Customer Reviews

Great ProductThis is a great product. Comfy and easy to use however I find that it does loosen up once in a while so I just keep an eye on it. Holding the camera is the only option for me as I do not like the pressure of a neck strap. Again, comfy and convenient! I would recommend this product. Prefer this style to a strap. 5How can they sell things so useful so cheap? This is really a bargain and comes ready to use for less than $20.With a strap like this, you can carry your camera on your wrist, by your side, where it won't draw much attention, even with a long telephoto--if you are right handed. But you can't shake hands with people. It switches easily to digital size and film size cameras. When you want to take a picture, clench your hand, bring it to your eye, turn it on and shoot. Voila, welcome to street photography. 5Advise use without camera neck strap-15% Restocking PenaltyHo! Ho! 'tis Christmas morning and I decided to write a review on this frustrating product. It is now 3 hrs. since I opened it. First the cons on this camera grip. The instructions are nothing more than 4 postage stamp size illustrations on how to thread the straps, on the back of the packaging. And if you are older and a senior citizen as I am with aid of a magnifing glass you will figure out the way the straps are threaded--in time. If the makers had rearranged the information on the back of the package they could have added another 3x4 inches for a larger more detailed illustration of the threading. How much more cost in ink would that be? Now on to the product itself, on the surface it is a good idea and well executed. However the fault that I find with it is that I am a neck strap guy. So attaching the neck strap along with this grip results in a lot of unwanted bulk. That is the reason I am returning this item. So if you prefer to carry your camera rather than use a neck strap this product is well made for that purpose. I answer a great many questions on Yahoo Answers from people who refuse it seems to use the neck strap. The result someone walks into them and the camera is dropped and of course destroyed. This product is ideally suited for these people. I was just about to return this item for refund/and or credit. I find with restocking penalties which increased between the time the product was ordered (for Christmas) and the time it was to be returned tomorrow 12/27, the restocking penalty increased and resulting postage would set me back about 25% which is unacceptable to my mind. I therefore will quiry my relatives and see if they want the product. And never make a purchase from Amazon with "Norman Camera" as the vendor. 1This grip strap give you 100% freedom to handle camera ...This grip strap give you 100% freedom to handle camera. My Sony A6000 camera is small and I can do all camera setting with this grip strap on my hand. You can leave this camera on your hand and forget about it. 5Exellent alternative to a camera strap!I was looking to an alternative to having a camera swinging around my neck, not to mention the neck strain, and saw positive reviews of the promaster strap.Excellent quality & comfort. I used it at an airshow over the Memorial day weekend, and even after 5 hours in the hot sun, it was still comfortable to wear.I have now retired my camera strap and will only be using the promaster grip strap.Easy to attach to the camera, and has a pass through for the tripod, which means you don't have to remove it before using a tripod. For the price, you cannot go wrong. 5You can use this strap along with your neck strapAfter carrying my Canon 50D around for days and getting a sore neck, I decided to look for a hand strap. As I already had a Promaster Neck Strap which is well padded and comfortable (at least in the short term). I ordered this grip without looking further. It arrived promptly from the seller. The instructions could be a little clearer; I found one video on Youtube that showed how to use it but wasn't much help with installation. I decided to try to put this on my 50D along with the neck strap, since the neck strap unclips from the shorter ends that attach to the camera. The grip went on smoothly. So now I can put the camera around my neck if I want and just slide my hand through the grip loosely or use the adjustable portion of the grip tightened around my hand. The grip gives extra stabilization to the camera, even if you don't want to tighten it so you can carry the camera by only the grip. You have to loosen the plastic bottom and swing aside to change batteries, but not a biggie. Glad I ordered it. 5Love ItOrdered this for my child who is a professional photographer. She doesn't like using a neck strap...and she shoots for hours on end. She was starting to develop pain in her hand. I researched wrist straps online for hours. I found this one where someone demo-ed being able to release his grip on the camera and still maintain secure control. I ordered two for my child (two camera bodies/heavy cameras) and one for me. It takes a little working with it to get it adjusted just right for the users hand/wrist, but once you have it adjusted, you can put it on/remove it with the pinch of the clip....no readjusting needed. I would buy it again; I would recommend it. ...and best part -- my daughter is HAPPY! 5I love it!!!this is my second time of buying this item. the first one was stolen together with my dslr. :(this is a newer version. the bottom plate is now smaller. you now don't need to loosen the plate when replacing a battery. before, it have a small instruction guide on how to install the product. but, now. no more. overall. this is a great product. highly recomended. 5It does what it is suppose to doWhen I direst got it I thought it was the best invention ever. I stopped using my Canon neck strap because it hurts, so I thought a hand strap would be better. The Promaster strap clips around your wrist, so technically it us suppose to relieve all the strain from your fingers from gripping the body.Well, maybe it is because I have small hands, but it was never really secure. If I tighten it snug, then i would have a hard time moving my thumb to pressnthe buttons. I subconsciously always lightly supported my camera with my fingers, never really letting the whole weight of my camera rest on my wrist via the hand strap. Not to mention one of your hands will be tied up if you use a hand strap and you will have to constantly snap the hand strap's buckle off in order to use your right hand or Chang lenses.I use shoulder straps now (Optech, Luma Loop, Black Rapid, etc) and find those much better. 3not bad at all for less than $20This wrist grip has one drawback: on my Canon 60D, you have to loosen the bottom plate ( a large, easy to turn knurled wheel ) and rotate it out of the way in order to change the battery. So if you have a camera where you go through batteries like nothing, stay away from this as it will probably annoy you.The Canon 60D gets over 1,000 shots per charge, so that is not even remotely an issue for me, and by far outweighed by the brilliant quick-release buckle which allows me to release the camera grip from my hand WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE WAY THE GRIP feels once I snap it closed again. Look carefully at the pictures supplied with some of the other wrist grips and only very few and far more expensive models have this feature. In essence, with those other grips, you have to lengthen the strip to get your hand out, tighten it to get back in, and not by using a cam buckle either but the same way you lengthen and shorten the traditional shoulder strap. To me that would be a deal breaker at any price. It's a really good product and if it had a way to eliminate the battery compartment issue then I'd easily give it 5 stars. What the previous reviewer said highlights an important issue: you just have to TRY IT before you decide to keep it. I have average-to-large hands and it works just fine with me, without the battery grip. 4
