    Not as heavy duty as I would like...Don't get me wrong, its cheap and does what it should BUT... I have only had it for a short time now and through normal use it has stretched out... I had to order another one for my smaller pieces because I could not get thinner rings in. 3slipperyDecent ring clamp but you really have to jam the wedge in to get it to hold your object securely. The wedge slips around a lot, and the finish just seems very slippery to me. It s usable but not wonderful. 3Great Handy Value!I just tried this out the other day and it is really handy to have for the detailing of rings and such. It came in a good size package that fit perfectly, the quality of the wood is good. The only reason this did not get 5 stars was the leather tips on the end had already begun showing damage after using it 3 times. I suspect this is something that would happen long term but I did not expect this to begin happening so soon, although I still recommend buying. I m using it to protect my fingers as I smooth the edges of the small recycled materials I use in my craft projects with a dremel or belt sander. In the future I ll be using it to polish jewelry and I m sure it will work great for that too 5And the cardboard looks like it was cut out by a kindergartenerThis is extremely low quality. It has cardboard inserts instead of leather to protect the ring shaft. And the cardboard looks like it was cut out by a kindergartener. The top isn't sanded. Just cut and left rough. It has a decal, a thumbs up. on the side, as if that will make the really low quality all right. If you enjoy working with decent tools, this is not the tool for you. 1More then just a clamp.I just received this today and am already in love with it. I have been using a coiling gizmo and holding the wire is hard on my old arthritic fingers. I just used this with the coiler and a 26 gauge wire. It held the wire nicely while letting it slide as the wire coiled on my tool. Normally when you reach a certain point the wire has to be cut, but with this clamp I was able to allow it to continue to hold the wire while I continued to wind the wire to the end of the crank rod.Then as usual the coil being so long is hard to remove from the rod, but I held the wired and rod at the being of the rod and used this clamp to slide the wire off. Excellent, coil removed easily, no marring on the wire and no bending of the wire trying to remove it from the rod.From time to time when winding wire on the coiling tool I drop my hold on the wire. This causes the winding rod to uncoil a few times. That requires fixing and if you are counting that makes you loose your count. I dropped my hold on this clamp and the winding rod did not move. The clamp held the whole thing preventing an unwinding problem. Love that.So thanks. This is already a favorite tool even just having it a few hours. 5Nicer than expected for the moneyvery pleased with the quality and size--nice than the beat up ones that my school has for use during class time. I wanted my own so I could continue to work on my casting pieces outside of class, and this will just do the trick. Arrived super quickly and cheaper than offered at my local jewelry supply place (which is always closed anyway!) Well done! Worth every penny. 5I love itThis thing is awesome.
