Customer Reviews

DO NOT BUY A PEBBLE WITHOUT SKINOMI BOTTOM LINE : Skinomi good, Pebble bad.Shame on Pebble! Did they learn nothing from the iPhone-scratching fiasco? You simply DO NOT bring such an easy-to-scratch product to market. Had I known precisely how easy the face of the Pebble watch was to scratch, I probably would not have purchased it. Put it this way : I have watches with sapphire crystal faces I have scratched to hell and back.Following the recommendations found on the internet, I used Polywatch to remove the scratches, and followed it up immediately with Skinomi. The difference is like Superman on kryptonite and Superman with no kryptonite. I don't know that the mere application of Skinomi will make your Pebble bulletproof; then again, I don't have any information it won't.All I know is the Skinomi appears to make the face of the Pebble bulletproof, and that's what counts in my book. They are not kidding about the abuse the Skinomi will absorb. It's easy to apply if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you don't, not so much. I have already given the Skinomi a few decent shots and there is not a mark on it. I am pretty sure Skinomi could make some awesome TV commercials showing Wonder Woman's bracelets being protected by Skinomi.Yes, they are that good. 5Better than Expected I wanted some kind of screen protector for my pebble since the front was just plastic that could easily be scratched so I ordered this from skinomi having recognized their history making good quality screen protectors and skins/wraps for other devicesDue to the curve of the watch and the little arms that extended to hold the wrist strap, I was pretty doubtful that a screen protector would hold very well. I considered cutting off the parts of the protector that covered the arms that hold the strap since they didn't really need protection but my brother told me he used a hair dryer to help make those parts stick better.I used the hair dryer and the whole process took maybe 5 minutes but was easier than I thought it would be for a wet installation. The little bits that protect the arms went on well and I got rid of any air bubbles. The protector has been on my pebble for nearly 6 months now and none of it has peeled. I has actually protected my display more than a few times. It scraped a rough concrete wall but only left fairly minor blemishes on the guard.I think the price point is reasonable and considering this experience I'd gladly use skinomi again. It's an easy recommendation from me to anyone who is considering this type of screen guard for their device. 5BEST PRODUCT FOR YOUR PEBBLE I have a pebble watch and one thing, it get scratch real easy, I mean, REAL EASY. I have the basic model, because I am overseas and that all I need being in this conditions (Snow, dirt, sand storm, mud, hell fire, hahaha, you get it) and everything its well, but the watches scratch easily. Finally I found this product. One thing, when you first put it on, has more bubbles than an episode of Bob Sponge, I mean, horrible, but DO NOT WORRY, they will go away in one day. next day, you wont be available to see them, AT ALL...WITCH CRAFT!!! No, just great technology working. Also, the newest Skinomi has not only one, or two or three, BUT MANY!!! hahaha, (sound like an announcer) but seriously, the last version come with a bunch of the skins, which you will need, because every 2 to 3 month, it start to peal of on the corners and looks bad, but it wont come of all the way. If you are a freak neat such as myself, you would like to replace it, and now you can for the same price... 5I hated this from the moment I received it I hated this from the moment I received it. Seriously, I need to use some weird liquid on the protector? Plus a lot of little pamphlets are shoved in the box and it just seemed really tedious to install. So after making sure I had an hour to spend on getting this applied I looked up the videos online on how to install it. I used the "soapy" water spray on both my fingers and the back of the skin after carefully buffing my already scuffed pebble watch with the inclosed micro-fiber cloth. While applying the skin I found there is a very fine line between having too much water (slips all over the pebble watch) and too little water (sticks to the watch like duct tape) but after spending about 5 minutes lining it up and another 5 minutes of pushing out bubbles I look at the screen and lo and behold it looked... like crap. Seriously, it looked like Shrek sneezed all over it.So I left it alone, like the directions say, for a few hours while charging and checked it again and it looked a little bit better. After about two days with it on the skin looks just as clear as glass. I don't even notice it on there anymore and the scuff I had on it before is no longer visible. I have to say while I might have hated the product in the beginning, I love it now. If's been about 2 weeks and it's taken a number of hits like a champ as there are no noticeable blemishes on the display. So far so good.Update - 2/24/2015Dropping rating from 5 to 2. After two months of use the top and bottom left area are peeling up and now looks looks hideous. Attempted three times to submit to the warranty claim site with no response. I've attempted to reach out directly to customer service and am hoping for a better resolution using that method. Will update if I get any sort of comment from the company. 