Customer Reviews

Good lens pouch The Op/Tech Snoot Boot medium was a great fit for my Canon EF-S 55-250 zoom with hood. It gives it protection from bumps and weather without being too bulky. It cinches it tight with the drawstring and stays closed. I can still fit it inside my camera bag, or stuff it in a backpack. The side clip looks like it's strong enough to hang from a belt, but I'd probably feel more confident putting inside a backpack or sling bag. This Snoot Boot was wide enough to fit a EF-S 15-85 zoom lens, but couldn't accommodate the lens hood too. For that, I think the wide body version of this would be a better choice. I also like that it was made in the USA. It felt good to support US manufacturers. 4Buy something else. Not happy with this at all. It is made well, but as others have mentioned, it will not close completely. I'm not convinced my lens will not fall out. As for keeping dust and grit out, no way. I have several other Op/Tech products and have always been pleased, but this one is no good 2Cost effective lens case I purchased this for a a canon EF 400mm L lens I picked up used so it didn't come with the manufacture's case. The length of the sleeve for this lens is spot on, however, it's a bit wide for this particular lens. Because the boot is neoprene, the drawstring top does not close completely so there is a gap. Ideally, I would like it to close completely. However given the price point for the lens, this is a good solution and feel the lens is adequately protected. 4Protection for your lens I use OpTech snoot boots mainly for lens protection during travel. And the boots do exactly, provide a layer of neoprene around the lens for those inevitable bumps along the way. Not sure if I'm crazy about the way you cinch the top tight. It really does nothing more than prevent the lens from falling out. I use the boot with a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. 4Fit extremely difficult for a Tamron 150-600mm lens I would rate the Op/Tech pouch high (all their products), but the fit of the largest XXL pouch (5.25x12 inches) seems unacceptable for my Tamron 150-600m lens. The struggle to get it over the lens and hood seems extreme, not a field operation. After practicing, sitting down with lens held between legs to free both hands, maybe 30 seconds when all goes well. Sure wish the diameter was a bit larger. 4Perfect for light & fast systems, especially Micro 4/3 I bought this for my Panasonic-Leica 25mm f/1.4. It fits perfectly with the hood on. The back cap will still be exposed (about a quarter size) when fully closed, but no big deal because I can carry it with me everywhere. It allows me to quickly swap between my 25mm f/1.4 and the Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 while leaving respective hoods on. Lots of mounting options (belt mount, clip, etc.) so I can attach to my shoulder strap or just leave it in my bag.My goal was to be able to carry my M4/3 camera gear with me everywhere in my daily bag -- mission accomplished. 5Works well... Almost too roomy! I wanted to fit my Sigma 150-600MM C lens with lens hood reversed into something to protect it and this does the job. When I say protect I mean from dust and light abrasions. This thing's not going to help if you drop the lens when it's inside. Bottomline, for the money this does just what I wanted it to. Gotta love OP/Tech! They make a lot of great stuff at super reasonable prices. May not be the fanciest but inexpensive and effective. In the photo the rear lens cap shows only because I'm using a lens mount adapter on the lens that adds approx. 1" to the lens length. Highly recommended snoot boot, as are all of OP/TECH'S.... 5Well-made and works great. Another great OpTech product! I love these Snoot Boots from OpTech. I have at least five of these. They're sturdy and well-made, and provide nice protection for the lens without a lot of added bulk. Good for protecting lenses when put loose in a backpack or shoulder bag. The built-in clip and belt loop also come in handy, allowing you to carry the lens on a sling strap or belt for a minimalist carry.I found that my Olympus 12-40mm Pro lens with hood and UV filter attached fits quite nicely in this one and is better protected than in the Olympus lens pouch. I originally bought it to hold an Olympus 9-18mm zoom with hood attached, but this was a bit too big for that. :-) 5Well-made - Great for small primes This is a great size for small glass. I've used mine to protect a 16mm Nikon Fisheye, a 1.4x Teleconverter, a 35mm f/2D prime - and even an 85mm f/1.8 prime (no hoods for the last two though)The neoprene is nice and thick, but is flexible and supple enough not to get creases, common with cheaper knock-offs. The stitching is also top notch and the drawstring works as it should.I have a couple of these, and use it when I want to go 'indig' and use a non-camera bag to stow my gear. With it's minimal silhouette, it takes up much less space than small lens cases from ThinkTank, Lowe Pro or Tamrac.Highly recommended! 5Wide body small perfect for tripod on backpack The wide body small perfectly encircles the legs of my Benro combination (series 2) tripod. Beats the heck out of using a water bottle pocket. I am using the belt loop to bear the weight (most of the tripod's weight is on a cross-country-ski strap higher up).Nicely made, going to buy some more of these for their intended purpose (lenses) 5
