Customer Reviews

It's ok Works like I need but, I had to get the Unit Adaptor loops (regular) to make it the length I needed. I do notice, when I use it with my 80D and my 60D and a 24- 70 lens on one and a 35mm lens on the other, It does put a strain on my lower back after a while. I do feel it's secure although I did put the velcro straps on the quick connects for added peace of mind but it is strong and secure. I have other OP/TECH straps and they all are strong and secure. This Strap does what I need at an affordable price. I an too fat it the middle for the belt type camera hangers and I have "L" brackets and battery grips ans Monfrotto Tripod mounds on my cameras So I need the bottom free so I can go quickly to my tripod if needed. Over all, I like the product but not sure how much I'll use it really. It's one of those things we all buy because we think we'll use and it's part of my collection of things that look cool and useful but may not be used as much as I think. I'll have to wait and see. 4Glad I purchased It's already saved my gear twice. I've got a large dog and a couple of times he's tried to take off after a squirrel/cat and luckily I had my camera attached to this. I haven't used it for shoots yet. Just personal use and as a precaution. It doesnt feel uncomfortable over my shoulders. I wish that the cameras didnt have to dangle so far away from the body when bending or kneeling. But no harness is perfect I suppose. When shooting for leisure I keep my camera body stowed in a shoulder bag while clipped. They work well together. The shoulder bag I use: Qcute Waterproof Multi-functional tactical military messenger shoulder slr camera bag pack backpack holy cow that name is long. Anyway, check it out. I'll post a pic later if I'm not lazy :) 5After using it for 3 years, I finally figured out how to make it a great product with Arca Swiss Mounting Clamps I had been using the Op/Tech Dual Harness for 3 years with mixed feelings about it. But recently I made some upgrades to it that make it a great harness for carrying one or two cameras.I like to carry two cameras while doing nature photography involving butterflies, birds, wildflowers and other wildlife. I typically use the Canon 7D Mark II with 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II IS lens and a Canon 7D with the 100mm f2.8L IS macro or Canon 24-105 f/4L IS lens. I often use a tripod with a gimbal or ball for either wildlife or macro work so all my lenses are equipped with Arca-Swiss style mounts. The Arca-Swiss mounts allows you to quickly mount and balance your camera setup on the tripod head, and it can also you to balance it upside down on a camera strap..The Op/Tech system gives me the ability to quickly switch between straps based on the shooting situation, so every camera I own has the basic Op/Tech 3/8" system connector attached, which when not in use serve as a handle for carrying the camera. I have been using this standard mounting arrangement with the Dual Harness, with mixed feelings. Using the standard camera strap connectors mounted on the top of the camera is awkward when you have a telephoto lens or a macro lens with a flash attached. When walking or bend down, they hang down and swing around wildly, so you have to be careful if you have heavy equipment like I do. The arrangement also requires that the straps between the camera and the harness have to be long enough so you can pull the camera up to eye level, about 4" longer than if the strap is mounted on the bottom of the camera.About a month ago, I started thinking about how to improve my setup. I already owned a Kirk photo safety strap that included an Arca-Swiss clamp that I liked to use when I only carried one lens. The strap allows the camera to hang upside down near my waste, balanced so that it doesn't swing so much when I walk and is much more comfortable to carry. But it didn't work when I tried to carry a second camera attached to a second strap. My solution was to remove the clamp from the Kirk strap and use the system connectors that came with the Op/Tech Dual Harness to make a small strap that holds the Kirk Arca-Swiss clamp. I can now attach any of my lenses or cameras that already had Arca-Swiss mounts to the harness, and the harness can be easily moved from side-to-side. Needing a second Arca-Swiss strap clamp, I bought a "Neewer Aluminum Screw Knob Clamp Arca Swiss Compatible Mini Quick Release Clamp with Hot Shoe Mount for QR Plate (38mm)" for under $20 from Amazon; I like it even better than the one from Kirk.and have another one on order.I also decided to use a small S-biner in the setup so that I can easily clip the strap/clamp to my belt or belt loop so that when I bend over, the cameras don't swing forward. Along the way, I learned that the Dual Harness is much more comfortable if worn loosely. After loosing it up, I am able slip it on quickly over my head without unbuckling it and can comfortably wear it with either one or two cameras. Lastly, if you wear binoculars, like I do, I highly recommend using the Op/Tech Bino/Cam Harness (Elastic Version). It works great and fits over the Dual Harness while keeping your binoculars close to your chest. The attached photo the straps I built with the Kirk Photo (top) and the Neewer Arca-Swiss style clamps. Use and location of the S-biner is optional.. 5Great Harness for Two Cameras! I have the OP/Tech system setup for my two main cameras, typically one DSLR camera with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens, and the other DSLR with either a 17-50mm 2.8 lens or a 28-75mm 2.8 lens. I use this dual harness for every event that I photograph along with a Think Tank belt system with pouches. I love the quick release Op/Tech setup, plus I can wear this loaded down with my cameras and be comfortable for an all day shoot. Op/Tech makes terrific products that are very well made, and highly functional. I also have two other Op/Tech straps for when I am just doing casual shooting with one camera body. The quick release system allows me to quickly change between them. I have been using this setup for going on three years with absolutely no problems. I highly recommend this system. 