Customer Reviews

Sturdy Strap!! Trying to figure out the difference between the Pro loop and the Uni Loop is this- the location of the buckles. The one I bought has the buckles in the same location on both sides. The other one has one buckle closer to the neoprene. That is the only difference. I love this strap. The ends are thick and takes a little doing to fit through the Coolpix P-900 but once on, I feel it is very strong and it feels very comfortable around my neck when I take long walks looking for wildlife. I recommend this strap. It is all nylon so no leather which is a GREAT thing since I am a vegan!!! 5Pro quality, Amateur price!! Hard to find a quick release strap, straps drive me nuts when camera is mounted on a tripod. Other QR straps are just too expensive, these are well built, click locks are angled just a bit, making it nearly impossible to accidently release. I can trot with this strap on a D500 with battery pack & 200-500mm AFS thrown over my shoulder, and this strap takes all the bouncing just fine. Tested it on an older F2, placed the camera on a floor, foot on top of the finder, and pulled upward on the strap, putting an easy 50+ lbs of pressure on the strap. No creaking, little stretch, no stitch failure. But I bet my F2 hates me now... 5Great product! Yet another great product from OP/TECH. I have several of their filter packs and I love their lens hoods. This is the second camera strap I have from OP/TECH and while both are great, I like this one the best. Both straps are essentially the same. My first OP/TECH camera strap has the disconnect clips next to the shoulder pad, where this strap has the disconnect clips about 3" from the body mounts. The original strap worked great until I bought a new Sony a99MK2, removed the strap from my original DSLR and installed it on the a99ii, intending to purchase a replacement from OP/TECH for my original body.Up front I should have been thinking of this. My original DSLR very rarely saw a tripod, but my new a99ii spends most of its life on a tripod outdoors. It doesn't take much wind to get those straps flopping around all over, causing noticeable image degradation. Yes, you can tie them up with rubber bands, twisties or whatever but that is a pain in the rear end when the camera is on and off the tripod every few minutes. So, the old strap quickly went back on the original body where I should have left it. :)A quick browse of OP/TECH's products quickly turned up the 'Super Classic Strap'. Excellent quality just like my original strap and without the 12-14" of strap still attached to the camera when the shoulder pad is removed. Strong wind still tends to blow the 'stubs' around but not nearly as bad as the much longer ones. So far I can't seen any image degradation in my images so I'm very happy.Another nice thing about this strap vs my older one is that when the camera is on a tripod and the strap is disconnected, the ends don't have a tendency to snag on ever stick, week or branch within 20 yards. :)The shoulder pad section - like my original - is very comfortable. A a99MK2 DSLT or a900 DSLR with a Zeiss 16-35 or 24-70 is maybe a bit much (especially with a grip and two batteries) for this strap. I think OP/TECH intended this strap for something just a tad smaller and lighter. However, I've been using my original strap for years and have never had a complaint. The shoulder pad is very soft and comfortable even considering its relatively narrow width and I've never seen the need for something more. The compactness of the strap also means its light and takes up little room in a bag/backpack. Very important when weight or space (or both) are at a premium. 5Well Made, Comfortable Strap! This is a wonderful camera strap! I have love using it and do not regret my purchase! I have been using this camera strap on my Canon Rebel t4i for about 2 years now. Well, I should clarify, I've used the wrist strap for that long. I'm not one to use the neck strap on a camera because I find it more distracting than helpful. I like to take lost of different angled shots, so I would usually have to take a neck strap off of my neck to achieve the desired angles. That's where this Op/Tech strap comes in. I chose it specifically for the wrist strap conversion and to have the nice neoprene neck option for times when I'm caring my camera all day. It is also a bonus that it does not scream 'nice expensive camera here,' like a OEM Canon or Nikon strap, while I'm doing travel and street photography. I have never once worried about the quality of the strap or the clips. It has been strong and reliable from day one. I think it could handle the bigger more professional cameras just fine. If you have a smaller bodied camera, this strap might be over kill.Overall, the strap has held up very well in the past 2 years. There is not much wear on it even with all the car and airplane travel I have done with it. Highly recommended! 5Great strap. Love the loops. Good strap. Replacement for one that is at least 20 years old (as a pro and traveler I've more than abused this strap.) The loops are a great improvement! The old thread-through buckles dropped my Nikons a few times until I just started sewing them shut. These loops are easy on the camera body, and reliable. My experience is that these neoprene padded straps cuts the weight of the camera by 2/3rds. I've put them on every strap for every bag, camera.... The clips I've never had a problem with. (I have a similar but larger 2" clip-that does pop open, so if these ever slip from wear--replace it. Until you replace it, wrap it in tape. The wear doesn't show. Still if I slung heavy DSLRS for years and years without any problem.....). This new strap is about 3" shorter than my old strap. I prefer longer straps--even if most of the time I don't use the whole length. If it's just me an the camera, maybe a notebook, then I like the camera on my side down by my belt. The construction, except for the loops, is exactly the same as my old strap--so this should hold up long after Apple comes up with a 32K retina insert and it's mandatory we install them. On my old strap the neoprene padded strap separated a few years ago from the backing. The cross stitching is still holding to the lower straps. That's good engineering. Definitely the loops. There is absolutely no reason to use the other method. 