    I've had these for 4 seasons mounted on the exterior ... I've had these for 4 seasons mounted on the exterior of my boat which is exposed to the weather April thought December mostly at the dock (salt water). They may look a little faded but still function perfectly. If they ever fail I will buying another set to replace them. 5Five Stars sounds great so far and easy to mount 5A liitle smaller than I thought, but happy with them. Decent sound. quality of unit is solid, and appears it will weather the water very wel. 4weak bass Replaced my flush-mount JVC speakers (facing down into a shelf) in cabin of my 36 ft sailboat with these mounted on the bulkhead so the sound comes directly to my ears. The bass is very weak. I need to turn up tuner to +3 AND turn on Loudness button to get any kind of bass out of it. But then my West Marine flush-mount cockpit speakers are much too deep. Constantly adjusting bass back and forth when on the water (cockpit) vs dock (cabin). Polyplanar claims "concert-hall quality". I don't think so. Otherwise pleased with better audio in my face than prior setup 3Sound good, look good Pretty good speakers 4Five Stars Great sound. Easy to install. Clean and perfect for what I need them for. 5Five Stars These sound really good and were easy to mount. 5High sound quality While cruising on the water it was difficult to hear my boat stereo speakers which came equipped mounted behind the helm. So I needed to supplement them w/ speakers in front. I originally purched some "marine" speakers from a local marine store but was very disappointed with the quality. I read about Poly Planar and searched the net and found these on Amazon for an incredible price. The quality is excellent and so was the price. You won't regret putting these on any boat. The insulated speaker wire is heavy duty and so are the front covers. They will rock the dock!!! 5Broken, wrong color Product cane damaged and repaired- although advertised as new. It was also cream colored with white cables attached and in box marked white. 1Great speakers for our sailboat We ordered these speakers to replace one of the outdoor speakers (enclosed in a plastic housing supplied by Navpod) on our sailboat. The boat was produced in 2001, and one of the old speakers just stopped working. We researched the speakers on Poly-Planar's web site, then found the best price for them at Audio Allies (through Amazon). They are good speakers for the size, and have held up well in the challenging marine environment. However, the original equipment speakers have a embedded, threaded tube on the top to use to attach the speaker to the Navpod shell. On the working speaker (we replaced them both because the old speakers had a black face and the new ones were only available in white) that threaded tube was stripped. We had to use a Dremel cutting tool to cut off the head of the bolt in order to get the old speaker out of the housing. Don't know if that would also be a potential problem with these speakers, but they use the same mechanism. Hopefully we won't ever find out, because they won't fail and need to be replaced. 5
