Customer Reviews

goodWhy are people using this for remote trigger? This adapter is meant to go on top of cameras that don't have PC sync port. It outputs a signal. It doesn't receive a signal. So yeah, if you're using it to remote trigger a flash that doesn't have a PC sync port, of course it is not going to work. After ignoring all the 1-stars, I bought it and glad I did. It feels pretty decently made. It works on both my Canon 5D Mark II and Canon T3i.5Broke after first connection to PC cord.It broke the first time I plugged in a PC cord. The PC connection just backed out of its mount. I had to disassemble it and re-glue the mount points. It seems to work now, but I will have to keep an eye on it. Overall the build seems reasonable, I probably just got a lemon. I am using this to connect a DSLR with out a PC plug to an Alien Bee, and it will get the job done after the repair. But if it fails again, I will probably epoxy it rather than superglue it.1Great Adapter for Sony MI Hot ShoeI wanted to use a manual flash with a standard hot shoe on my Sony A6000 which has the new Sony MI shoe. The flash unit I bought would fit and fire the flash, but because the alignment pin hole on the MI hot shoe does not line up with the pin on a standard hot shoe, the tiniest movement of the flash would make it lose contact and keep it from firing consistently. The Pixel TF-334 solved the problem perfectly AND raised the flash position higher above the lens so it performs even better. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.5NOT your solution for adding PC port to off-camera flash! If you are looking to add a PC port to a remote speedlight, this is NOT your solution. The PC port only functions to SEND a signal out and will not receive signal. For example, if the adapter is mounted to your on-camera hotshoe you can plug a cable into it to send a signal from your camera to an off-camera device. However, if you mount this adapter to an off-camera speedlight attached to a wireless receiver via the PC port, it will not work. There are other adapters out there for this purpose, but they are not (yet?) available on Amazon. For that, do an online search for Flash Zebra PC to flash hotshoe adapter .That being said, if you need a device to add a PC port to your camera, this seems like an adequate solution. I didn t experience any problems when testing it that way.4Well-made, solid construction This hot shoe adapter is compact and sturdy. The fact that it uses the canon style screw in- rotateable plug is actually a really nice feature. Normal plugs have a tendency to fall out, this one will not. I'm using this with flashes that have standard sync outs because of this. 5It s not necessaryTried this with my Nikon SB 500 and Sony a6500. For most of what I need, it does not add anything extra over just putting the flash on the camera s hot shoe. The camera triggers the flash fine without the device. Just shoot in manual mode and use the histogram to dial in the right settings.1Help my Sony a7ii communicate with my yongnuoGreat value for the price, it stands firmly after I use it to connect my Sony a7ii And yongnuo flash controller. Can change the setting for the flash in the controller. Group, zone, power, channel, etc. I am very happy with the purchase and I would recommend this product.4Sony A55V will need an additional adapterI was able to get the Yongnuo 560 IV to work on my Sony A55V with this adapter, but it needed to be installed on top of another adapter! The ADP-AMA shoe adapter goes under this one, and while it felt sturdy, common sense told me not to push such tiny attachments in such circumstances. I decided to return this (very well built) product and go with the Godox line of speedlights simply because they only need the one adapter. Still, if you need this and know what you need it for, it's a nice quality part!5Works great. Well constructedI am a professional Wedding photographer and the Canon 6d that I use as a backup camera body doesn't have a PC sync port built into it (i know...shame on canon). I shoot off camera flash and I needed a PC sync port to plug my Cybersync CST trigger into as I like to have 1 speedlight on my camera's hotshoe and then have the CST trigger firing off the remote flashes via the PC sync port. I had my 2nd photographer shoot with this adapter for the past 3 weddings and it has held up really well. It has threads on the port so I can still use my screw lock cables and it locks down extremely well to the hot shoe. No risk of it falling off with a flash attached to the top of it. The plastic seems durable and of solid construction. Glad to see a great work around that didn't cost a lot of money. To those that are looking to use this as an adapter to run a PC sync cable to a flash, ....this isn't the adapter for that. I have yet to find one of those adapters on amazon, but I know that Flash Zebra has a few different ones that work well.5Not sturdy enough. In my previous review I gave it a 5 star rating. Unfortunately now I have to change it. The metal plate receptacle on top could not withstand the weight of the flash and stresses of shooting. It completely separated from the device's body leaving flash dangling on a few thin connecting wires. Four metal screws holding the plate simply broke through the plastic floor inside the device to which they were attached.I might yet buy a replacement but will use it sparingly and only with light flashes like Canon 430 ex. 3Doesn't work with any Canon flash I ownI would leave zero stars if I could. This adapter doesn't work at all with the A7R3, when used in combination with a Canon 430EXII, 600EX-RT, ST-E3, Yongnuo 600EX-RT, or Yongnuo YN-ST-E3.By "doesn't work", I mean that the camera doesn't even detect that a flash is attached; therefore, the flash cannot fire. I did not try the PC connector, as this is not useful to me (the camera has one built in, anyhow).1Stopped working after 4 months.Being from Pixel, I thought this adapter was going to last a while. There are really cheap ones, Pixel quality, and then really expensive ones. I opted for middle of the line as I know PC adapters and cords are notorious for failing. It made it 4 months before it stopped working all together... which was a bummer. While it wasn't a super expensive piece of equipment, its just annoying when such a trivial piece stops working. We were originally using it on a Canon SL1 which doesn't have a PC port.. and we needed the ETTL for focus assist. Unfortunately we had to pony up for a higher price adapter made in the US.2
