Works well for one rain storm. I always have a pack of these around for use when it rains long and hard and penetrates my garage door. It works well for one time. However , when I ordered the "quick dam" two years ago, it dried out and returned to almost original size. Now they remain sodden and have to be tossed after one use. 3Works great--stopped water from entering my garage doors when we ... Works great--stopped water from entering my garage doors when we had significant rainfall from a Hurricane/tropical storm in our area. 5but for being in constant use I think that s great for the price Works as described. Has held up for almost a year and has been outside in and out of rainstorms for 10 months. It s now lost some of its absorbency, but for being in constant use I think that s great for the price. I m ordering another one. 5The dams need to positioned to direct runoff. My back yard collects the rains as well as runoff from 2 neighbors! I put the dams just inside of my fence and they direct the flow down to my drainage system! 4Does exactly what we wanted it to do We've started getting an extreme amount of water runoff when neighbors put in a new sprinkler system. In one section the water runs in a creek-like fashion down to another neighbors yard as well. It's killing our grass and create a mini pond and creek in our yard. We laid these barriers along the fence. They're unobtrusive along the fence line and have helped the problem considerably just as advertised 5Barriers Do Not Immediately Deflate After Storm Has Ended. Remain inflated and quite heavy. * The description of the item did not indicate that it takes 3 months for the barriers to deflate after use, nor to keep the barriers out of the sun or risk damage. I assumed the barrier would deflate immediately to the original size/shape as when it was first received (which was very light) after the rain subsided. The barriers remained inflated and quite heavy after the rain ended, making them difficult to move. Other than that, they serve the purpose in re-directing rain waters once in place and inflated during a rain storm. 3A very good product / works well and now the price has dropped in past 3 days since I ordered / Works very good / Filled up and awaiting more rains here in SW Va/ going to order more right now. Have a 10x6 COVERED kennel we refer to as Baby Girl's HUT Putting along the OUTSIDE where I have roofing shingles folded / and can put inside also / as this done last night by the door 5but unfortunately this was just a waste of money for us for this purpose I bought this barrier to put in a regular doorway to help prevent water from our cellar-way from getting into our basement. This didn't work because the barrier is 5' long and the width of a doorway is around 3' long. I looked for a smaller barrier and couldn't find one. I thought I could bend this barrier up while it wasn't wet and then when it became saturated and swelled it would conform to the doorway's shape. Wishful thinking! This 5' bag couldn't dam up the corners of the doorway where the water was entering so this didn't serve our purpose at all. I think if you have a slider door or an opening that's straight and long then this would work, but unfortunately this was just a waste of money for us for this purpose. 3Everyone should invest in these Our house is near the end of a hill and usually gets flooded. We burned out two pumps and had to be on watch of the side yard flooding into the basement. Since employing the damns we haven't had a problem or worry. They block and direct it away from the house. With all the rainfall and storms everyone should invest in these. 5Great for preventing water from entering screen porch So far the Quick Dam has been very effective in keeping water from entering our screen room. The screen room sets directly on our patio and with heavy rain - the water comes in. There is a tile floor laid over the patio concrete. The dams are light until they soak up water. They are not very flexible as far as bending around corners. 4
