    It sucks, but in a good wayI've used to suction cup for a number of things now, it works really well. 5 mounted a GPS, my phone, and some other equipment without any problems. I'm a big fan of the RAM-Mount products.5Not good for warm weather useI cleaned my windshield thoroughly before using this mount, I even cleaned the glass and the suction cup with alcohol before applying.In warm/hot weather, just the weight of the mount caused the unit to slide down the windshield. RAM needs to redesign this unit so the cup travel is further back, so that the vacuum is strong enough to support the mount, short arm, and phone holder.I have been using RAM products for many years, and have them in all of my personal vehicles, as well as spec-ing them for all of the squad cars at the police dept I retired from. I have NEVER been disappointed with any RAM product until this one. It's been over thirty days, so I cannot return it. Now that the weather is cooling off, maybe it will work through the fall and winter. One can only hope.2Another quality product from Ram MountActually this is my 1st suction cup mount. I don't have a lot to compare to but this little cup looks pretty awesome I have used it in the same car for over 3 days at a time no problems in the cold and the heat. I have used many ram mount products this so far is my favorite. I really enjoy the quality and grear ideas they have. Both for motorcycle and car.5Great SuctionAs with most RAM products this one is great also! The suction power this mount has is greater than any I have seen before. I can suction it to the outside of my car and shake the entire car with it. When it is suctioned to the window it does not fall off in temperature changes like most other mounts do. The mount is very versatile and can be used with all kinds of other accessories such as phone holders, GPS, Go-Pro. It has never let go. I've converted all of my GoPro and Tactacam mounts to Ram mounts and really appreciate the ease of use for just the right mounting angle. I loved the suction cup mount so much, I bought another one for my 2nd GoPro last week and put it to use on the boat for a second angle.Midday while fishing we heard something hit the gunnel of the boat and a splash. The mount had let go and sent my GoPro Hero 4 silver, Sennheiser mic, large dog bone GoPro connector and suction cup mount to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean! It was mounted about 1.5' from the gunnel but pitching seas must have been just right when it let go to not fall into the boat. (There may even be video of it on my second cam!)I've never had a failure with the first one, and didn't expect this one, plus being what I thought was far enough from the gunnel in case something happened. Needless to say I am very disappointed, and out close to $500 for what I paid for everything. They generally seem to work great but DO NOT fully trust it! If you use this anywhere where there is any chance that a failure could cost you your gear, make a lanyard and tie it off!4Not holding powerIt really doesn t hold well at all and I m using it as a secondary support with no weight !!!!!!!2It really sticks but is easy to removeI use this Ram Mount to mount my iPhone in my Subaru Outback. I had tried flimsier attachments and the phone always went flying. This is a very secure mounting system and I really like the RAM Mount products for my Harley also. RAM makes very versatile products.5Lifetime warrantyI ve heard for years how awesome RAM was and finally save my pennies to buy a $50+ Mount for my car. And just after a month of use it breaks. Honestly it was probably the worst mount that I ve had it shook violently more than any cheap-o mount I ve owned I can t tell you how disappointed and frustrated I am.Update:I contacted RAM and they have a lifetime warranty on their products. They sent me a new one free of charge.5Another great RAM Mount productI've always liked RAM Mount products. The quality matches the rest of the items I own. The twist lock really secures the base like none other. It was just what I needed.5
