    Great value and great craftsmanship I bought the crane, jib, and stand together and can't speak more highly of this product. It's very stout, well built, and easy to set-up and take-down. After a few times assembling the crane/jib I can have it up and running in 15 minutes. The only downside is, if you have to move it, it can be a bit cumbersome. But for this price that's not a problem. If you take the time to counter weight it properly this thing is smooth as silk. I had considered buying the bearing kit sold as an option but right now I can't see a reason to. If you're a budget shooter this crane will add some amazing production value to your scenes. 5ProAm Stand Sturdy & Light The ProAm Camera Crane Stand is designed to work with the DVC 200 and 250 series video camera cranes. When the crane is ordered with the stand the crane comes with the proper fitting that lets it be easily mounted to the stand. I was impressed with the stands light weight and even more so with its stability. The stand can be raised if needed and features a locking pin that is permanently connected to the stand. I've used the stand with the crane inside and outside and have found it does a nice job. The stand is lighter than a tripod but sturdy enough to safely operate the crane attachment. If purchasing the crane I think most would find the stand to be a wise investment. I purchased this item with the ProAm DVC 200 8 foot crane on Amazon and was delighted that it included free shipping as well a better price! 5Easy set up Good Value The two best items I like about this camera crane is the ease of set up and the price. Some of things I Don't like is some of the plastic fasteners look like they will break in the future,but you can get better fasteners at the local Home Depot. Instead of looking for a sturdy enough tripod to attach your jib on, I highly recommend getting this stand. I have the ProAm mini jib and I must say this stand holds up great. however it can get really heavy at times, I'm not exactly sure what the weight limit is, and I haven't had a chance to use the full size jib, so I can't give it a full 5 stars. Still a great stand!!!!!! It feels like it will hold most any jib you can attach to it. 4Solid product, but one tiny issue... It's solid, totally worth the investment and feels sturdy HOWEVER I was really bummed to see that the legs aren't individually adjustable. So if you're shooting on an un-level terrain, the tripod will be off kilter, and you can only solve this by sticking wood under a leg or something similar to make the tripod level. However, ProAm is a SOLID awesome company, aside from this complaint, they will definitely be my first choice when purchasing video gear! 4a good partner for the crane I had intended to use my tripod with the 8 foot crane but the crane is way too heavy, so I ordered the stand. The stand is very sturdy and well matched to the crane. I use a light camera (Canon XA10) qith 15 lbs of counterweight and the stand is very stable, at least so far indoors. The crane and stand fit together very easily with the fasteners provided (my tripod was going to require extensive hardware store purchases to even try to work). 5Quickest, easiest, sturdiest, least expensive way to get a stand for your Jib. Ok, let's face it, you can buy a Speaker Stand at Guitar Center and it will have a little "sleeve" adaptor included. That's pretty much what this is EXCEPT if you buy a speaker stand, it's probably more expensive AND you'll have to figure out how to drill a hole in the sleeve, you'll have to figure out how to secure the sleeve onto the stand so it doesn't twist and turn when you rotate your Jib. You'll spend an hour at Lowes, an hour messing around drilling the hole, and then you'll forget that you need to go buy a couple washers, a lock nut, and a thumb nut. So you'll spend another hour going to Lowes again. Hopefully this time you'll remember some grease so the whole thing rotates smoothly.So, just buy this. It's a good product and the people are great to work with. The stand itself is very sturdy, and it took me 3 minutes from the time I opened the box until I had my Jib on the stand and playing around with it.The next day, I took it to a wedding and it worked perfectly, even on soft dirt/grass, and even on uneven terrain. 5Sturdy yet light weight! As a support for your camera rig, you can't really go wrong! This stand is sturdy, with an adjustable height and footprint. It'll hold a lot of weight and won't wiggle on you.If you need to tote it, the stand weighs very little. Less than 10lbs overall. I can lug it around with me wherever I go. Not much more else to say about this. I'll be happy to answer questions about my experiences with it and my setup. 5/5 5Awesome Stand This tripod looks like stands for DJ speakers, but the included spin rotator made it worth the price. This holds my heavy jib setup and works great. My jib is from another brand btw, so these work with other large jib setups as well. 5A great lo cost alternative I'm using this jib stand to support a jib that was made for use on conventional tripods, and does not come with the option to place on a stand like this. Not ready to plunk down 3 or 400 bucks on a good tripod just yet, I opted for the ProAm jib stand, which is rated for up to a hundred pounds. It works great, but I do wish ProAm had put a large diameter tightening knob on the mounting cup that goes over the mast. I think that small knob may have been a change to reduce the likelyhood of counterbalance weights striking the bigger knobs. It does take a vice to tighten though.I do have two other jibs by ProAm, and I'm using the same stands for them with no problems.I was able to integrate a heavy duty fluid tripod head to this jib stand with nearly no problems, other than needing a good bit of strength to tighten the bolt into the fluid head enough to stop the head's lower plate from rotating with the jib when pivoting the jib.I think the right conventional tripod would be more rigid, but as I mentioned, I just don't have the scratch for a nice heavy duty tripod. This is a good alternative. 5
