    Dont waste your moneyI bought this and the pryme blu bluetooth RSM to use on my radio at work and it was full of problems. First of all when this dongle is connected it reroutes audio away from the main speaker. Thats not the problem the issue is if your bluetooth device becomes disconnected you never know it and audio does not revert back to the main speaker. Build quality felt really flimzy and cheap. Used for 1 day before it was shipped back to the seller1Per manufacturer, NOT For First Responders/Mission Critical UseI learned when the ear portion loses power, the adapter doesn t have the ability to tell the radio to default to the radios on board factory speaker and mic.This is a big deal. If you lose your connection (which is not secure), the adapter malfunctions, or the earpiece portion goes dead, you won t know and you won t hear any transmissions (or be able to transmit for that matter). Read the back page of the manual. Very small type. Not intended for first responders. Which is scary considering these are advertised towards law enforcement in their ads and pictures.The Motorola mission critical wireless earpiece w/ ptt pod for equipped APX radios is the ONLY product on the market that is made for mission critical/first responder use. The radio ust be equipped with the speaker that has the copper Bluetooth antenna in the assembly and the Bluetooth function must be enabled. Any Motorola dealer can do this (at a cost). You know you have the Bluetooth function if you have a small blue dot on the front of the speaker.It s a secure off-Bluetooth band connection for zero loss of any transmissions. And, most importantly as far as officer safety, if there is a connection issue, or if the battery on the wireless ptt pod goes dead, or any fault is sensed, the radio will instantly default to its on board factory speaker and mic automatically, so you have immediate acccess to radio traffic without having to do a thing.When this dongle is attached to the side of the radio, it s telling the radio to turn the radios speaker and mic off because a headset is being used. In other words, the pins are completing a ground connection on the side of the radio that turns them off. The adapter doesn t have the ability to release the connection electronically.Summed up, this is in no way intended for first responder use. Use the Motorola mission critical (not operations critical, which looks similar but is not a secure connection.Not worth taking the chance. I learned this by trial and error. I m sure it works fine for non emergency responder use.1Effevtive but annoying, constant staticConstant static. I contacted the manufacture and learned that this can't be avoided as the bluetooth adapter has to maintain an open signal to prevent loss of the initial 1-2 seconds of a transmission. With a phone this isn't an issue due to the ringtone using that 1-2 seconds, or more.The static is very annoying and the volume doesn't adjust hoe loude the static is.Went back to using a wired system.3
