The detents are many and of sufficient strength to hold up during high wind events.The detent locks are positive and offers secure, positive positioning, but are easy to change if required.The thick flat surface mounting plate is also well designed for easy use and installation. A good, reliable product overall.5Nice unit actually like it better than metal it replaced.Replaced a metal one that I broke when I left the antenna up backing the boat into the garage. Bought this plastic one primarily because of the price difference but very pleased with the quality, fit and function.4
