Amazon Customer Review Win Again I had been struggling along with cheap headsets with only one ear coverage, and adjustment volume that was laughingly sub-par.With the history of the OvisLink product shown in these reviews, I spent the extra bucks and bought this unit.I am early into use of this headset, but I found out right away that it is outstandingly LOUD. The unit itself does not have a volume control, but the phone I use it on has 3 settings, so I now have a really useful setupThere is one disappointment. I'd have liked to have had larger ear-covering hearing muffs. But still, this is a high quality piece of electronics that I would rate as 4.8._________________LATER EDIT: It's 1-22-2014. Almost from my first use of the headset, I was faced with occasional failure if I moved the phone or stretched the cord. I wrote if off to the very old phone. It was not a big problem, until one day I needed to get up and get something, and as a result, lost the connection.Here's the Readers Digest version: Six months had gone by since it was put in service, but the vendor OvisLink answered my email in a flash. We discussed the problem, and we both agreed that the Quick Disconnect feature (allowing the end pin to be plugged in, but disconnected half way up the cord) could well be the problem.Another lightning bolt vendor action made the new QD-25 cord appear in my mailbox, and the unit now works perfectly.Big league customer service by a big league vender. Much appreciated.Rossi 4Good sound, stays put I got this headset to replace another OvisLink headset (one earpiece design) that had a very loose headband and kept slipping. This one stays put, the sound is clear and the headset is comfortable. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because I agree with some other reviewers that it would be better if it had in-line volume control. I can control volume through my phone, but then need to adjust it again when using the phone without the headset. I spend hours a day on conference calls and am very happy with this headset. 4Perfect for a call center I normally do not write reviews but after working with Cyber Acoustics for several years I decided to pull the trigger and get these that were 6 times the cost. Our call center operators could not believe the difference. Not only could they hear the other person on the other line much louder, it was much more crisp as well. We used to have people on the other line say they cannot hear us, now that is no longer an issue. Longevity...we'll wait and see but very impressive! 5Good sound, wires can break at plug Used this for about 3 years, found the sound was good (both the mic, and for listening). The mic was nicely adjustable, and the earpieces reasonably comfortable -- a much better choice than the "one-ear" designs. A mute button would have been nice, especially at this price. Have to take off a point for limited durability, as the insulation slid off the wires going into the plug going into the phone headset, fraying the wires so that suddenly I could hear but cannot be heard. For this reason I would recommend that, if you get this headset, wrap some gaffers tape around the plug and the first inch or so of wire, to keep the wire immobile at that stress-point. 4Perfect Performance I have a hearing disability and my previous headset finally went south. I looked for several days to find a headset that was biaural and had a 2.5mm jack so I can plug it in to my phone. I was amazed at the sound difference (much louder) and the clarity of this item. I can now hear the caller clearly without having to turn the volume all the way up on the handset. And all of the people I call can hear me clearly as well. I don't know about wearing it all day as I only put it on when I make or recive a call. I have had it on for over an hour with a couple of calls and my ears were still OK (did not hurt) when I removed the headset. The headset was delilvered on time and in excellent condition. 5Awesome headset!!! Perfect for my work-at-home days. This is a well-built, comfortable headset, being used with a Polycom Soundpoint Pro SE-220 base phone. My listeners can hear me very well when I speak, and I have a very small voice, so that is a great benefit. However, most voices I'm listening to on this headset are so loud it's painful, even with the base phone volume set as low as it will go. I have to take the speaker off of one ear, and place the other speaker half-on. If these had an in-line way to adjust the volume, I'd be keeping them for sure, but it's just too painful, so I'll be returning the device.UPDATE: I contacted the seller of this item to arrange a return, but they suggested adding an optional "quick-disconnect" cable for $10 that has additional volume control (and a mute button) built-in to the cord. I received the new cord today, and it works GREAT. I love this headset and am thrilled that there was a simple solution to the loud volume. If you are considering this item.. get it!!!.. but be sure to get the optional volume control cable as well and you will have no regrets! 5Some good features. No issues so far. I'd probably buy it again. Surprisingly heavy. Feels durable. We're only a few hours in, so time will tell. Sound is good, no issues with callers reporting volume problems on the mic. I wish the ear buds were bigger, it doesn't fully drown out the room, which is what we needed for the call center enviornment we're in. I'd consider these a little expensive for what they are, but I'm not aware of a cheaper alternative. They're as good as the next more expensive, but not an amazing value.The industry standard style inline break free disconnect was a nice surprise. Was probably mentioned but I glossed over it. The cord length and coiled bit were a nice touch.The connector fit a little funky in my cisco SPA 504G The outside diameter came up against the case. Took some wiggling and shoving to get it seated. I kind of like it this way though, less likely to get unplugged on accident (of course, that would take some work to do). 4Great for Portable and Permanent Home Phone - Solid, clear No Volume or Mute included. I bought this for use with my Panasonic Cordless Home Phone (to be clear, NOT a Cell Phone). It is a very substantial piece of equipment! The 2.5mm plug fits perfectly into the side of the reciever and the cord is a combination of tight Coil that stretches to about 3 fit and a 18 inch straight cord from ear piece to the coil.The ear pieces are snug and sound proof. They fit me perfectly (slightly big headed - yes in both uses of the phrase) and stay put. I can't hear much outside of me when wearing these so you may want to remember you may be speaking louder than you think.My only complaint and it's not a small one- It's very loud for incoming voices and there is no volume control or mute. So everything relies on the equipment. To it's credit, it says it's a "Call Center Headset" so I'm not using it for what it is intended for but I wanted something that sounded GREAT and this is the headset if you work from home and need a clear device that sets your hands free! 4Excellent sound and comfort I purchased this headset because I moved from an office into a cubicle setting. I really wanted the dual ear configuration to drown out the noisy cubicle environment when I need to. The sound is excellent, although the volume is quite high. This may be more of an issue with the phone I'm using, but I can't get the volume low enough. Depending on who I am talking to, I sometimes wear the ear pieces forward of my ears. The headsets are very comfortable either way, even through 8-hour teleconferences.The noise-cancelling microphone also works great. It is easily positionable, and nobody complains about how they hear me. I also appreciate the quick disconnect feature, which I didn't think I would use. They make running to the bathroom during these marathon teleconferences very easy. These headsets may be a bit pricey compared to some of the others out there, but they are well worth it! 5Great Sound, Great Features I do LOTS of talking on the phone, and struggle to hear over a noisy office. Some of my clients are rather soft spoken as well.It was very hard to find a headset with two earphones that also fits into a standard phone. This is a great headset, with great sound.Very satisfied with it. If you have a standard phone and want a headset with two earphones, this is your baby. 5