2Very pleased. I've not had good luck with screen protectors in the past (iPad, iPhone). Still, for the price, I figured I've give the TechSkin a shot. The product is a complete installation package, besides the screen protector, you get a cleaning/install solution, a cleaning cloth and a squeegee. After viewing the online video, I did the install in a few minutesAt first, I wasn't too happy. There appeared to be a couple of significant flaws visible. Also the small arms on the protector did not want to stay in place at first. Still, I waited 24 hours (as recommended by Skinomi) and after that time, the install was flawless. It's almost impossible to even tell that the protector is in place.Others have commented that the protector had a rough feel to it. I guess the product has been changed because my protector is very smooth.Well worth the money. An update (9/15/13). It finally happened, a couple of the protector 'arms' managed to come loose and my attempt to reinstall it was not successful. I simply contacted Skinomi and within days, a completely new kit/protector showed up in the mail. Great customer service. Now, if it was up to me, I'd offer a version of the protector without the little arms all together. It would likely last forever. Better yet, include both in the kit. Still, it is the best screen protector/kit I've ever come across. 5Great protector from a brand I trust for this kind of stuff TIP: The four corners can be tricky to make sure the protector os adhering correctly while it rests. I suggest wrapping a rubber band on either side of the watch while you let it rest. The rubber will make sure both top and bottom of the protector remain glued to the device right after installation. Pebble's curved corners help with this procedure and each band sits nicely, keeping pressure on both top and bottom corners of each side at the same time.I've had it for a little over a week and, so far, it's been great.I've bought other Skinomi protectors before for my phones and, by now, I already know how to apply them and I trust Skinomi. I've had no problems applying it and it looks to be holding pretty good, despite the 4 small corners (I was afraid they would come out easily, but it hasn't been the case so far).VERY, VERY IMPORTANT: DO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!! If they say to clean your table, DO IT. If they say to spray the solution on your fingers, DO IT (it won't dissolve your fingers in any way). If they say to apply the solution on the screen of the device and the protector, DO IT (don't spare it, as you can add water and have a bit more when it's over). If they tell you to turn off the device, DO IT! If they say to leave the device resting for some hours, DO IT!This shouldn't be treated as a cheap, quick thing. Take your time, be patient and careful, do it at night and leave it resting while you sleep (you can turn it on for alarm clock, but don't touch it and don't wear it until you wake up!)Following ALL the instructions CAREFULLY will give you great results. My kit was complete, with the full spray and the cloth, The spray can be used on other brands to make things easier to position the protector.I'll update this review if I experience something in the future. So far, so great! 5Bent and doesn't stay Down - not worth price the first problem was the screen protector I received was bent. The little tab on the end was bent up while still in the package. I tried to bent it back, no avail. My guess is it has been bent since it was made and put in the manufacturers box. Next the instructions tell you to wait around 8 hours before you can power in your device. Really?!?! Maybe they should come up with a quicker process. Also there are instructions inside and a paper inside that tells you to go to their website to see instructions for your specific product. I was thinking these would be instructions on how to apply it to my specific device.... Nope! They are just the same instructions that came with the protector.I tried to apply the protector with the Amal edge tabs on (even though mine was bent). They don't line up. Barely hanging off the edge on one side or the other. And I couldn't get the bent tab to lay down. Ended up having to cut them off. After cutting them off I did get it applied. But I am 2 hours later and the protector still just slides around. It doesn't stick to my device AT ALL. I honestly afraid that it will not stick and come 8 HOURS(ridiculous in this digital age with constant use of devices) it is just going to fall off.I will not be purchasing any other Skinomi products. I am very disappointed with my purchase. Save your money, buy elsewhere. 