as much as I do (I'm pretty rough on stones I will admit), I doubt this will be an issue. Overall solid stones and my favorites for bringing horribly mistreated knives back from the dead.4Knife sharpenerThe sharpening plates are easy to use and do a good job sharpening various knives. The base could be a little heavier to be more stable. The little plastic angle guide is not that helpful. Overall, a good tool.4Awesome sharpener and doesn't break the bankThis thing works great I am finally able to get my buck pocket knife razor sharp cut the hair on your arm sharp. I don't use the provided angle guide deal I found it easier to just hold the knife at an angle that is comfortable to me. When I first got it I started with the coarse stone did 20 strokes each side of the blade then went to the medium stone and did 20 strokes each side and finally the Arkansas stone 20 times each side followed by 20 more strokes divided equally between sides one stroke one side then another the next it was pretty sharp at this point just starting to be able to shave hair. I now touch up my blade once a week on the Arkansas stone only doing the 20 strokes each side and then the 20 divided and after the last sharpening my knife was scary sharp shaved my arm clean with very little effort. I have figured out that using a good amount of pressure while running the blade across the stone does help just like the directions say to do and also don't forget to always use a lubricant I hear it helps keep the stones from getting plugged up with the metal filings.5
