    Works perfectly This was a great purchase for me. Sometime back, I had an electrician run a CAT 5 cable from one room of our house to another, and I terminated each end with RJ-45 connectors. So the cable extended from the wall in each room through a beige wall plate with a small hole in it. I lived with that for a few years, because it was good enough. Recently, we repainted one of the rooms and had to remove all of the switch and outlet covers while at the same time replacing the beige switches, outlets, and covers with white ones. It had occurred to me to buy a jack panel where I could cut off the RJ-45 connector and re-terminate the cable onto it so I would have a nice jack on the wall instead of the cable coming out of it. As I was looking for that, I found this. Not that re-terminating a cable is difficult, but this wall plate was a perfect solution and required no wiring work at all. I just plugged the existing RJ-45 connector into the back and mounted the wall plate in place of the old one. No muss, no fuss; done. Also, if you are wondering if this CAT 6 wall plate works with CAT 5 cable, the answer is "Yes." 5Simple and convenient Simple and convenient. Doesnt get any simpler as far as running internet cable and port to another location goes. But I feel at $12 its a little pricey for what it is. Comparables can be found at HD for $7, but you'd have to wire them. HD also had a female to female port for $8 listed on its site, but none in store..Indeed, their "sales person" had no clue what I was talking about. This is why Amazon and Prime will eventually kill them on anything that isnt needed immediately. 5Definitely the way to go for simplicity This is so awesome. I used to have to "punch down" CAT5 network cable by individually hooking up each of the 8 wires in the cable... this wall plate is brilliant, you just plug a standard RJ45 network cable into both ends, no complicated wiring necessary. 5Simple product that works wonderfully I bought a few of these and some long Ethernet cables to have wired connections all around my house. After determining the placements and feeding the cables in the attic, installation was as simple as attaching the male end of the Ethernet cord to the female port on the plate and screwing into the wall. I bought the one port versions because I already had some switches. 5Fits standard 1 gang box and gives 6 network connections Works great. Allows cables with male connectors to connect to wall and continue out on a second male connector network cable in the wall. Great for security systems using PoE technology. 5Makes for easy, sure Ethernet connections. Very easy to install, and you don't have to crimp a cable connector and risk losing bandwidth. Just plug your cable with connectors already on the cable to the back of the face place and you are all set. I measured 980 Mbits/sec when connected to the outlete. 5Works great Really nice product. So glad I found this. I had to run a Cat5e cable through my attic and down a wall and connect to a router. This gives a very clean look for this. I just snapped in to the back of this wall plate the end of the cable I had run though the wall. Then I run a short Cat5e cable from the front of this wall plate to the router. Love it. Highly recommended. 5It works like it should I bought two of these to patch Cat6 from one room to another. I don't think there is much that I can say about such a simple device except that it does exactly what I wanted to do. And I do especially recommend this style of connector because you do not need to screw down any wires inside the wall to the back side. I've purchased AmazonBasics cat6 1-foot long cables and just connected them inside the wall. 5Works great.... but no wall mount. Did what I needed and works perfectly.Only thing is this one does not come with the wall mount.I bought this from someone else and it came with a wall mount.Would have bought more but they were out.So if you get this you will need to buy the wall mount seperately.But works great!Connected a modem from one side of the wall to a router on the opposite side.Good idea if you dont want cords running through your door ways. 5Easy to use I couldn't believe how difficult it was to find a part like this in my local stores. Nobody had one. This product is great for running CAT5e/6 cable to rooms using inexpensive lengths of cable from the store. I installed it in minutes and it works great. 5
