I attempted to "Register" the product on-line and complied in detail to everything RIDGID requested such as Original Receipt, Customer ID number they assigned to me, etc. This process involved not only on-line communication, but also USPS mailings. I provided everything they asked for.Ultimately, I received a reply from RIDGID's Service Department in Anderson, SC stating exactly this:"Product was purchased from an unauthorized retailer or is secondhand and carries no warranty coverage."I am confident the tool was new, and not secondhand, but why would RIDGID allow Amazon to sell the tool if they are UNAUTHORIZED to do so?In any event, the tool is working just as I expected it to. Lets hope it never breaks, because apparently I have no warranty coverage because I purchased it through Amazon... an "unauthorized retailer". 3