1You will need your hair dryer! If you have a Pebble: this is a must have. Your watch will get banged around and the face will scratch, so spend the extra few bucks! The company is outstanding... the warranty is real. They honor your purchase and will send you countless new ones IF you follow the directions! This screen protector is tricky. It is small. And it has small ends. Look at the picture of the item and see what I mean. That said... you are going to need patience to put this on. And the ability to read and follow directions.Once it is on, you'll be happy with it. There are no bubbles at all! You'll get more than one try if you mess up... the film is very easy to re-do if something went off. That said... it will be really obvious if you don't follow the directions. You will be putting up a 1 star review and the company will contact YOU (that's how well they honor the warranty)Turn the watch off and plan on keeping it off for several hours while your screen protector is drying and setting up tight. The directions should be followed exactly so read them through once before starting. Set up everything, get a hair dryer plugged in, open all packaging.make sure the little sprayer works right.Wash your hands well. Dry them Clean the Pebble as directed. No dust, no oil. Don't touch anything. Don't eat a sandwich while you are doing this.Try to barely touch the inside of the film during the process.Note that when you spray the film, you are spraying a light coating... like one squirt. Mist it in evenly. At most, you need just two squirts. Make sure you get the small ends.Take it slow, line up the middle without pressing down and then line up the ends. The ends need to be well adhered, so I suggest definitely using the hair dryer as indicated. The directions say to keep the watch off for a few hours. I did. I have a perfectly adhered, no bubble, protected Pebble watch head.Good luck! 5Totally Fine, May need to reapply a few times to remove all bubbles This is not a run of the mill screen protector, applying it can be frustrating and requires patience to deal with the air bubbles or getting the corners to stay down during the application and curing process. It is good to see this material becoming more common, I originally bought the exact same stuff from a different company for my Kindle 2 a few years ago. You get a high quality and slightly rubbery piece of polyurethane, it is a little sticky on one side and you use an included spray bottle filled with a very mild detergent to make adhering it to your gadget a little easier. The only problem with this stuff is that it needs to cure for a few days before you can be sure of the final results, it can be maddening to get this stuff to set correctly without air bubbles or new ones forming a few hours after you applied it. I had a little trouble keeping the corners to stay down, more spray and reapplying with some light pressure on the problem areas solved the problem. Three small air bubbles formed overnight as the spray liquid evaporated from under the screen protector, so I'm probably going to gently peel it off and try reapplying again. However once you get it set you can be sure that it will not come off, unless you pick at it or something. My previous experience with this product on my Kindle 2 left me with an unprecedented inability to scratch, scuff or even damage the screen protector. I've had this stuff on my Kindle 2 for 5 years and I haven't seen any change in the material color or had it come off yet. There were a few air bubbles that I decided to leave because they didn't obstruct the screen, my OCD had me trying to pop them with a needle a few months later and I discovered that I couldn't actually drive the needle through the material. I recently replaced the screen on my Kindle 2 and I'll write back about what it is like to remove 5 year old screen protector and see if it can be reapplied. As a closing note, the self healing thing nearly-almost total crap and is bad marketing. I know an expert in the plastics industry who explained it to me like this: when subjected to small hairline scratches the polyurethane WILL slowly creep and even out the gap, however it will have trouble filling in anything larger than that. The product WILL NOT "heal like skin" as I have heard said before about similar and different screen protectors; it doesn't regenerate or grow back but it is incredibly durable and a tiny bit fluid to ease scratches away.5 Stars - Excellent stuff! I'll remove a few stars if I ever have to deal with customer service and they also give me a hard time, but until then I'm standing by my rating. 5Time consuming Not the worst quality, by far, but the installation is unnecessarily complicated and time consuming.I wish it had been more clearly advertised that this type of skin ONLY looks decent if you install it using water and letting it dry for 4-5 hours.I used the water, and it was fine, but it also works if you just stick it on. I was able to get the entire screen without any blemishes whatsoever, and the edges around the screen just have some slight squiggles (see photo..coming soon) but no big bubbles, works fine for me because it's just a watch, but definitely won't buy this again until it is IMPERATIVE that it be crystal clear and I am willing to wait for it to dry. 2