4I was pleased with the quality of the build and the padding ... Ok. I've read the reviews and ordered 2 of these after reading them for my Canon 7D and 5D Mark III. I was pleased with the quality of the build and the padding around the neck strap. It feels nice and is strong enough to support my heaviest gear being the 5D Mark III with a 70-200 2.8 IS lens attached.I first tried to install one on my 7D and had difficulty getting the first strap through on the left side of the camera but eventually succeeded. Then I tried the more difficult right side and was having a bit more difficulty...that is until the light came on in my head and I decided to grab a pair of needle nose pliers. With that said I pinched the end loop sides together and then crimped down on the tip to flatten it out. It slid through the camera with ease.Needless to say installing this item on my 5D went very quickly and smoothly. It is very comfortable but as some has pointed out is not long enough to carry your camera off your shoulder but around the neck it is long enough for this 6'2" male to hang down around the bottom of my stomach. This item is a significant upgrade to the basic strap provided with the camera and does indeed help reduce you as a target for camera thieves when traveling. 5What is a Classic Uni-Loop vs. Pro Loop vs. Super Pro difference? The difference between the OP/TECH Super Classic Strap Pro Loop, and the OP/TECH USA 1001062 Super Classic Strap-Uni Loop for cameras and binoculars is very straightforward once you buy both, as I did: the Pro loop has two connectors right at the sides of the neoprene shoulder (or neck, depending on what you call it) pad, and the Uni Loop does not. This is presumably so a Pro can use the former strap to remove the neo shoulder strap to use with other OP/Tech accessories. The threading loops that go into the camera/binocular strap metal arches, and the clips near those threading loops, and the adjustable side black nylon straps, and even the neoprene shoulder pad, are identical in these two models. So, one must decide if they want to pay five dollars more (price may vary with time) for the two uppermost plastic buckles--the ones at each of of the neoprene shoulder pad--or if they will never use them or need them. I'm in the latter group.Note: the Super Pro model features everything the same as the Pro Loop, but has a wider neoprene shoulder pad that is cut in a slight arc, or curve, to go around the neck profile. Also, the Super Pro model comes in colors for the neoprene (but, as any camera maven knows, only black will not show dirt). For me, it's unnecessary to have such a wide pad, even when I am carrying, say, my 4 pound 4 ounce 15x56mm binoculars; I prefer the thinner and non-curved shoulder pad of the Classic versions. Your preferences may vary. I found these straps very confusing, even when watching thye Op Tech official videos, until I bought one of each for myself. Hope you can buy the one that would serve you best. :-) 4Excellent camera strap I don't often give products 5 stars, but the OP/TECH USA Super Classic Strap - Bino 3/8-Inch deserves it.I have been searching for months for a camera strap to replace the one that came with my Nikon D750 that has the name of the camera emblazened on it with bright yellow stitching. I really dislike walking around advertising what product I am using.I wanted a simple strap -- no quick-release or swiveling connectors, no metal parts that would scratch my camera when I put it in its camera bag. The OP / TECH is this strap ... plain and simple, with a nicely-padded, not slip shoulder pad.The strap was a little on the long side, but I guess that's so it can be used to carry the camera across the chest. But, luckily, it is adjustable, and I was able to make it the length I wanted it.All in all, it's a great strap, and I am planning to buy another one for my second D750. 5Excellent products, but baffling array of choices needs to be simplified Op/Tech's neoprene straps are amazing from a comfort and convenience perspective, which is why I'm giving this five stars. The sheer number of choices and options are baffling, however. The company needs to do a much better job educating customers on its products in a straighforward, easy-to-follow way. I called their customer service line twice to get information on what products to buy, and even after a half-hour conversation with the owner's wife (it's a family business) came away thoroughly confused. Frankly, I'm inclined to think they offer too man products: really, what's the difference between a "classic," "super classic," and ordinary neoprene strap? And once you select a strap, what's the difference between "uni-loops" and "pro-loops"?The key to understanding the array of products is this: the products are modular. I love modular design, so this is a plus in my book -- but I didn't understand that they were modular until late in the process. In effect, if you want to maximize your options for configuring the straps the way you want, you'll probably want to order a neoprene strap with pro loops. That way you can change, for example, form a conventional neck strap to a sling. 5Soaks & holds heat like a wet suit I've used the strap on a recent trip. The fabric piping material wrapped around the neoprene is lifting up like stray furs. It is due to rubbing around the neck, hair and shirts. It is not balling or pilling or fraying. I will monitor over time and will not trim it off with a scissor, but just press it down by hand. The neoprene strap does feel very comfortable and distributes camera weight well. It does absorb sweat like a wet suit absorbs water on contact. It doesn't seem to breathe as neoprene holds heat like a wet suit does. A period wash water may be required if it starts to smell or get oily and is recommended for neoprene to stay supple to avoid drying out an cracking. 4
