    USE IN WOOD SHOPYOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO THIS PRODUCT BUT OVER ALL AFTER THE ADJUSTMENTS WORKS VERY WELL.YOU CAN LOOK ON YOU TUBE AND SEE THE ADJUSTMENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE.2Perfect edge ... Honing Guide is imperfectPerfect edge Chisel and Planer Blade Honing Guide is imperfect. It takes a lot of fiddling to get the chisel blade square to the tool and the blade set to the right bevel. It also easily cants unintentionally ruining the bevel up to that point. I had lost my Veritas guide and was trying to replace it on the cheap. Dumb!2A little challengingChallenging for me on the small chisels and trouble getting the angle properly.4Don't waste your money.Pretty much junk. I bought it for chisels but the groves through the body are too narrow to grip my chisels. The chisel body also hits the guide so it can't be be properly seated in the tool, they're always at an angle. I tried 1/4, 3/4, and 1-1/4 inch chisels. Same bad hold for all 3. The other reviews don't appear to be accurate or they're chisels are different from mine (Craftsman, nothing too fancy) . Disappointed and returned.1It works fine for most purposes. Some modification recommended.I've used this iron for sharpening plane irons (both straight and cambered) and chisels. It is a simple device which more or less works as intended. At worst, you will have some difficulty fitting a chisel with flat sides into it.It may sharpen unevenly, at a slant. This is because they are manufactured imprecisely on a minute scale. You can compensate for this by filing down the two faces of the guide to be even. A good guide is available online for this process, called "Tune Up a Cheap Honing Guide" by Christopher Schwarz in Popular Woodworking Magazine. The concept of this type of blade holder is good, the quality of accuracy and firmly holding different types of blades to be sharpened is poor from my use so far.1Practical Bery good adea and works great to sharpen the chisels 4This works!This works! Its tedious but you get good edges. The only problem I have with it is that the profile for holding chisels seems unsuited to the edges ob my chisels and when you can't fit them properly you don't get 90 degree edges.2Works greatNeed a razor sharp, tool this is the product to have.5Three Stars It is easy to set up, but the horizontal alignment for the chisels have the tendency to shift 3Thank you Woodworking good 5still got issuesAlthough this has IMPROVED my sharpening there are still issues with it.1. The castings are not as accurate as you'd like them to be. This means that you spend a longer time setting the chisel in the fixture than it takes to sharpen it! Just a small additional amount of attention to detail in the finishing would alleviate this.2. There is more side to side play in the wheels than I had hoped for. This means that you have to go exceedingly slowly and be really, really careful in keeping the horizontal plane constant to avoid getting multiple angled planes on the chisel.To be honest I probably wouldn't buy this again even though it has helped me. I will have to spend a LOT of money to get a better system but as my workload increases I don't see a lot of options.3OK for the occasional user.The item is ok for most peoples ocational use. The grooves the chisels fit into for alignment into the guide are not as good as i expected. Not machibed metal, sort of a molded metal like materiel in the main frame body.3
