    OPEK Magnet Mount Dual Band Antenna Works Well With The Baofeng UV-5RE Radio.Magnet mount Dual band OPEK antenna works very well with the Baofeng UV-5RE amateur radio.S5 to S9 signal levels at 15 miles from the repeater.5Wish it had SMA female connectorI have not had the chance to use this antenna, yet. It does come with an SMA connector, only it's male (just like the one on my UV-5R). I'll update when I have the chance to get a F-to-F SMA adapter.1Good FRAGILE AntennaI've had several of these over the past few years and they work well--as long as you're careful with them. The mini-coax gets fatigued and disconnects from the mag mount base. The SMA version's center pin breaks easily, making the unit useless.They generally don't last very long but, for 22 bucks, they're not a huge loss.4Please Use the Antenna Before CommentingWell worth the price. Helps greatly compared to a junky rubber duckie antenna that comes with portables. Got mine with the SMA connector which works on Yaesu portables. You will need an SMA female to female SMA adapter to use with the cheap Chinese portables. Even works on mobiles if you keep the power down and use an adapter. A good choice for scanner use on VHF & UHF too5Works great at the QTHI bought this same antenna 3 times now from Austin Amateur radio back in the day when they were open for $18. This works great in the car with a mobile, and as others stated low power out on 2M/440. I even have 2 of these in the house, one on a cookie sheet as ground plane in bedroom up high close to ceiling on book shelf, and the other in diferent room on an old HP tower computer that i threw away 15 yrs ago, but kept side access panel, anbd use as ground plane, and works great on scanner radio there. For the price it can't be beat, and if any of the 3 antennas i have stop working, I'll be purchasing from amazon for the low price under $20.5WorksI use this with a yaesu vx-6r HT in my car. I have the mag mount on the center of the roof and the cable running between the door and the car. Works great for local repeater coverage.5
