Works great, easy to installWe installed new LED lights into our existing canisters, but didnt have the clips to hold the torsion springs. Will recommend to friends!5Custom application of recessed light clipsI am very grateful that these are available. I needed the clips for a special project of using canned lights outside of a recessed can (down light). With L brackets and plastic support I was able to utilize the light clips to hold on a recessed can light to a custom light board made of MDF for a light box in a bathroom vanity. The clips are somewhat under designed. The springs from the lights causes a lot of stress on the clip. Adding plastic support helped. The clips are thin and need to be a few mils thicker in order to sustain the clip shape without distortion or possible slippage off the clip of the light springs. This would be true even inside the can. I checked my existing cans with the clips included and they are thicker than these clips.4Worked Great on Progress Lighting FixturesThese came in very handy for Progress Lighting Fixtures, which do not have Springs mounts included. Earlier I only had option to install Progress Lighting Push-and-Twist Recessed lights, however after installing these clips, I was able to install the spring mounted LED lights easily.5Clips No One KnewNobody, and I mean nobody, in the business knew where to get these clips, or if they even existed ! Just by chance I searched on Amazon and found them. I bought Costco LED can lights and installed them in the spot light cans in my kitchen. I found out fast that the cans did not have these clips in them. (Most, if not all the cans sold now have them.) I was going to rig up some paperclips, but soon found out that was a desperate solution. These clips fit and worked perfectly. I installed four sets and got the LED change-outs in all for under $50. An electrician would've charged me 5x as much. I am very happy.5Well designed to -grab- your bezel retention springs, but make sure these are right for your fixture and you use the proper toolThis is an unsolicited review of the Recessed light clips for Downlights. I purchased five (5) pairs for a three-light project in order to have some spares if they were needed. I was not compensated for this, or any other, reviews.These are decent quality, with a ridge across the horizontal axis to prevent bending where it matters most - between the c-clips themselves. But there are a couple of caveats about using these in practice.Caveat #1 - Your fixture should be very close in diameter to the relamping bezel you are trying to install. You really do want to have near-vertical alignment of the retention springs that lock into these clips; otherwise, you will end up with a poor fit and probably clip damage (see photo). I had a box-shared recessed unit, rather than the round unit depicted in the seller's images, and there was still a 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch gap between where the clip should be and where it was mounted, so the clips could not survive the attempt.Caveat #2 - As another reviewer mentioned, getting a spot to place the screw can be a challenge. Using a right-angle drill attachment is smart, but I imagine a lot of people try to use the wrong tool for that and spend more time and energy than necessary. I was able to use an awl and standard drill, but I was not pleased with the overall accuracy of where the clips ended up being attached. Get the correct parts for the job and the proper tools for the job and it's probably a quick weekend project.In the end, I did not use any of these clips, as my helper lost a clip and a screw and we damaged two making the unwise attempt to bridge the gap to the large recessed box.
