Proves Amazing FunctionalityWhile I do have a 1st grader at home whose learning knife etiquette, I also have a wife who does wood carving / whittling. She had an unfortunate accident a couple weeks back that could have been much worse thankfully by gouging her thumb. Immediately after the trip for a few stitches I logged on to amazon and tried to find a pair of petite size work gloves that were cut resistant, btw. she has a size 5 ring finger. So most options that were even labeled as small would dwarf her tiny hands.I ran into these NoCry gloves and got them for her for Christmas, it was a small purchase and could be thought of as a cheaper option. However she has not had any problems for this last week. So this is what she told me:PROS: Breathable, Washable, and Protective against blades / knives / kitchenware.CONS: No Grip? easily slip-able tools.5Another use for a great product!I teach young children how to sew and in this age that means using a rotary cutter. Klutz did make a small glove-can't find them now so I'm trying these. I spray a bit of rubber on the fingers and palm to make them slip resistant I am very pleased with the product and the company shipped the order quicker than expected!5These worked fine for my 7 yo granddaughterwho is learning to cook. She was able to hold a tomato and slice it with a serrated knife. She was able to hold a chunk of cheese and cut pieces off. The fingers are still a little long for her, but I'm sure she'll grow into them. We haven't gauged the heat resistance yet, so I didn't rate for that. She uses a potholder to lift lids, and I don't want her putting her hands into an oven just yet.5My twins love theseI bought these for my 9 year old boy/girl twins to learn kitchen fun. They started with these gloves using kid knives bought on Amazon to practice, and then transitioned to real knives. The gloves fit their hands well, only part that doesn't is the tips of fingers, about half inch too long. They are not "stab" proof, and my kids are old enough to follow directions using these. Wouldn't leave any kids alone with these and a knife, use common sense. They have not been cut through and are ambidextrous. I don't let them touch meat with them and wash them in machine after use. I recommend them. Accidents happen with blunt knives, so mine are sharp and I don't give them tough things (carrots etc) to cut when learning, started them on soft fruit to get comfortable with a knife. Now they do potatoes, apples, sandwiches, celery etc.5Because knives are fun and blood isn t...I took a gamble and got the size 8-12 for my 71/2 year old. They are a little big, but he will grow into them soon enough. These are perfect; they allow kids to learn two life skills; how to cut things safely, and just because you can doesn t mean you should... I would say the only way your kid will cut him or herself is if you as the adult are not paying attention. I hope you all enjoy cooking with your little ones as I am having with mine.5Worth getting in my opinionGood product! I wanted them mainly for using to handle shellfish and for using the mandoline. The first day they arrived I used them to save my hands while cutting lobster tails. They worked great ad I'm very glad to have them. I think they will get a lot of use in my kitchen.5Outstandingthese gloves are outstanding ... my granddaughters found them on Amazon and wanted them to protect their hands while fishing (which they do a lot of) ... and they love, love, love these gloves ... they didn't have to wear band aids or wraps to protect their fingers and hands ... and these fabulous gloves were the answer5Perfect solution!! I bought these gloves for my 4 year old little girl. She's always wanting to help in the kitchen and I get high anxiety when she's even close to me while I'm using a knife. I found these gloves randomly and decided to give them a try. My little girl was so excited when they came in, she immediately ran to the kitchen and said it was time to cook. First time I've ever allowed her to use anything sharp and it was peeling potatoes. She wasn't scared at all and I wasn't as nervous. I ordered the smallest size available and it fit almost perfectly. They were a little loose, but there are rubber grippers on the wrist to keep them from slipping. My parents are ordering some for grandkids when they come over as well. 5Very happy with this purchase and these gloves. For a female, I have medium-large hands. Since these gloves seem to be uni-sex, I bought a small. They fit perfectly. The first time I used them, the hand wearing the glove took several little nicks that would have been slices with the knife I was using. The hand with the glove was fine. The hand without the glove, not so much. They are substantial enough to protect but are thin enough to enable you to still maneuver and hold food even as the pieces being chopped get smaller. I highly recommend these gloves.5Great for Boys Scout CampI purchased 3 pairs of these gloves for my kids to take to Boy Scout Camp. One kid size and the other two were adult smalls. The kids size would probably fit a K-3rd grader. Didn't fit my 5th grader. I was glad I had purchased the adult small as well. They were used daily for a week and didn't have any fraying in the material after use. After camp they washed up well and I let them air dry.5Great for teaching kids These are meant for cut protection not piercing or impact.I tried them before having my 6 use them. They will reduce cutting injuries greatly. I slid a razor sharp knife with even force that would of created a nasty gash if I wasn t wearing these. The glove did show damage but it did it s job with no cutting on the skin.If you stab or smash your hand these will not do anything to protect you, or if you use scissors on them. They are meant to prevent slipping knife cuts. 4What was sad is now happyWhen i ordered these i was exited because i have very small hands (pretty much childlike in size) the pair i ordered fit very well but did seem to have a small quality issue with tearing/fraying. The company has since contacted me about this issue and is sending out a replacement pair. now that's customer service! it's hard for me to find a great glove that will fit me properly and still be durable for many house and or yard tasks. I appreciate a company who goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction.5So exciting! First knife for kiddo!!! Got these to protect my son's hands while showing how to safely and properly hand a knife. He is 3 1/2, so it's a bit younger than I'm sure they would expect, but his is fascinated by the outdoors, and tried to peel an apple with a butterknife. He is also very stubborn, so I figured maybe it's time to start learning some knife safety. First off, I want to say, I love the little "how-to" information sheet that comes with them it's great! Anyway, on my 3 year old the smallest gloves fit, but the fingers are almost an inch too long, however, it doesn't seem to effect his ability to manipulate in them. The grip with them is alright, I haven't tested them wet. They are most certainly cut resistant, as my Morakniv companion can attest to.Overall, I trust them to protect my son's hands while we practice. 5
