    Works wellGirlfriend has a 94 ranger with only 2 speakers. The stock ones made me wanna kill myself, so i bought her these for christmas. They definitely did the trick, i can stand to ride in her truck and they are good enough for her as shes not super picky anyway. If you just need a cheap factory replacement, look no further. They are much better quality than a crappy scosche or other brand that go for basically the same price.5Spend a little more money. (2007 Mazda Miata NC)I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 2007 Mazda Miata(non-Bose). The sound is quite disappointing, in terms of power handling, it s just barely better than the stock speakers they were replacing, similar weight and appearance as stock too, the magnet is pretty small on this unit. The sound is also quite anemic and gutless, very little bass(in a baffle and sound deadened door), the mids are quite flat, and the treble is very tinny and peaky. These sound charecteristics are something you really don t want from a door speaker. Luckily I have a subwoofer to mask the poor bass but I really did expect more from an aftermarket solution especially from a more reputable company like pioneer. I m not completely disappointed because they do handle a little more power than stock and it can get a little louder without distortion but if you can, spend a little bit more and buy more quality speakers because I can assure you that these are not a very large improvement(at least for my vehicle). But, if you re looking to replace blown speakers in your vehicle and want something equal or just slightly better than stock speakers, these just might satisfy your needs.And yes, I did play with EQ settings and the sound characteristics of the speaker still made the experience quite unpleasant.3Awsome sound at an amazing price.Pioneer makes the best sounding speakers for the price hands down. These are another perfect example of perfection for a minimal price. When paired with a decent receiver these produce a clean crisp sound. While these do lack the bass of larger 6x9's they do handle the power extremely well. They also work well with stock radio units because they do not require a lot of power to drive them. AND if you drive a Ford or Mazda, these are custom made for them---says so right on the speakers.5Glad I bought theseAfter I did some research I found that these were the best sellers on Crutchfield at twice the price. Needless to say I replaced the door skins on my Mustang and decided it was time for an upgrade. After considering many more expensive speakers I decided to buy these. I had my fingers crossed because I'm kind of an audio junkie being a musician and former sound engineer. The treble is nice and crisp so the cymbals come out perfectly. It also had nice bass and midrange making it just what I was looking for. If you want something good to upgrade your factory system with look no further. Also these are direct replacement for Mazda and Ford. They lined up perfectly with no modification in my 2010 Mustang.5Great fit for my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4Great fit for my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 supercab. Replaced all 4 speakers and it took me about an hour and a half, taking my time. You'll only need a phillips drive and 5mm socket.Use Metra 72-5600 Ford Spearker Harness 1998-UP5Sounded worse than factory speakers!Terrible! Gave one star for sound quality only because they did produce sound. They actually sounded worse than my factory speakers - and that is really hard to do in a Ford. Absolutely no bass reproduction, and the treble was faded and hard to hear. The midrange was OK, but that is only because it didn t have any lows or highs to compete with. For the first time in my life, I reinstalled the factory speaker because these were a downgrade.All of this coming from a 20 plus year user of pioneer speakers. I ve always had good luck with Pioneer, especially their 2-way series. There are no words to adequately describe my disappointment. Worse than the money wasted, is my time.These are the last Pioneer speakers i will ever buy. Save your money and time and get something else.1Great speakers.Way better than the factory speakers. I installed these on an 05 F150 supercrew. The front speakers had to have the 2 extra tabs cut off but the back ones bolted right up. Definitely clearer mids and highs compared to factory speakers. If you bought these and installed them using the metra 72-5600 speaker harness make sure the polarity isn't reversed. If you hook them up with the polarity reversed they will sound like crap. I'm pretty sure all the bad reviews are because of the bad harness and not the speakers themselves.5Good fit and sound niceThese fit nicely in our 2011 Fusion with the Sony stereo and sound fine. Unfortunately, I'm used to a Bose system and this Sony just doesn't sound near as good, so I can't say just how good they sound relative to the originals (one of the speakers was damaged and needed replacement). My son believes that they sound fine. It was nice for a proper fit.4Great replacement speakers!20+ years ago, I was a competition car audio installer. Our shop's primary demo vehicle contained an almost entirely Pioneer-equipped system. It included 6 of each size driver made by Pioneer for a total of 48 speakers ranging from 1" tweeters to 12" subwoofers, all powered by a total of 16 amplifiers. The only non-Pioneer components were an Orion pre-amp and a Precision Power octave EQ. We built a custom switch panel so the system could be configured in a nearly infinite combination of speakers and amplifiers.The day finally came to leave that job behind, as much as I enjoyed it, but despite having won shows with big brands like Orion, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, et al, I maintained my conviction that there is no better midrange line of car audio components than Pioneer.So when it came time to replace the stock speakers in my Ford Escape, I looked to Pioneer first thing. No, they're not fancy or high end but they're a perfect fit for my car and a definite upgrade to the factory sound.Initially, the polypropylene cones don't sound very warm and they tend to "bottom" a little on lower frequencies. But after about a week of break-in, the sound quality is every bit as warm and punchy as any paper cone. The added tweeter brightens up the highs and really transforms the sounds from your factory radio.And, as I mentioned, the fact that they are dropout in replacements, it really doesn't get much simpler. I simply skinned back about a half-inch of each factory speaker wire, spliced the provided wires with tape, and the entire job took less than 30 minutes including removing and reinstalling the door panels. (You can always buy aftermarket speaker harnesses if skinning wires makes you nervous but when I was doing this for a living, such harnesses were not widely available. If we used the factory cabling on a simple install, we skinned, soldered, and taped, leaving the factory plug instact.) I just skipped the soldering part because nobody's going to be inspecting my wiring for points!Anyway, great speakers and they come with everything you need to do the job yourself, provided you have the right tools:Door panel toolPhillips screwdriver7 mm (I'm pretty sure any way) nut driverWire strippers or cuttersGood electrical tape. 3M Super 33 is the only tape I usePatience!You can Google the speaker wire colors for your car to ensure you maintain the correct polarity in your connectionsThanks for reading & hope this helps5
