This setup eliminates the switching from the utility power to battery backup. I had nothing no lights, frig nothing. .3 hours later sitting in the car for the AC couldn't go get one cant leave a dog in the car here...so finally got charger. the unit never ran the green light was on so thought it was charging it wasn't. My new Dewalt battery charger does the exact same thing this does just not hardwired in.. That's ok going solar soon anyhow.. 1
