    Great bright light-no color bulbs, green or red I was under the impression that this light had a green LED - it does not, WHITE LED only. But for my purposes, I needed a bright, white headlamp for running in the early predawn or evening. This light, even at the low setting is really bright. It is replacing the PT Fuel light. Another bright and smal light by PT is the Byte, but it uses battery power, even when off unless you remember to slide the lock-that's a pain.I highly recommend this Remix, even with the color light being absent. 5First night running headlamp.... This is my first headlamp to be used for running at night so I have no comparisons to go on here, plus I ve only used it twice so far so I may need to do an update later.Firstly, this seems pretty solidly made, the strap is decent and the lamp brightness is good....on all settings. In fact it blinded me briefly as I was stupid enough to be looking directly at it when turning it on for the first time. The casing is good and you are easily able to get the batteries in & out.When running it bobs up & down a bit and I may just need to get used to that, and although it was annoying at first I realized I didn t really notice after a while.My one issue with this is that it can get slightly painful at the front on the forehead. As the casing is solid it can dig in a bit, and it s fairly small so the surface area is concentrated more...perhaps if it was spread out a bit it would be less focused on one spot on the head. Not sure, I m not a designer.....I don t think I would wear this without a hat or headband as that definitely helps. So only 4 stars for this so far. 4Light, easy to use. It seems like I've been slowly finding excuses to replace all my hand-held flash lights with headlamps, haha - I no longer see the point of occupying one hand to hold a light source and I don't know why it took me so long to come to this realization. I suppose the pro of traditional flash light is that they have the capacity of being bright and going for longer if they have a large battery capacity - but for most uses the headlamp is golden. I keep them in my adventuring pack, car, etc.Previously I bought a few Princeton Quad models which are a little pricier than the Remix - the Quad uses three AAAs (just like the Remix), is supposedly waterproof to a few meters and designed for things like kayaking (never tested this out - the Remix is "water resistant"), has three brightnesses and one flashing mode. When I compared the Quad and Remixes on the brightness level, it seemed like the Remix was just a little bit brighter, though that could have been a case of fresh batteries in the Remix - either way, not much difference in brightest to me. - So the difference in price, I think, is the water proof-ness.The biggest difference between the two is the feel of the operating button. The Quad's button feels sort of like pushing microwaves buttons while the Remix feels more like a keyboard key - I prefer the Remix's approach, it just feels more "confident" for lack of better description.The Remix has four brightnesses, settings. I got the green light variety, so the first two brightnesses are tinted green and the next two brightnesses are white. I just went on a hike the other night: the first level I would compare to moonlight during a full moon - just enough to navigate moderate terrain/trail if you are in the field. Boosts an impressive burn time. What would make it even better? If there were a safety button or something to prevent accidental "on" switches, though I've never, to my knowledge, had this happen. 5Green and white light Headlamp After using cheap headlamps that are available everywhere now, I am pleased to give this Princeton a 5 star review. Though it is more expensive than all the other basic headlamps, it has the features I most wanted: green light as well as white. I use the green when I just want to see well and the white if I need to read or really get something illuminated. It says it's assembled in the USA. I'm very happy with it so far. 5awesome light! absolutely the best headlamp i've ever owned. somebody really thought through the design. First, it defaults to RED lens and you have to hold it down for white. I am in the army, and when out in the field you can't have a white light. i used to have to cover up my old one with my hands first to cycle through white to get to red. next, the red light has 2 settings, both in spotlight but has a little flood. awesome for working in red light. also, the white light has 2 settings, both quite bright. awesome light. Spend the extra money and get it. I've had many cheap ones.if i had to put a negative about this one, and its minor, it doesn't have a hard switch anymore like their old ones used to to prevent it from accidentally getting pressed on in a bag. however, the button is harder to press so it evens out. I do wish that they had a rechargeable option too though.i would still get it, as is, again in a heartbeat if i needed a reliable and well built light for heavy duty use. 5Overall good but fragile The battery door hinge is fragile. Overall, it rides well on my head, tolerates a variety of hats, is bright, is easy to operate with gloves, and is reasonably priced.The beam is not focused which is a liability if you want light thrown well front of you, as on a bicycle, but which is an asset at a walking pace. 4Good Light, but dont drop it on a hard floor. I'm about to order my third light, I use for working in attics, underneath houses, or any application I need more light as an HVAC technician. The only problem I've encountered with this light is it's very susceptible to damage if you drop it. Dropped mine in a carport today and the cap that's opposite of the battery door broke off. This is the second time this has happened to me. Yep the fault is mine, just wish it was a little more forgiving in this department.The light performs very well, I like the different illumination selections it offers. The light is very light weight with a small form factor that doesn't get in my way, which I like. I like how I can swivel the light to put the beam directly at what I'm working on. All in all this is a really good light for the money, take special care not to drop it and carefully open the battery door. If I break the third, I still order another, that's how much I've become attached to this light. 4I like these. Small for the amount of light I like these. Small for the amount of light. The red light is a plus too.My only complaint about these, and it's true with all the Princeton Tec stuff is the switches go after a while.You will be working on something and they just go off. Often you can push the switch again and turn them back on.I live on a farm and use them nearly every day though. I can get 9 months to a year out of one.The life on these is intermediate.The shortest lifespan is on the BYTE, I had 2 but they lasted only a few months.The Fuel lasted me about 6 months, I had 3 of them.The Remix lasted 9 months I may have had one go a year.The Corona lasted a little over a year, however I ordered 2 and 1 the switch was bad from the beginning so it had to be sent back.So for me the Remix is the best combination of durability and price. I love the Corona but for the price it does not last long enough.I had gotten the Bytes to put in the car as an emergency light but even without much use they stopped working after a few months so there was some sort of wear happening just from them exsisting. 4perfect for my uses Right from the start I found this light to be perfect but had a problem with the fact that it could not be positioned in downward direction as an option. I do a lot of night time photography and was discouraged because if I tilted my head down far enough to see my camera settings etc., I had to try and focus my eyes all of the ways upward to see the lighted area. Then I tried using it around my neck instead of on my forehead.I made the strap just loose enough that it was not tight on my throat and now it is perfect. Around the neck it follows a downward angle and perfectly illuminates my camera and hands so I can work with my equipment. This also keeps the light at an angle that it is not visible outside of my immediate area.I'm sure there are many cautions about using the camera in this way but I don't see any more concerns than wearing a necklace.I still would like to see an improvement so that like with other headlights one can angle the light downwards but when used around the neck it is absolutely perfect. It is easy to then slip it back up to my forehead if I need to walk around, but even then, I prefer the downward angle to see what's going on in front of my feet. 5Bright, Versatile Headlamp I had a Princeton Tec Byte that I loved for years which finally bit the dust. This has been a great replacement - it's even brighter, and doesn't have the Byte's issue of draining the battery while it's turned off. The red LEDs are great as well. My only minor complaint is that, if you have the white LED on one brightness setting and want to change it, you have to turn it off and cycle through the settings to get back to the one you want. Not a big deal, though. Still a great buy. 5
