    NOT true 4 gauge wire! This is NOT 4 AWG! The outside diameter including the insulation is, but the wire is not! This could lead to a dangerous situation. I have returned the roll of wire and went locally and bought some true 4 gauge wire. Please heed this and other reviews of this and avoid this wire if you need 4 gauge wire. 1NOT 4 gage wire What a drag. I didn't brother reading the reviews for this product, if I had I wouldn't have purchased it. Wrongful advertisement as far as I'm concerning. I searched for 4 gage primary wire and this came up to the top but as many others have testified this is NOT 4 gage wire. May not mater for speakers but when you have plans of crimping 4 gage terminals on to the ends of the wire it will not work because there's not enough wire there to make it work. What a bite. They should not be able to sell this using 4 gage anywhere in the description. Would NOT recommend this wire period. 1This is decent solid copper that is dangerously mislabeled as ... This is decent solid copper that is dangerously mislabeled as 4 AWG. It is actually 8 AWG wire with thick insulation.I wonder when someone will die because of a car fire caused by wire that couldn't handle the load distributor advertised.It's decent 8 AWG wire though. 34 AWG? I purchased this wiring in red and black to install a custom stereo system in my truck. Upon receipt, the wire is on a spool and covered with plastic. Once I reached the point if mocking up my amp mounts and wiring, I peeled off a the plastic on one spool to insert the wiring into a ferrule and into my amp. The 4 gauge ferrule is too big for this wire. It appears to be 6 gauge, though advertised as 4. Not sure what the issue is. I have placed the wire beside some 4 gauge and 6 gauge wires I had for atv winches and it is definitely not 4 gauge wire. As I only need about 6-12" of wire to connect from my distribution blocks, it will work, as I will not run my amps at high power. I would not buy it again though. It is definitely OFC and not CCA wire, so that was a relief. 3dont buy not 4 ga what a ripoff thick insulation and no wire , stripped and looked thin so i went to put a lug on it and fully crimped it wouldnt even stay on. dont buy just as stated in other reviews which i should have read 1Good Price for 6 Gauge Wire As others have stated over & over, this is not 4 gauge by the wire beneath the insulation. I have an old roll of 4 gauge, but needed some additional wire for add-on not necessarily needing 4gauge wire. This wire was just the right size for what I needed but not 4 gauge wire. Why did I buy it, if it has been clearly described as not being 4 gauge? Well, 25ft of 6 gauge still costs more than this product at the brick & mortar. I gave it 3 stars for the price; I took away 2 b/c it's not 4 gauge as described. It is thicker than 8gauge, though an 8gauge crimp fitting will work. The actual product consists of multi-stranded fine copper wire around 4-4.5mm in diameter; w/ insulation diameter is about 8-8.5mm. These measurements come out to 6gauge roundabout. Since it's smaller than 4.5mm it's not quite 5gauge, and being larger than 4mm makes it larger than 7gauge. While the insulator is suitably thick for commonsense applications it isn't part of wire measurement as I'm sure the people at Pyramid Power know. Please take into consideration your application and understand the differences/limitations of 6gauge vs. 4gauge. 3Bad Quality If this is 4 gauge, then I'm 400 years old. Congratulations to whoever is selling this. I'm sure you are making a lot of money with a fraudulent product. NOT 4 gauge. I might use it for a laundry line. It is so cheaply made and so light in weight, that I thought I was buying a box of kleenex when I picked up the box. I hope the Chinese don't really think this is legit 4 gauge, otherwise we may see many fires over there. This cable is advertised as a 4 gauge (4AWG) spool of cable. length was correct but the actual size of the cable would equate to a 6 or 7 gauge cable, not 4 gauge. it seems that pyramid thinks that the outside diameter of the cable is how you measure as the outside (including insulation) is roughly 4 AWG in size. i measured this with a Starret vernier caliper and did the conversion to mm square to find the actual cross section and then compared that to the standard as listed by UL and several other websites. the cabes is actually 6.5 AWG not 4.If you are looking for an actual 4AWG as I was do nt buy this as it is not 4AWG. 1
