Customer Reviews

ok2 bad discs normal 2x burn time on my dvr, maybe different on PC.Bought some maxell for less they seem to be faster. 3Loyal fan of this -RW DVDThis is my second purchase of this item. I use them for my DVR. I leave them out stacked on top of each other collecting dust at times, and with a quick dusting they are ready to go again. If this is a few dollars than a 2 or 4x speed RW, I would spend the extra $$$ for these anytime. 5These disc are the only DVD-RW that I could find ...These disc are the only DVD-RW that I could find and they work correctly in my Toshiba DVD recorder. Out of 400 discs I have only had one that was defective. DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD+R disc don't permit all recording modes as the DVD-RW does. 5Most drives I've used don't like theseI've tried these Ritek 6x DVD-RW's in Optiarc, Sony, LiteOn, LG, and Pioneer DVD and Blu-Ray burners. Only 2 LiteOns I've tried these discs in were able to correctly write to them.Writes would either fail to complete or if they completed, the resulting discs were unreadable. Inserting the written discs into a drive would cause the drive's activity light to constantly blink until they were ejected again. Meaning, the drives were trying to read the contents on the discs and constantly failing to.Ritek 6x DVD-RW's are an odd beast. Most Ritek DVD products are of decent quality. Their 8x DVD+RW writes fine in all drives I've tested them on except for an LG Blu-Ray. Office Depot 4x DVD-RW were outsourced to Ritek and they've always written fine, even in Panasonic DVD recorders that support DVD-RW. Sony outsources their DVD-R to Ritek and they were of decent quality. Memorex uses Ritek for their BD-RE and everything I've tried except a LiteOn likes them fine. So, I don't know what's up with Ritek's 6x DVD-RW.I say, if you've got a LiteOn DVD burner, you probably won't have a problem with these media. Other drives, use at your own risk. 2Not a household name, but should be!I've tried blank DVD's from just about every well known brand out there. I had settled on Verbatim because they have worked out the best overall for me, but when you come right down to it they're not THAT much better than much less expensive Memorex discs, at least in +rw and -rw formats. Though, Verbatim has a lower defect ratio (unusable at all). The Ritek dvd-rw discs, as well as their +rw discs, are the best I've ever used from any brand at any price. Not only do they have an excellent 1st burn quality in both sound and picture, but I haven't experienced a single defective disc yet (over 50 discs and counting). The quality on 2nd and 3rd burns of the same disc is consistent, even on discs that were heavily edited the first time. I have very good equipment, and that helps a lot, but these discs are capable of near blu-ray quality -- on good equipment. I'd like to find out if they make dual layer discs, as I have had inconsistent quality issues with all brands, even Verbatim, which you wouldn't expect. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience or info on dual layer discs from Ritek.-DJ 5Just what the drive was asking for....Worked as I needed...as it is a disk specified to work with the DVD drive I use. 5Good disks for the priceI have a Panasonic DMR-EH50 and a Panasonic DMR-EH55 DVD recorder and this works fine in both machines. I have had no problems with these disks and will reorder them again as needed. If your DVD recorder is similiar to either of my Panasonic machines, then I think you will have no problems with these disks, but I cannot vouch for them if they are used in other machines since my experience is limited to my machines. Still, for the price, they are a good deal. 5Three StarsDidn't hold up as well as I would have liked when rerecording. 3