5very much worth it This video shows it with two cameras on it. I do recommend it, it feels great and the straps do feel secure. I have worn it on a job already and it performed well, and the price is pretty good... I purchased the one that came automatically and was not given a size choose but, it works just fine.PS please, give me a thumbs up if this video was helpful to you in your purchase wether you are purchasing or not... thanks. Also, the videos have to be very short on here or I would have slowed down... 5Practical product that works well in the field This is a very practical product, and great for anyone who needs to use two cameras/ or camera/bino.I use it primarily for birding, with a bino and a long-lens set up.The winning feature is the sliding loop which enables you to lift up the camera or bino without tugging on the webbing. This allows a very quick and smooth operation - of practical importance in the field. The product can be improved if it comes with additional male/female buckles for attaching the original camera and bino straps. Sometimes, I just want to grab my binos or my camera, and not having a simple over the shoulder sling is drawback,I wrote to Optech about this, and they were kind enough to send me additional buckles. At least two pairs should be included, one for each item to be attached. And more should be made available for order, so that all your additional cameras/lenses/binos can be set up for use with the same harness.I've tried one other harness, and looked at many more, but I think the Optech is the best technically designed product. It isn't great on looks, but it's a great product that works well. 4comfortable and quality built As an event photographer, this harness is a must for dual camera carrying -- but works well when you only have one also. I have other Op/Tech photography accessories and they never fail to deliver; always comfortable and quality built. So when I needed a dual harness, I sought out the Op/Tech line again. And it's the design that made me confident with the purchase. If properly set up, your camera can not accidentally disengage from the harness, as it can happen with other brands that use clips, etc. Most importantly, it does not use the tripod screw as the attachment point-which I 'permanently' affix my quick release plate to - so that was not an option for me. I like that it has a sternum strap -- which reduces the pressure of carrying two professional cameras with fast glass. Great harness! 5Great price, great product I was shopping around for a good way to carry two cameras. I'm pretty new to dual shooting and i wasn't really sure if it was going to work for me so i didnt want to spend too much. The 3 candidates for me were the RS DR-1 Double Strap, Cameraslingers CF-FS or a Cotton Carrier. I started reading about them and looking at pictures, video and everything else i could find. I'm really a fan of a single connection point to the camera and i often use my tripods so i didnt want anything that would block the quick release connection on the base of the camera. (not to mention that one of my cameras is a new Pentax K-5 with a battery grip, so the idea of dangling the camera upside down from the grip was not appealing).I've been a fan of the OP/Tech single camera strap for quite some time so i was very happy to see that they have a dual harness and i was floored when i saw how in expensive it was compared to the others. My experience:First off, having two cameras swinging at your sides is just scary. If you're standing still it's fine but when you walk, stoop, crouch, turn or pretty much anything other than stand still your gear swings like play toys. I tried keeping the straps very short so that the cameras didnt dangle too far. That makes them more comfortable when you're moving around but if the straps are adjusted to be too short it gets hard to hold in front of you, especially in portrait orientation. It took some playing to find a workable length that didnt leave the camera hitting the ground when i take a knee. (Also, and obviously, the situation is related to how long the lens is.)After going out a couple of time and not feeling quite right i decided to try something different. I connected one strap to the op/tech dual harness, and put the other one around my neck tourist style. That seems to be the magic combo for me. Even with modest sized lenses on the bodies it feels much better only having one swinging camera at my side to worry about. I'm a big fan of this orientation. On a separate note, shooting with two bodies has so far been wonderful for me. I'm not clinically ADD but i have a pretty sporadic mind and when i'm out shooting i constantly see things that i want to shoot and to have two different types of lenses mounted and ready to shoot all of the time is just amazing, so far i am a huge fan. 5Brand name not always better I am so glad that I bought this harness, rather than the Black Rapid, or one of the others that attach via the tripod plate. I would forever be afraid that it would come unscrewed, sending hundreds of $$ of equipment crashing to the ground. Also, this leaves the tripod plate open for use with an actual tripod, without having to remove the strap. The only thing I wish I had done differently is to get the regular size, rather than the extra long. I'm not tall, by any means, but am some lbs larger than I should be. Using their suggestions regarding chest size, I should have needed the extra-long. Turns out that I should ordered the regular. I have the straps cinched up as short as I can get them, but my 70D with lens still hangs a little too low. It's not bad enough to send it back, and this thing takes a lot of weight off of your neck and shoulders. As a birder, I use the second connector to my binocular, but with an extra set of connectors, would easily switch out to an extra camera. I can't imagine getting anything any better for this price, especially if you don't want to make it harder to pop your camera onto the tripod. It has exceeded my expectations to this point. 5Very comfortable and good value for the money! Love this sling!! I am 5 6 and 125 pounds and routinely carry a Canon 7DMarkII with a 70-200mm on the right and a Canon 70D with a 24-105 and a flash on the left. It distributes weight very evenly. I wear this harness with the cameras and lenses listed above for more than 12 hours when covering NASCAR races. I love how the straps can snap off the harness when needed, and the ends connect together to make a tiny hand-held sized camera strap. I would recommend this harness to any dual-camera carrying photographers. 5
