Exceed my expectations for a budget buy as a replacement passenger headset.My flying has been solo for many years, so when preparing to take along a passenger, I found that both pair of active noise reducing passenger headsets had problems. Did a quick search and found this one, so I gave it a try given the high ratings. That was a win, as they have exceed my expectations for a budget buy as a replacement passenger headset. Took it for a test flight as my headset, and sound levels were very+ acceptable, and fit was very comfortable (and I have a large head with few caps providing an acceptable fit). Not clear why some referred to it as a head vice! Perhaps that comes with a long XC. The mic mitt/muff was effective, and the included bag is a plus.Would definitely buy another pair.4... my first PPL flight and they seemed to worked good. I do not have another aviation headset to ...Took these on my first PPL flight and they seemed to worked good. I do not have another aviation headset to compare to but for the price compared to others these worked good. Will probably buy two more after I get my license for the rest of my family and then buy some better ones for me.Update. So far so good. I have about 18 hours of training on these. Still would buy another pair and looking to get the junior size for my kids when they start flying with me. I will probably get a better name brand and give this pair to my wife.4Works great but...The sound quality and controls are pretty good but dang they are uncomfortable to wear for more than 10 minutes. They squeeze your head so tight that your ears and cheek bones begin to get sore pretty quick. My nephew couldn't handle it and took them off after 10 minutes. I tired bending the headband open a little more to loosen them up a bit after trying them out for a day. Haven't used them again since so not sure if that helped. They certainly felt better during the brief test fit after bending them open some. Will see...4Works good for an excellent priceFirst let me start by saying that this is not a set of David Clark's or Bose. If that's what you're looking for then don't buy these. I purchased this headset purely for the price point. All in all they do a decent job at both being a good headset and providing good sound isolation. They are not noise canceling, but have good quality sound foam in them. I intend to use these for a short time until I can justify the cost of a better set and they are more than up for that4Great Headset for Low CostThis is a great low cost headset. Identical to the ASA set but these have an additional 1/8" input for external devices. First night, I used a ball to stretch them a bit and I snagged a set of the cloth earpiece covers which make them more comfy. Audio is clear on both ends. I recommend these to anyone looking for a cost effective headset for pilot or passenger.5Great headset - very clearI'm a student pilot and had been using my friend's $350 David Clark headset to start out. I decided to get my own and bought this headset. These are actually way better than the DC I was using. Much more clear and very comfortable. My radio work actually improved significantly with this headset because it made it much easier to understand what the other folks were saying.I haven't used the aux input feature, but am looking forward to trying it out when I'm in the back seat sometime.5I figured if my wife didn't like the set they could be relegated to the backseat ...Bought two of these for our Mooney. I use it for my passengers, but yesterday i went up and flew to KPWA From KGOK and talking to okc approach and wpa ATC was difficult to hear. I was having a hard time understanding the numbers. But then again i am used to my zulu PFX , so for $100 these are a good buy , to use for passengers or as back ups, but i really would not recommend them for pilots flying into bravo charlie or delta airspace where you need to hear everything that approach departure or tower has to say3Phenomenal!I can't believe how absolutely amazing this headset is! And for the price! It's a total steal. People have complained about strong clamping pressure, but I haven't experienced this. I have probably 25 hours with it now. My head isn't very wide, so I don't know if that makes a difference. The sound quality is amazing. I can hear my instructor clearly, ATC as well. My mic is Crystal clear (although this depends on the plane, as I've flown 4 separate planes, all Piper archers, and some have better mic quality than others). My ear is cuffed very nicely. I can hear the engine enough to make out the RPMs and listen for abnormalities but not even to drown out comms or force me to turn volume up high. What an amazing headset!! If anything, it's even worth buying just to try before you go spend $350+ on the big named brands.5Price is right, but they didn't work.We ordered two of these as loaner headsets for the flight school. After a few flights one had stopped working completely and the other was causing so much static on the intercom that it was unusable. We have tried them in multiple airplanes with multiple pilots and had the same result. I don't know if we got a bad batch or what, but there is definitely something not right with these headsets.1
