NOT 6000 lumens - you decide on false advertising!!!OH DEAR, this is not 6,000 lumens. False advertising? I compared this to my 3 year old Stanley 2,200 lumen Fatmax and not only isn't the Odear 3 times brighter, the Odear is dimmer. The box doesn't say how many lumens but the title for the light and the product description both say 6,000 lumens. The box does say range of 2000 meters (over 6,000 feet or about 1 mile) BUT the description above says "about 2600 feets" (their bad grammar). I compared both lights multiple ways on the river and found the ceiling test to be the easiest to standardize. The first picture is from a tripod mounted camera with identical manual settings but I cropped out the spotlights so you can decide for yourself. The second picture are the full pictures. I have used my Stanley Fatmax for three years in nighttime boating. I've rarely charged it and thought I could do better with a brighter and cheaper light -- WRONG! I'm returning this and buying second Stanley Fatmax SL10LEDS 2200 for 10 bucks more. The Fatmax is a heavier light and roughly the same size but it has endured the punishment of 3 years of salt water boating. The Odear might work fine in your backyard but not if you want to see a boat or other obstacle at a couple thousand feet. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."1Very bright and lightweight This flashlight has a very narrow beam, which allows bright light to be thrown very long distances. The USB charger in the back is also nice, and the light comes with a small USB plug-in bulb at the rear of the light to increase safety and visibility when walking near traffic, etc. the light is also surprisingly lightweight! 5Signal Low Earth OrbitI've never bought a flashlight like this before. If you are comparing this to a regular home flashlight then you'll be amazed. No more buying D Cell batteries or those big squaure ones with the coil on top. Nope, those heavy things are the old way. The new tech for batteries and battery charging banks for cell phones and tablets are amazing when coupled with new tech LED light.So now you're your weatherproof home flashlight, except on steroids. Do not point this light at your face. I did it with my eyes closed it didn't make a difference that my eyes were closed. This is a serious flashlight. A home invader would immediately be blinded if you got his in their eyes, so be careful with it around other people and with pets. I read the other reviews and many of them are critical, I clam being na ve after reading them. They are critical of them being used s not just a home flashlight for when the power goes out, but as backups for SPOTLIGHTS on their boat or on acreage. And even they mostly had great things to say about this light.Ok oK. I like this product. I didn't give it 5 stars because it claims to be rain/weather proof but they way the charging usb and a/c input port are covered by the plastic cover - I'm not confident it will stay on for the life of the light, and I'm a little dubious it will effectively keep water out if you drop in a puddle or something. Rain? Sure. And the second bigger reason is the price. It just seems very expensive at this price point. I get that its newer battery capacity and LED tech, but in 2018 it really isn't. I'd give 5 starts for one around 25 bucks or lower.That's said, I might just be ignorant on manufacturing costs of the battery or something. Anyway, if it lasts on a charge as long as stated which it seems to be, then this is a extremely worthwhile item to have. Although even at my wish price of 25 dollars, it s not a cheap thing - however, the savings in not having to buy huge heavy expensive not-good-for-the-environment D Cell batteries or Lantern batteries makes it worth it.The light so so bright, and so illuminating that it will be handy for piece of mind when the power goes out or other emergency situations. An added bonus it will charge your cell phone through the USB in the back by the plug. You can also charge it via the same USB. Carrying strap, USB connection cable and AC wall adapter charging included.I totally recommend this product. Go and by other items like this in cause of power outage, emergency, or collapse of society.4Bright light for the moneyI really like this light. It is very bright and it is very lightweight. I like the unique idea you can use it as a lamp with the small light bulb included. I bought this light once before and my mother loved it. So I gave that one to her and I bought myself another one. Scratch that - I love this spotlight! It is super bright and will easily light up the treeline over 400 feet away. Will it reach 2600 feet as advertised? It came well packaged and fully charged, so it was ready to use right out of the box. There is a black foam washer around the switch to protect it during shipping, so make sure you take that off before use. It simply peels right off. There is a small tag inside the box which instructs this as well. The light is very lightweight, comfortable in your hand, and comes with an AC charger with cord which plugs into the charging port on the flashlight. Also included is a usb cable, which you can plug into the usb port on the flashlight and then plug the opposite end into a cell phone or other such device to provide a charge for such device. It also comes with a shoulder or carrying strap and a bonus light which you can plug into the usb port on the flashlight for camping purposes or other times when low light may be needed. You could also plug this bonus light into a computer usb port, if you desire to do so for some reason. The charger provided lights green when charging and red when fully charged. It is lightweight, sturdy, you can scan a wood line 800 feet away and see sufficient detail! The only thing I don't really care for is the push the on off button once for max brightness and push it again for the lower setting. I would rather have a separate switch for on/off and another for bright/not so bright.
